  • Thankyou Peter Green.

  • No greater joy than hearing talent having fun!

  • Gives you a warm feeling to see ol Pete smile

  • Peter Green...................Founder of 'Fleetwood Mac'.....! Songs like "Man of the world" and "let me tell you about my life". Outsold the Beatles...............Surely, Mr "bullshitdetective" this man deserves a little politeness? By the way vacuum head; I also thought Gary Moore was outstanding. However, he's no longer with us.

  • We found someone and he's better than Eric...What! Better than Eric!?

  • Nice To see Greenys In Fine Form and Loving It!!!!

  • this is awefull sounds like a gararge band. i stink and im even better than this.

  • Zzzzzzzzzz.......:-)

  • Check my version - its a copy of Peters original Bluesbreakers recording. I met Peter twice and he kindly signed my strat scratchplate.

  • checkout my version

  • @bullshitdetective why can't you detect the crap coming out of your own arseformouth Peter Green is THE greatest BLUES guitarist to come out of Britain. Not for speed or technique but for soul.

  • Holy shit, I thought he was dead

  • @bullshitdetective1 The late Gary Moore made a whole CD of Peter Green's blues stuff as a tribute to him. He owned Peter Green's Les Paul guitar for a while too.

  • @bullshitdetective1

Enjoy your Gary Moore CD's and vids and stop watching movies you don't like, I would say. Why spilling your time? There are over a million video's on the tube which you probably won't like as well. Look for the things you like instead of playing the bullshitdetective. Life is to short for that :-)

  • @harpslide

Yes you are correct and more so, I actually think Gary Moore (if he was alive today) would be ashamed to read such a comment about Peter Green as he was a fan of Peter's music too.

  • bullshit detective is as dumb as hen shit man, he sits at his computer day in thinking up dumb ass shit to say, 9 times out of 10 he makes his self look dumber than he is, which is not hard, because he is as dense as a 9 bob bit, his head is like a block of wood man, knock knock type of thing, anyone home, not really like

  • @bullshitdetective1 Gary Moore was great guitar player. Unfortunately like Joe Bonamassa he never found his own kind of music. I mean he played almost everything: rock, blues, pop. And he had not heart for any of these...Peter is a God.

  • @bullshitdetective1 Gary Moore? What, the 1970s 3rd division footballer?

  • @bullshitdetective1 Moore is dead, he can't play anything! Greeenie is a survivor!

  • @bullshitdetective1 Hey do you want to know who was one Gary Moores greatest if not the greatest influence.... Peter Green. If it wasn't for Peter Greens influence Gary Moore would have been just another fast player without feeling .

  • Metal is mind-awakening but "BLUES is SOUL-AWAKENING".........

    Blues for life...!!!

  • well said Rainbow with sole and blues

  • So glad to see Peter playing again after all of these years, and no one rocked a '59 Les Paul like this cat did! I wish we heard more about how Danny Kirwin is doing. There doesn't seem to be much information about him other than he is in an institution in England. What a sad story.

  • king/peter.solem.alycom.agote.melec.bluse

  • Rock On, Mista Green! Glad you're still around darlin'. Say hello to me "Windfingers" every once in a while. I loved him so. Carlie xo

  • Love this version. The fill chords sound really bluesy - he still has the feel like very few others Ive heard. check my youtube area for a few Peter Green covers by myself.

  • This is outright sensational good palying considering what he has gone trough. It's sad to think of all ECT treatments he had to undergo. That really fuck up his brain. ECT is like being raped and people keep telling you not to be upset, that it wasn't that bad.

  • we looooooooooooooovvvvvvvvvvvvvveeeeeeee that song :-)))

  • No one brings out the spaces in between like Peter Greenbaum.

  • fantastic - we just love Peter Green !

  • This one actually sound much closer to Freddie King version than the one Peter covered with Mayall. I like them both. Peter still got that smooth touch. He is easily the most underrated guitarist of all time.

  • Been a hard road, Peter, but keep on playin'. We love you.

