  • Brain was so much help at the Sacramento EXPO this pass weekend. His friendly smile as well as professional ability to direct you to what your looking for was great... This video along with meeting him in person made the EXPO worth going to...I will have Brian Gundy forgiveness snakes in my collection.

  • so do you believe that you can breed a female at 1500 grams even if it isnt 2 years old?

  • @bpKandC

Yes I believe that 1500 grams is a good weight for breeding female ball pythons, but have found that most 2 year old females are not sexually mature at 2 years old.

  • you give some the most informative info out there, thank you very much brian, i cant explain how helpful this has been for me, i have been able to successfully breed back females to the father and produce piebalds using this technique, because i started with two hets and that both displayed this trait, its a great indicator, great for breeding for triple gene too, which is what im working on now,

  • @chriscartelcanada

    Chris,

    Thanks for your comment.

I also have been able to produce 50 % het pieds and breed them back to their father to produce pieds. So far my successrate for 100 %. Good luck with your season.

  • @chriscartelcanada

Chris, Thanks for the compliment. It's amoazing what you can do when you have the right tools.

Good luck with your triple gene projects.

  • brian you spoke for a second on feeding baby balls so the can grow could you elaborate more on this topic, as this is information we all need. by the way i purchased my first ball python from you in 2008 and she is doing very well, kinda small about 1000 grams and seems to have stopped growing.

  • @bigboize

It would probably be a good idea to call me at 408.981.6694. Our conversation about your feeding schedule will be more effective if we comminicate by phone.

  • I have a pastel female ball python she has a complitly white belly. is that normal for pastels? do you think shes het pied? and if she eats two mice should i let her or should i just give her one? Thanks!

  • @zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz0

Freddy,Sorry it has taken me so long to respond to your comment, I just found it tonight.

My guess is that you pastel has a cream colored bellie. If this is the case then that is normal. If the white you speak of is the same brightness as the white of a pied then you are probably looking at a pastel pied. My guess is that is not the case. Why don't you send me a photo through my web site at for-goodness-snakes.comGo to my contact page to send me the e-mail.

  • @shanethebarroomhero

    Shane,

Today I'm going to take some video of a couple of mojaves that I know are going through the beginning stages of ovulation so people can see what this looks like.

I would be glad to look at your female, are you located near San Jose?

    Brian

  • hey brian, i was actually just wondering if u could look at my vid on my account here, ill post it as a video response. i also have a 1800g female mojave that is breeding my lesser male, good luck on ur BELS!!

  • @shanethebarroomhero

Shane, There is no doubt that your big female is ovulating. Congratulations and good luck with that clutch.

    Brian

  • How often do you feed her a week? And what?meaning what size rhodent.

  • @ctnpythons

Now I only feed her once per week, but there have been many weeks where she has eaten every four days or so. Now she eats large smalls or small medium rats..

I will sometimes feed two or three small food iterms at a time to my babies.

I raise my own rats so it is easy to feed when I want, rather than to wait until I'm able to purchase them.

I will admit that I feed my females more than I feed my males,

    Brian

  • will u breed her this season if she like 1200gr or next breeding season

  • @masterjo111

I will breed her next season. There is a fine line and I'd rather she cross that line, rather than put her at risk.

    Brian

  • How dis she get that big? Do you have any clutch mates for sale.

  • @chapmansidney

I'm sorry, but all of her clutch mates have either been held back by me or already sold. This particular female has literally never refused a meal.
