Since catholics believe that salvation is only to be obtained, thru the catholic church, why are they then not out trying to convert the non-catholics? always sorta wondered...
@88momart "Since Catholics believe that salvation is only to be obtained thru the catholic church"........false assumption......Catholics recognize non Catholic Christians as "departed brethern" who can possess faith in Christ, but do not have the fulness of the Gospel.
@prairiemark The Catholic Organization is full of Blasphemy, Idolatry, Abominations & they have NO authority what-so-ever over the Word of God. They are as Pagan as you can get....might as well be Hindus, Buddhist or Muslims......Reject what the Bible says & you'll be in Hell with them. PS: It's to your benefit if you stop using the word Church when you say Catholic. They are a condemned ORGANIZATION........and they're taking many into condemnation WITH them.
@JesusHoldMyHand1 I was a Fundamentalist Protestant for many, many years and I came kicking and screaming against my will into a fuller understanding of the Gospel. Thank God he didnt give up on me when I wrote hateful things about Catholics.
@prairiemark I'm too busy praying for you, so I'm deleting your posts from my inbox. You've been told the TRUTH, now it's up to the Holy Spirit to try........that is if you've been CALLED, CHOSEN & PREDESTINED. Ephesians 1:4-5, 11-2; 1Peter 1:1-2. BTW, Peter was never a pope. He was an Apostles to the Jews, Paul was the Apostles to Rome & the Gentiles. Galatians 2:7-8 & Romans 11:13 - But of course, you won't believe that either. False Doctrine you are representing!!!
salvation does not come following the Law. Righteousness is not from Belief but by active faith in Jesus as Lord of your life. If no actions or works comes from faith in Jesus than the faith is not active. We must have the fruits of Faith or the faith is useless. We must remember that Faith is the start and our faith leads to active working of the Holy Spirit. Faith alone is not what even Jesus taught. Jesus said the works of Jesus is to believe in HIM as God's Son and have actions
@Dystopiologist And if you want to be a saint too, you need to repent of your sins, including your heresy. You need to turn to Jesus and put your trust in Him alone for your salvation, and He will save you. After that, walk in obedience to Him, being sanctified by His Word. You have the knowledge of the truth, if you reject it, all you can expect is a certain "fearful judgment." Flee from the wrath to come, and the law of Moses which condemns you, and find refuge in Christ the Messiah.
@Dystopiologist I do not defy Scripture, the Word of God is 100% true. You believe in the Romish twistings, which suit their pagan hierarchy. I am a saint, and I will eventually reign with Christ. All True Believers are saints - all Protestants hold to this, and in the Bible the word saint describes all Christians. People like Mother Theresa are not saints - for example, she denied Jesus was the only way to heaven. She likely went to hell.
@Dystopiologist Further notice that "Mother" Teresa was less dogmatic about Catholicism as you are, but was declared a Saint in March 2009. She told the Hindu's to pray to their gods as they died. According to Teresa the Heretic, your faith, irregardless of placement, saves, and she would consider your efforts pointless, as I and all these others are saved. Do you agree with her damnable heresy? The fact is, Catholicism is a bunch of superstitious, pagan garbage, unfit for a Christian.
Hate sells. It's unfortunate, but true. There's also another saying: "The Truth hurts. . .", and that's because opening up to objective truth usually means that changes will have to be made on the part of the believer.
Blathering about others being "in hell". Totally ignoring Scripture if it doesn't suit your hatred. Obviously not a scholar, you are dripping with low-class, ghetto-grade stereotypes about issues you don't understand.
@Dystopiologist How convenient of you to totally ignore the "Mother" Teresa question by criticizing my opinion that she is in hell based on what she believed. If she did not believe that Jesus was the only Way, Truth and Life, then she did not go to heaven, period. No mans works will save them. I will stand before Jesus Christ and I will be given an eternal reward for my service to Him. I know this. You also ignored the sainthood claims. Again, I am a saint. I am forgiven my sins, I believe.
I've been debating Protestants for years now. Protestants and I go back and forth on various issues - but NOBODY would dare to suggest that Christ didn't change Simon's name to "Cephas".
.