  • Just MAGIC!!!!!

  • peter you are the man stay around forever

  • Always great to see Peter enjoying his playing again, so thanks for posting this, but why did you keep panning away from him? Was it just to show us that the other guitarist was acting like a complete dick?

  • Oh this is so good, I saw Peter Green when he was with Splinter Group and most of his parts were played by other band members which was very sad to see. I am so delighted therefore that he's still performing, and playing well too.

  • Does this mean that when a Les Paul kid grows up he becomes a Stratocaster man?

  • @djangolad lol they all do!!! damn pauls are too freakin heavy!!

  • @djangolad No! What it means is that to tame a Les Paul, you have to have the strength and belief in yourself that comes with being young. Anybody can play a Strat and make it sound good, as it is a devine tone. BUT, to make a LP sing, you have to master it, and most old gits can't take the fight anymore. (Mind you, I am nearly 60, and I still play LP's, as nothing sounds as good!)

  • @vazon69 Rubbish! All guitars are. is a plank of wood with some wire to strum on. (See Sea Sick Steve play his junk yard spank plank) I have heard worthless bits of plywood sing like an angel when put through a Marshall stack. Likewise a vintage Gibson SG sound like a goose farting in the fog!

  • He's still gorgeous - more in a cute way now, but he's still got it. What a character, what a decent man, and what a great musician.

  • The king, don't stop playing

  • Great to hear you again Mr Green. We still love you!

  • would love to see a film of his life story

  • @jakegrady There is one called The Peter Green Story-Man of The World. I got it from Amazon.com and watch it often.

  • @jakegrady The trailer for the movie is on YouTube.

  • When the late great Garry Moore was asked who inspired him to pick up a guitar he replied "Peter Green"

  • Somebody should write Greens biography.

  • @Barnekkid I think someone already has - Martin Celmins.

  • @Barnekkid

there is a autobiography out but its not cheap as i think it may be out of print

  • cool

  • Peter is a man who played from his soul...but things got in the way for awhile but he is remebering where it all comes from.

If you ever stand close to him you will feel his precence....a shining light.

  • brilliant,thanks for posting

  • He's Marvelous. He's Awsome. He's fabulous. He's stupendous. He's Kick-In-The- Ass-Good !!!!

  • @zaldivarjohn

    Yes Pete is!

  • he still plays great.

  • Well he has a lo of friends out here from the old days and we want to help him but I know his family and they are nice people so what is going on?

  • Peter cancelled tour because tricked on tour by his greedy solicitor! His fingertips are hurting and fingernails falling off! That is why Mike takes him to polish his nails!Dont ask for Peter on tour! They stressed him too much!Solicitor and all greedy people are cause of Peters bad health!Peter is not allowed to live the life he wants! Hope all greedy who are slowly killing Peter can live with them selfs!Free Greeny!

  • @MrRoyable That is terrible, I am so upset. We were friends and I always hoped that he would be okay. He has a manager and lives at home, are they not caring for him?

  • @deborahknight20 No ! they do not care! Sqeeze the last drop blod of him!Solicitor as manger directing Peters life when to do gigs, whom to see, directing Mike to take Peter to have his haircut! There are peoplecommenting nailpolish on yt! Peter said him self that it wasMikes idea!

  • So good to see you back pete honey

  • @deborahknight20 Peter cancelled tour because tricked on tour by his greedy solicitor!

  • Any thing by Freddie king is boss.

  • wow this was better than I first thought, ofcourse he is not like he once was, but this is not bad at all!

    go greenie! :D

  • yep , he's having a good time alright.. way to go peter!! :)

  • boy wouldn't I love to see him live! thanks alot one of the best guitarists alive... kind of lost his voice from the way it used to be. what a talent though.

  • this is shit!!! gary moore is so much better

  • @bullshitdetective1 How about you read about Peter Green's life, watch the videos of when he was at his peak, and then re-think your comment. Not only was/is he one of the best guitarists there's been, he's far better than Gary Moore and I'd like to see anyone play this well at this age specially after the life Green's had.

