  • eyeless118927, it can be found on Nelson's Thesaurus Transcription. 12th May 1954. If you have trouble locating it I can send you an mp3 of it.

  • Eddy really was a great singer. Just listen to that legato. This stands well with Ponselle, et al.

  • My father loved Nelson and had many of his recordings, which I know have . My favorite is the Lords prayer ,and the lost chord. A and b side of a columbia 12" he would play it for me before I went to sleep.

  • One always thinks of Rosa Ponselle's classic version[s] of this song: and Eddy shows himself here to be in the same class. Tremendous!

  • @saltburner2 MANY PEOPLE ASSOCIATE NELSON EDDY WITH MISS MACDONALD, THEIR STORY IS A MATCH MADE BY LOUIS B AT METRO STUDIOS, IT IS SAID THAT NELSON PUCHED MAYER IN THE FACE. HE WAS A FINE BARITONE, NOT PARTICULRLY SUITED TO OPERA, ALTHOUGH HE DID SING AROUND 30 ROLES HIMSELF. HE WAS A VOICE FROM HOLLYWOOD LIKE MANY OF THAT GENRE. NELSONS EARLY RADIO WORK IS FASCINATING TO HEAR, SUCH A VARIETY- OPERA-G&S-OPERETTA-SHANTIES-BALLADS ETC ETC. NELSON BEGAN ON FIRESTONE IN 1934, NONE OF THESE SURVIVE

  • Absolutely beautiful: lyrics, melody and singing.

  • where can i find the sound recording of this???? please tell me... i sang this song last semester and i listened to it often then... but then it was taken down and now it's back up again... i haven't heard a better rendition.