But you and I don't have much to discuss. If you don't believe in the Bible, you're obviously your own "god" I guess.
@Dystopiologist Why have you been debating Protestants for years? Does the Pope? No. Like Mr. John Paul Mr. Ratzinger endorses the ecumenical movement. John Paul said even the Muslim's worship the same god, and he worshipped with Buddhists. If he can worship with pagans, why are you criticizing Protestants? Why are you wasting your time? And if the Bible isn't absolutely clear that Jesus changed Simon's name, why dwell on it? If Jesus did, ok then, good, it still doesn't make him the pope.
@Dystopiologist I don't believe Jesus did, the Bible does not clearly state that He did. He may have, but I believe the evidence is against it. However, it is really pointless. It's only important for a Catholic because his whole religion hinges on such trivial, secondary things. At any rate, you must admit the evidence of your position is certainly not solid, so your whole religion rests on unsolid evidence, that if true, doesn't necesarrily mean you're correct anyway.
@Dystopiologist So, when are you going to buy your plane ticket to Rome to tell Mr. Ratzinger to stop being so ecumenical? Are you going to visit John Paul's tomb and pray say a pagan prayer for the dead so that God may forgive his sin of worshipping alongside pagans, in a horrific display of spiritual whoredom (it's not really whoredom when you consider the Pope was never a Christian to begin with, but a pagan like the Buddhists).
'Tell you what: Why don't we have a serious discussion?
.
You say you're a Christian; I say I'm a Christian. We disagree. Why don't we sit down and see what Scripture really says, like a couple of "noble Bereans" as opposed to YouTube clowns. Something Jesus would be proud of, perhaps.
You pick the topic - one at a time though, so we can really deal with it. If you can find something unChristian or unScriptural about my Faith, I'll repent.
@Dystopiologist Ok then, how about we bring it to the YouTube private messages, what way our posts can be longer, and also private, which too is good. I'll send you the first. I do agree that Jesus would like His children to do acts out of a Berean attitude, and out of a sense of love.
Calling MacArthur hateful is an ignorant comment. Nobody has as much "to answer for" as the RCC, for the millions it has deceived during the past 17 centuries.
I was a Protestant for 40 years. I thought just like you. But, then, I thought that I'd look into the Catholic Church really teaches - and I found it to be the MOST biblical. That makes sense - the bible CAME from the Catholic Church.
You don't know what the Church really teaches. I encourage you to get past the lies and anti-Catholic propaganda.
I am really surprised by the lack of scholarship I see here. Not a single one of you will crack open the Bible and defend your beliefs. I'm truly astounded.
.
The fact is that you would all rather simply follow this deceiver, who cherry-picks verses and twists them to his own anti-Christian purpose, blindly.
.
Why cannot any of you "man-up" here? Do you really read the Bible? Or, do you simply follow teachers of falsehood like John MacArthur?
@Dystopiologist MacAurthur provides plenty of Scripture in his videos, of course I read the Bible, I read it tons. I love the Bible. And if you research history, you'll discover that Catholic communion is a mere Baal worship ritual and Mary nor any other saint was ever meant to be prayed to. Constantine just went over mithraism with a Christian theme. Mary takes the place of Semiramis, or Ishtar, in Catholicism. I was born into a Catholic family, I am well acquainted with the false religion.
Trust me, you know nothing. Protestantism doesn't even make sense - the two pillars (sola Scriptura and sole fide) are both NEW, unbiblical doctrines (the former isn't even in the Bible, and the latter many Protestants agree isn't scriptural).
.
You're an ex-Catholic? I find that they're the hardest to talk with about the Church. I converted to the Church after 40 years in the wilderness, studying just about every different denomination there is.
@Dystopiologist The Catholics aren't even a denomination. They're a whole different religion. All Christian's are priests, the only priests who wore raiments in the Old Testament were those of Baal, and incidently the Catholic raiment is identical to pagan raiment. Look at the Pope's hats and the priests of Dagon, Baal, and Mithra. Not all Protestants are saved either, those who reject sola fide are Pelagians or some other type of heretic. You need faith alone in Christ alone.