  • @bullshitdetective1 Why dont you just ask Gary Moore what he thinks about Peter Green? His "Blues For Greeny" album pretty much tells you what his answer would be!! BFG is a great album by the way.

  • @bullshitdetective1 Garyoore is shite mate

  • Hi,

Thank you for this Video. I like it! It's the Feeling and not the Speed.

That must be said to Miktruk and all the people, who say that he's not good.

On my Les Paul there is now a big autograph from Peter Green.

I've seen him playing this Solo in November 2009 (look at my video)

    Jamtrack8

  • That was pretty good and i enjoyed it. Peter isn`t the man he used to be, non of us can be young again. My hands are getting knackered and the rest isn`t far behind but i don`t mind to much because i still love Music.

It`s obvious he`s having fun here and thats Good.............!

  • I love how him and BB King, even though they can't stand through a whole set, sit through a whole set and are still showing those that jump through a whole set how it's done.

  • Nice to see Peter enjoying himself...but I remeber seeing Fleetwood Mac in 1968 when it was just him Jeremy Mick and John in a blues club in Kidderminster then again in 1968 at a blues festival in Droitwich when they introduce Danny Kirwan, Peter just let Danny take the stage with some brilliant solos, but peter remains the best blues player this country has ever produced or ever will, his touch and feel has never been matched...some guitarist can play faster but you need the feel for the blues

  • @rogbow69 B.B. King on Greenie: He's the man!

  • @rog: The only boomer-generation bluesman who went further into the feeling than his mentors. You can't fit into everyday life after you've seen the blues darkness. Robert Johnson couldn't, Otis Rush couldn't, & Peter couldn't. Clapton put the brakes on his descent into the blues after '70, & became a blues-businessman, like his idol BB King. Show-blues's fine: EC & BB have the most enviable of lifestyles, but it ain't the same as the insanity of the real thing.

  • I don't care what anybody says, Peter Green would still play tasty licks if he had a full frontal lobotomy!

  • it's a real miracle and so *great* to see after all that Peter Green has been through - Jeremy Spencer also back - maybe one day Danny Kirwan as well?

    ;)

    youtube>danny_kirwan>'dragonfly'

  • He's dead to me.. =(

  • Seeing this film of Peter provokes mixed emotions....happiness that he feels well enough to get up and play, tinged with great sadness that he is clearly not the man he was; I prefer to remember the guitarist that could move me to tears with his playing. Thank you for all that unbelievable music Mr Green.

  • @clean3 How do you think it feels for those of us who knew the brash and vibrant young man that once told John Mayall, after Clapton's departure, "why that guitarist you have, he's no good; I'm better than that." And he was. Now, playing a belly banjo in a used guitar store in SF, he looks up and sees three posters on the wall. To the left, Jimi Hendrix, to the right Eric Clapton. Of the middle poster, he asks: "Is that me?" "Yes," I answer, "that's you, Peter." Or is it?

  • @clean3

I reckon Eric lost it too, all he has left is professionalism. Same with BB. It's what happens: brilliant young men either die or lose their edge. Greeny lost all those years developing professionalism, but I think he's lost less of his zing than Clapton or King. And his voice is better than it used to be!

The legend of Peter Green losing his magic is obscuring the reality that almost everyone does. The only one I listen to much who is as great as he ever was is Buddy Guy.

  • Hahaha

    Wonderful to see.

  • Nice guitar sound,great!

  • Smiling n playing the electric-nice! I was ready to be saddened again. Still miss that incredible voice tho. Voice, playing, writing-who's ever been more talented?

  • Yes, he's still got it.

  • Much love and respect! Peter is one of my favorite guitar players. WOW

  • I saw this line up at the Komedia in Bath last night. Great show. Peter is obviously pretty frail and seemed to need a lot of encouragement; but after a slowish start he gained confidence and gave us a real treat. The sweetest blues guitarist ever.

