  • Schön gemacht,wirklich!

  • Wonderful Short Video

  • MriSatai that wasn't a fatal dragster crash with the Don Prudhomme interview- the driver survived but the crash is famous because it was the finals for the Indy Nationals and was on Wide World of Sports at the time. It was around '71 though.

  • @500stick it was 1970

  • Excellent video. Really portrays the thrill and dangers of motor racing. For some reason I started to feel really hot at 5:12 and broke out in a terrible sweat. I wonder why...

  • like 3 or 4 crashs at fomoso

  • awesome!

  • If you seach for the Frank Lockhart crash you will see that the crash at .034 was the Lockhart crash at the Daytona beach.

  • @lyon406 Yes; April 25, 1928. Going about 210 mph, I believe.

  • I felt the music competing with the video. But otherwise this was a great job!

  • If anyone ever doubts todays safty stanards needs to take a look at this~Thanks~Extremely well done~

  • Man and Machine. This is where one or the other breaks the laws of nature and both pay the price. streetrodmemories-com

  • AWESOME!!!

  • sweet vid, you are the man

  • at 5:09 that wheelie was sick!!!

  • Definitely some pretty spicy crashes fer fuck sakes.

  • 0.34 Frank Lockhart, One of the greatest racers of all times. The remains of his car were buried in the sand were he died. They were dug up in the early eighties, but where are they now?? The engine out of that car was used in a few Indy races by other people. Very unique twin crankcase engine that was designed by F.Lockhart.

    R.I.P

  • @lyon406 Hi and greetings from Wales UK, hate to correct anyone on here but that was actually Parry Thomas in the car `Babs` attempting the world land speed record on Pendine Sands here in Wales, he was killed when one of the drive chains to the rh rear wheel let go and by most accounts cut him in two and flipped the car.

  • @schanche1965

I had read that he had a habit of driving with his head tilted to the right and when the chain (same side) let go basically took his head off.

  • This vid is great and funny

  • 6:24 Mauri Rose

  • ''excellent''

  • Arfons was the luckiest one of them all.

  • Very sobering vid.

Very glad we keep learning how to keep racers alive.

We are a strange but marvelous species.

  • Yes 0:34 watch close near end of that clip Frank was ejected and his body was throne some 50' from car!, sad point he had sent a telegram to his mom telling her she can stop sewing because after he set the land speed record she would never have to work agian!! the next day he died R I P Frank Lochart

  • speeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed !!!!!

  • 0.34 - Frank Lochart?

  • stupid idiot at 1:50

  • esta bueno

  • wow. very most of thoese accidents are rare. I've seen most of them for the 1st time.

  • Back in the day open cockpit, leather helmet and no seat belt.

"You will never stop! You will be able to leave it alone. You will never get use to the atmosphere".... ha ha awesome.

  • great sound track. i could listen to that even without the video

  • Looks like some nostalgia funny car footage from the 2006 March Meet. Great sound track.

  • That's Craig Breedlove talking. This makes you want to go racing doesn't it?

  • amazing video the best!

    great music

  • is300ss, get hold of a copy of "Decade of Thrills II" and you will see quite plainly that 4.44 was not fatal ...as the commentary said, cut through all layers of his firesuit but he survived. However they did say that armco was a bad thing and concrete retaining walls are better.

  • Say, the slingshot tearing itself in half @ 4:20-ish, that wouldn't be the Prudhomme - Nicolls race from 1970, would it? Legend has it that Nicolls (the left lane from our perspective) climbed out of the wreck shouting "I WON! I WON!" while Prudhomme was certain that he had died in the clutch explosion which sawed the car in half... I'd say he was one lucky due walking out of that one with all his parts still attached! Great video!

  • Prudhomme:"I think i'm gonna QUIT"

  • 4:44 DEAD...

the one time the guard rail is a bad thing?

  • This is like a brainwash tape, that voice i the back......

  • WTF with this guy saying "you'll never be able to leave it alone"? Who the heck is him?

    Very nice video, anyway.

  • if it were brainwashing, you wouldnt know about it. pointing out the potential brainwashing, makes it, not brainwashing... lol

but i know what you mean...

  • That's Donald Campbell, British speed king (1921-1967) who was and is the only person ever to hold both the land speed record and the world water speed record in the same year - 1964. He was killed on Coniston Water on 4th January 1967 attempted to break his own world water speed record at 300 mph. His boat Bluebird K7 was recovered in 2001 and is currently being re-built.

  • cool video

  • that bud rocket car broke the sound barrier one way..the infinity car was a real shame

  • where can I find the whole Budweiserrocket video?

  • I realy admire all those early year dare devills who gave their lives in the quest for speed and also those who are doing it today.

  • 4:24 practicly what happened to john force

  • WOW! What a great video. Love the funny car wreck at 5:35 where the car rolls, sheds its body, the flips back on all fours to finish the race!

  • That roll on the beach is Frank Lockhart and that was 1928. Killed him dead when his head took the weight and momentum of the rolling car Black Hawk. Front blowout.

  • I can't leave this Video Alone.... Awesome compilation .......

  • diggerfanjsb he was an brittish racer one or not the fastest man he was in a rocket powerd car! i think they were rollce royce engines[since ww1 rollce royce has been the engine provider for the r.a.f.] look him up sometime!

  • Crashes, the only reason I watch Nascar XD

  • Awesome video! ...some historical footage in this video. Who was that at the beginning, with the quote, "I have survived the fastest crash that mankind has ever survived"?

  • The guy in bed is Donald Campbell who said that.... He eventually was killed in Bluebird K7 attempting the World Water Record.....

  • Thanks for the info!

  • You will NEVER be able to leave it alone...Great stuff, thanx for the Rod Serling of racing.

  • This rocks my fragile mind. Thanks for posting !!!!!

  • Very well done.

  • Awesum vid...sum of those looked pretty bad, the only one i no was fatal was at :31 where the wreck killed frank lockhart

  • damn! that was really ugly...

    nice work.

a minute's silence for these ones who were involved in fatal accidents.

  • Very well made. Even though there were fatal crashes, I enjoyed the way you put this together. The music seemed to fit the action very well. BTW, that last crash (Ron Eulenfeld @ Daytona 1965), I have color footage of it and has 4 different angles. It was indeed a scary one. Good job on this!

  • Nicely done, good editing and sound :)

  • thanks

  • Hey Scot,

    thanks for this one! :)

  • pretty cool!!

  • nice !