The Catholic Church did a horrible job of catechizing people back in your day. But even as traditional, longtime Catholics fall away because they don't understand Catholic teaching, top theologians flock TO the Church. Francis Beckwith, Scott Hahn, Kenneth Howell, etc. etc.
.
You THINK that you know the Catholic Church - but I assure you, you don't.
@Dystopiologist Many good theologians have left the Catholic church too. Being a theologian is irrelevant. I do know the Catholic church very well. The nuns are mere vestal virgins of Greco-Roman paganism. In Christ there is no laity, we're all priests, the doctrine of hierarchy is the sin of the Nicolatians (nico - laity - above laity) in Revelation. The true church is all the believers in Christ all over the world, regardless of denomination. John 3:14-18 my friend.
@Dystopiologist The church is the body of believers all over the world. I want to plant local churches. They will be nondenominational, it will simply be a fellowship of believers in Christ that would meet in homes or perhaps a rented building - I want money to be spent on evangelizing, not building upkeep. It will be similar to what you see on Xenos' website. The statement of faith would be similar to the salvation page on the Bibleone website.
So, are you "infallible"? Do you have the authority to simply declare what Statement of Faith to use, and how we should interpret Scripture?
.
That's not how Christ set the Church up, my friend. Christ's Church is heirarchical (Eph 4:11) and Apostolic - we see Jesus giving specific authority to the Twelve, and Peter in particular.
.
There is only ONE flock, and ONE shepherd. You cannot just go out and be your own show.
@Dystopiologist No, God has the authority, not some antichrist pope in the order of Jupiter. God has the statement of faith. Jesus said what one must be do to be saved. They need to be born again. It has nothing to do with a church full of silly meaningless rituals lead by what are too often child molesters and homosexuals. Jesus did not give any special authority to Peter, Jesus has the authority reserved solely to himself. Jesus is the rock of the church, Peter was a follower.
Well my friend, you have been decieved. You've pretty much bought the whole package - but you didn't come to your decision through objective study; rather, you simply believe phonies like MacArthur.
.
Want proof? The proof is that you won't be able to actually back any of this stuff up. Odd are about 90% (judging from experience here) you will run away, like pretty much all of MacArthur's followers do. When you do, remember my words.
Here's an example: Read Matthew 18: 17-18. You recall the story. But the passage makes no sense if the "church" is, as you say, the "general body of believers".
.
The story is clearly calling upon increasing levels of authority - the final level being the Church. Of course, there is only ONE Church (1 Cor 1:10, Eph 4:3-6, Jn 10:16, etc.), and that Church is the FINAL authority. Obviously it is not simply the "general body of believers"...
@Dystopiologist I don't get that out of that passage at all. The church is the body of believers, if someone sins against you, you tell those you fellowship with. Jesus is the only authority, there is no increasing levels. The Catholic church has 0 authority, what earthly power is has it has abused to slaughter innocents. I don't know why you're so pious about your church, Pope John Paul was not, he was praying with Muslims and Budhists and glorifying their paganism. Some "Christian" he was.
So there's my challenge to you. Prove me wrong: YOU pick a topic (Mary, Purgatory, Works/Faith, Pope, etc.). Please tell me why the Catholic Church isn't "the fullness" of Christianity, and in fact, the MOST biblical.
@Dystopiologist Ok, but only because I don't want any man to perish, and because your zeal for a false religion will be a great benefit to Jesus if you turn to Him and away from the doctrines of man. Let's start with the Pope. You're more zealous than he is. Mother Teresa told the dying Hindu's to pray to their own gods. Pope John Paul prayed in Buddhist Temples and kissed the Koran. The Pope really started with Constantine after 500 AD. The Pope wears pagan regalia.
@Dystopiologist I am not a legalist, yes I do celebrate Christmas in the 25th, knowing full well that it is merely the pagan solstice day and Christ was not born in December. I do get a Christmas tree, out of tradition, knowing full well the tradition originates in Ashtoreth worship. The Pope on the other hand wears pagan regalia and thinks it is holy, that God wants him to wear that pagan filth. He adorns himself in riches while millions suffer. I am a priest of God. All Christians are.