  • Twiglecat - I first experienced Peter's touch and feel over 36 years ago. You are truly fortunate to see him in person. I have yet to achieve that.

  • Saw them play a couple of days ago and they were great. Peter Green has an incredible touch and feel to his guitar playing.

  • Peter - You are a ray of sunshine. Hell, you are the whole rainbow! Keep shining on!

  • what this guy went trough is beyond imagination, good to see he's still playing.

  • both gary and peters versions are sik, and both very different in their approach

  • i sor them last night was amazing completely changed my musical view 10/10

  • going to see Peter and Friends on the 20th february in Holmfirth! West Yorkshire! can't wait!

  • que grandeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • It's great to see Peter with a smile , Enjoying music again. This makes me happy too ! Shine on you crazy diamond !

  • wow!

  • Wow, this is the best I've seen him in years, bless him he's really having a go there, bending & throwing in some real licks! And having a good time not being bashed around by the other players he's been lumbered with over recent years. Gotta love him. He was streets ahead of absolutely everyone on the highly dubious English Blues scene. Cool to see this : )

  • Absolutely wonderful, some are as good, but none are better, keep bluesing green man !!!

  • No body is what they used to be...but this Pete is just fine! GO PETER GO!

  • Doesn't matter what he plays as long as he plays! He doesn't give a Damm! People who can play don't really care--what therere trying to say through the instrument comes through regardless of the guitar. Play on Peter!!!

  • Peter Green: Please pick up a Les Paul and dump that Strat. The Les Paul is what made you the Blues King you are.

  • that's right! i was thinking it too!!

  • Somebody assasinate Gary Moore!

  • i love gary moore. top ten guitarist of all time. ability is no. 1. peter green is great. too bad for the mental/drug problems. many just did not know the potential problems back then. he sold his les paul to gary.

  • Just goes to show it's not what you play but how you play it.

    Keep practising Gary.

  • gary needs no practice. he is awesome. young peter is awesome.

  • @herbherbert gary is awesome-o 5000 aswell as green, but theyre just different

  • @MorroccoM13 it's not even a strat, the headstock just looks a little similar

  • he ain't the Pete from long back. It hurts..

  • He has been through Hell and back, is it any suprise he has picked up a few scars along the way? He is still with us and for that we should be thankful.

  • He's still alive, and playing. Michael Bloomfield (RIP) has been dead for 29 years. So it goes to say that one drug makes you crazy, and you can slowly recover, while the other kills you dead in your prime.

  • Top man Peter Green.-may God bless and keep you always. So good-- that class is still there so strong. I agree that the big fat hairy beardy git in the Splinter group really got in the way back then.

  • GO PETE GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @66Quimby he is so old and fucked

  • @bullshitdetective1 he is five years older than me you idiot and you would be well F*****d if you had gone through what he had. I know because I was there. Idiot.

  • you are a fuckin jerk @bullshitdetective1

  • Agreed, ´Splinter days ´ was a sumwhat weak period , but now Greenie´s back on track .Luvli to behold !

  • I hear a "bit" of Albert King in Peter's guitar.

  • What a pleasure to see him smiling and playing with energy. He plays better now than in the splinter group. I had seen him when he started his come back in the nineties and he seemed completely lost so that I thought he couldn't go on... What a chance he went on !

  • I agree Pete sounds alot better now then the splinter group day's

  • @TheBigduckhead i dont like the splinter group begous that fatt guitar players was doing al the solo,s .but this rocks i only hope green wil pick up one of his gibson lespaul,s again;-)

  • Definitely one of my hero's, just makes me feel good to see and hear him play.

  • @strum4tone Absolutely. Have seen him several times over the last few years as he's grown both in confidence and skill. Really sad to see at first, but now he's really great ... not the same as he was at the start, but definitely back.

  • @strum4tone A big YES to a genuine survivor who can still get it done. Got to hear him play Oh Well when I was 19...so glad PG is still on the move!

  • @strum4tone nice to see him smile again after all the probs hes had..

  • Thanks to God that Peter is sounding better and better. He is the real deal.

  • I Love you Peter good to see you feeling good,

from a swedish guy who saw you in Jönköping with the real Fleetwood in the late sixties.

  • I miss THE Peter Green.. If you catch my drift..

  • I catch. Indeed. Good to at least see that he's back at it.

  • you want him to fuck up his life again?

  • what id give to see peter green, mick fleetwood, john mcvie, jeremy spencer and danny kirwin together again just for a one off! would be awesome to hear them do man of the world or something

  • I love to see Peter Green laugh and enjoy playing, my living god, absolutely fabulous.

  • Haha gogo Peter, still and always will have that touch and a great mind for music.

  • For real man its about time. Drugs givith and takith away. The light always burns brightest before it burns out.

  • Too true

  • You moron.

  • I'm entitled to my opinion.

  • dream on, Mitruk

  • @miktruk your right. seriously, peter has lost it and anyone who thinks different is either deaf, or havnt listed to his original work

  • Peters great! The band sucks!

  • What's up with the band? No soul or dimension. Drums don't push Peter anywhere.

  • Pete's driving, no additional "pushing" needed everything is back up...

  • Green's Rockin Blooz !

  • Greene and Clapton together with John Mayall that would be nice to hear!

  • Drummer doesn´t swing...

  • Great!

  • Well done Peter , youve still got it in truckloads

  • best thing i've seen all day. keep it up peter!

  • Thanks Peter it's fantastic to see and hear you again, we never forgot you!

  • Hey Eric - WATCH THIS and don't be nervous Pete and you would be fantastic on stage!

  • Simply put my friends...Greene ..'was' the best evr blues guitarist....back in the day..just ask BB King....ANYWHO....unfortunately...Greeney went the way of Sid Barret..in that, a few too many acid trips, etc ..but his blues playing ..had many times more 'soul' than many of the Legends..including Clapton, forst and foremost..and he was right ON PAR ..BAR NONE..with JIMI..as far as Blues is concered..IMO ..so f you all! hahaha

  • AMEN BROTHER...

  • I know everyone is trying to be nice, and of course, it is so wonderful that Greenie is still hear and playing, but.....his playing is not even close to 40 years ago. I would put him in the top ten of guitarists of all time and now (today's playing) I put him in about 457,872rd place. Sorry, but that is what I hear.

  • The NEARER to the roots LIVE - the CLOSER to the FEELING! He played with quite a few big cats earlier as you might know! Technically there might be 457,853 better blues guitarist's nowadays but still, as mayor Quimby states: "Give the master a break,"

  • Yes in deed!

  • Just got tickets to see him in Cork in three weeks. After watching this video, I just can't wait.

  • Greeny is the best.I've read an interview of him said he & Jimi used to jam together & Jimi stopped playing n watched Greeny play.

    Thanks for the video.

  • Ive got tickets to see peter green in dublin in october ,

Cant wait to see the legend !!

  • you can take me!!!! lol sounds like a great time. I hope you enjoy it.

  • outstanding!

  • He's pretty much playing note for note the original version by Freddie King that's slightly dissapointing. I seem to recall he made a better version earlier on in his career.

  • Come on, he made a "better version" you say earlier on in his career. Yea, about 42 years earlier on. Give the master a break, I think he sounded great.

  • Comment removed

  • I'm sitting here with tears in my eyes. This is the best playing I've heard from Peter in years. Thank God he is still with us! Long live this legendary player! Thanks so much for posting!

  • I think that Peter is playing better and looking better since the Splinter Group ended. He is enjoying himself alot more nowadays and has more confidence in himself as a musician.

    GO GREENY!!!

  • I luv F K and P G

  • It's a joy to see the great Peter Green seem healthy and happy with his life. Thanks for posting this song. Well done.

  • my god!.. very very nice!.. thanks fantastic!

  • Wonderful! so good to see Peter enjoying himself.

  • woo! Les Paul or no, he is still the best! I actually love his sound, then and now! GO GREENY!

  • man thats the good stuff.