@Dystopiologist Additionally, Peter was not a Pope. He was an apostle and a disciple of Jesus Christ, unto the CIRCUMCISION. Unto the Jews. He never ever went to Rome. Paul did. You figure Clement of Rome would have mentioned Peter.. he never did, but he mentioned Paul plenty of times, knowing Paul personally. The rock of the church was what Peter said, and Jesus is the rock. The Pope is essentially the line of Roman Mithraic Pontifex Maximus's. BTW what does the Bible say about honorific title?
Okay, since you seem to be prone to making authoritative statements, I have to ask you: What authority do you claim? Is MacArthur getting "Divine revelations"?
.
1) Even most Protestant scholars concede that Catholic Tradition is "probably" (their view) correct, and Peter was crucified in Rome. Where do you come along and declare "he never went to Rome"??
@Dystopiologist My authority is the Bible. It says Peter was the apostle unto circumcision. MacArthur gets his revelations from the Bible too, that''s where they are found. I don't agree with "most" protestants scholars. The Bible is clear that Paul went to Rome, and the early church fathers don't say Peter was there. Simon Peter was there, the gnostic Samarian witchcraft practitioner. He was deified and buried at Vatican Hill. Maybe he's your real first pope.
Secondly, even Johnny Mac understands that there is a clear "primacy" to Peter. But Jesus unmistakably calls PETER "Rock" - his very name is changed to Rock (Cephas). Maybe you haven't read this passage? (Mt 16:18)
@Dystopiologist Read verse 16: The rock is the confession that Jesus Christ is the Messiah. He never changed his name. Peter's name literally means rock, it always did, Jesus didn't have to change it.
So, when he addresses him (with a Blessing) as "Simon bar Jonah", and then says "thou art Rock", Jesus is just reminding him what his middle name (or something like that) is??
.
That's utterly ridiculous - there is clearly a name change here. No serious scholar would propose this.
@Dystopiologist There is no name change at all, many Catholics don't even consider it a name change. His father's name was Jonah, and their surnames were Peter. In Matthew 16 Simon Peter was already being called Simon Peter, and that was prior to this vague "name change." Yes, the entire Catholic dogma rests on a misinterpreted verse. I don't expect you to admit that I am right, to do so would be to admit Catholicism is a false religion.
"He appointed Twelve to be with Him, also that He might dispatch them to preach, with the power to cast out demons; there was Simon, whom He surnamed Peter, etc. etc." (Mark 3:14-16).
@Dystopiologist It was his name prior to the confession Peter made. He gave other Disciples nicknames as well. For example, John was a "Son of Thunder." Peter was his surname before. It was his faith, his faith, and resulting confession was the rock. The rock therefore is Christ. Just because Jesus called Peter the rock, does not mean he was the first Pope. The first Pope didn't come around until after 500 A.D.
@Dystopiologist BTW Mark was a saint, but so am I, you can call me Saint Rokwing if you would like. Oh dear, I may have violated one of the vaunted unbiblical Catholic fake sins of "presumption." Yes, I am a saint.
@rokwing You are right. You are a saint because you believe in Jesus and accepts Him as your Saviour. In the new testament, believers and followers of Christ are called saints, and they don't even have to be dead to be called such. One of many examples in the new testament is Romans 1:7 where the Apostle Paul addressed the christians in Rome as "beloved of God, called to be saints". Catholics such as dysiopiologist are spirtually blind; they don't even understand the simple word of God.
@Dystopiologist It doesn't mean a name change. Jesus did not say "Hey Simon, I am randomly changing your name to Peter, so stop going by your first name, go by your surname, which I now made your first name. Also, I am making you the first Pope. I know you have no idea what a Pope is, but you should go to Rome, start wearing pagan vestments, and arrogantly proclaim yourself infallible."
@rokwing . Oh my goodness! Here's a review of Frank Viola's book by a Bible-believing Protestant: . w ww(dot)bible(dot)ca/ef/topical-pagan-christianity-reviewed(dot)htm . This reviewer get the impression that Frank Viola considers himself above Scripture: . "He steers us away from the New Testament, then recommends his next book as our next step." , Wow. Do you have some affinity for radical, egotistical polemicists like Viola and MacArthur? What's up here?
@Dystopiologist Yeah, one review I deeply disagree with. I will start planting true organic churches like Viola advocates. Read the book rather than cherry-picked reviews.
@Dystopiologist Don't make me laugh. That 'church' that tortured and murdered tens-of-millions of bible-believing christians for more than a millenium? That 'church' that refused the printing and distribution of the Word of God in familiar languages in order to keep the masses in damning ignorance and superstition that it could hide it's own satanic origin and inspiration? That same 'church' that plays politics and manipulated kingdoms as if Christ's kingdom is earthly? Read John18:36.
Corruption of MEN is horrible - but it has NOTHING to do with the truth of doctrine. If it did, we'd have to call Christ Himself into question, as He picked a bunch of sinners as Apostles, including a thief and a traitor.
Oh, and where do you think that the Bible came from, genius?! Please tell us!
@Dystopiologist Where have you been??? How many translators of the scripture were murder during the reformation? Does the name Tyndale ring a bell to you? The scriptures were completed by the end of the 1st century AD by the Lord's apostles. And the concept of sola scriptura is NOT new. That was the very seed of the reformation that Rome tried to suppress because as soon as discerning people got a copy of the true scripture that 'church' could not hide its shameful lies in broad day.
@Dystopiologist And a good history book or 2 while you're at it. For brevity's sake i'll give you 2 passages to chew on. "I am the the way, the truth, and the life; no-one comes to the Father but by Me."John14:6 And Acts4:12. That leaves Mary out of it. I won't bother adressing other issues because the 'church' evolves and adapts it's philosophy according to the times and environments it finds itself. In direct contrast to the Holy Scripture. Did you actually LISTEN to what John Macarthur says?
Two doctrines of the reformers were sola scriptura and sola fide. Sola scriptura is nowhere to be found in the scriptures. Sola fide is found in one place. The words "not by" come before it.(James ch 2) THAT is a hard truth. "All wrongdoing is sin, but there is some sin which is not mortal." (1st John). This man will go to heaven I pray, but not before a long stint in Purgatory.(1st Cor ch 3)
He is misrepresenting the Catholic position, and ignoring a massive amount of Scripture. He is a good propagandist - but he is a liar.
Catholics do NOT believe that you can "work your way to heaven". We DO believe that one is saved by Faith - which is an unmerited grace.
But we do not believe that one is simply "saved", once-and-for-all, just because one makes an altar call. One must turn one's will toward God - and that will include good works, to the extent that one is able.
@Dystopiologist The whole works or no works; That is hardly the main thing in all these segments. It is just a part. And he is absolutely right about the whole Romans Catholic religion and its origin. The scriptures are what make it obvious that people are in a sytem that has tramples on the word of God.
You're making a false dichotomy. Faith is a much broader concept - it is a whole turning of the will toward Christ. Yes - we are saved by God's unmerited grace, however, we must respond to that grace with our whole being.
To say that we are saved once-and-for-all by some formulaic expression, and thereafter our deeds have no role in things, goes against Scripture.
@Dystopiologist I agree with you one hundred percent. It is Gods gift that one can be saved, but you have to show your appreciation for that gift. Now showing appreciation does not mean that you have earned that gift. Showing appreciation sinmply shows how much that gift means to you. Faith is evident by our works and dead without them.
@Dystopiologist The works are doing Gods will. They are not general as donating to the goodwill. Even athiests do good works like that. To be a christian means to live the life that Jesus lived. He was our example of what to do. All you have to do is find out what did Jesus do while he was here that he told his followers to do also?
@Dystopiologist Are you ready for some scriptures that clearly state what true Christians are supposed to do? Did you know that Jesus was sent here to do more than die for our sins? He had a message for the world to hear and he told us to do the same. Do you know what that message is?
@Dystopiologist Yes preaching the gospel. The gospel is about Gods kingdom which Jesus is Kings of right now. This is what he told his disciples to preach to all the nations. The good news of the kingdom is the theme. And Romans 15:5,6 tell us exactly who to glorify. The question is - Do you Glorify the God and Father of Jesus Christ?
Glorifying God is done in countless ways, of course. For example, helping the poor - Jesus said that when you help them, you "do for Me. . ." Art can glorify God too.
Sure - all honor and glory go to God. What's your point?
@Dystopiologist I like your answer, but Jesus set an example for us as to what the most important word is. Even athiest give to the poor, but an athiest is not going to preach about the Good news of the kingdom. The kingdom is what is going to fix all the wrong that started with that lie in Eden. Do you actually know who the Father is?
@Dystopiologist The "Jews" as in a person born a "Jew' are no longer Gods chosen people. When they killed Jesus that was the end of them being Gods chosen people by birth. Now the Jews of God are Jews in a spiritual sense not a physical one. And I'm not about to take any leaps beyond scriptures. The Jews were wrong not to utter Gods name. He wants his name known in all the earth. Remember what He told Pharoah?
So - God broke is Covenant with the Jews, huh? Why don't you show me that in Scripture.
.
And where did you get the "name" thing? John 17 said isn't talking about just a "name", luv. In fact, the word "know", in the Hebrew sense, hearkens toward a covenantal relationship (something like a marriage).
You know what - I don't want to send you on a wild goose chase; you are right about the Jews having broken their end of the Covenant.
HOWEVER, the jury is still out on whether a faithful Jew can get into heaven or not. All salvation is through Christ, of course. But many theologians feel that Christ will still save a faithful Jew who, through no fault of their own, doesn't know Jesus, but follows the Commandments and God, to the best of his/her ability.
@Dystopiologist I am letting you know that Gods name was important to Jesus. And Jesus said that he would declare Gods name to his brothers. Hebrews 2:12,13. Remember that Jesus said he is the Way, the Truth. and the Life; And that no one comes to the Father except through him? Well he also says that he will declare Gods Name to his Brothers. So his Brothers do know Gods name. It is not a mystery. God wants everyone to hold his name as sacred and holy. Matthew 6:9,10.
Okay. I don't really disagree. The Hebrews of Jesus' time saw a "name" and the "person" as almost the same thing; that's why name changes were so significant.
@Dystopiologist That is a common belief amongst Catholics but it is not true. Matthew 21:42; Acts 4:11; Isaiah 28:16; Mark 12:10; Ephesians 2:20-22; What Jesus said to Peter has been missused for nearly 2,000 years. The rock was always Jesus. And as far as what Jesus said to Peter, look at this scripture also - Matthew 18:18 The same as he told Peter applied to all the Apostles.
@Dystopiologist I'm not saying that Jesus didn't name Simon, Peter. The prase that Jesus said to Peter is misunderstood. What did all those scriptures that I shared with you say about who is the Cornerstone of the Church. The scriptures are here to clear up misunderstandings and give us the Truth. 2Timothy 3:16,17. The Scriptures are the final authority. Jesus is the Foundation not Peter.
@Dystopiologist I like those scriptures and 1 Timothy 3:15 a pillar and support of the truth is Gods household. That does not negate what 2 Tim 3:16, 17 says. Heberews 4:12, 13 add to it. John 17:17; Ephesians 6:17. The Bible was put here for us to know the Truth; John 4:23,24.
@Dystopiologist How can you know the True Church? By The bible just like 2Timothy 3:16,17 says. "For reproof, For Correction,... Does your church stand up to the Scriptures is the question? Paul told us of the apostasy that would come, and it did. It has dominated the scene for nearly 2,000 years and people are being shown by scriptures what that is. The catholic church is the easiest to show to be out of harmony with Scripture.
@Dystopiologist MacArthur is not important to me. What I mean by that is that I had never heard of him before seeing this video. I know the Catholic Church is the most agressive Church against what the Bible teaches. Almost everything that it teaches is a direct crossing of Pagan worship mixed with Christianity. And Yes they killed holy ones not heretics. And the killing of heretics is not biblical for Gods children. The bible is clear of who would be killing who.
@Dystopiologist You are right it will stand until the end of time. However you are wrong in who that "Church" is. Are you going to be another Catholic that brushes away all the people that the catholic "Church" had killed? That blood shed never washes away.
Diva, did you ever notice that God ALWAYS spoke through authoritative men in history? Moses, Samuel, the Prophets? God never handed out books, etc. - there was always an authoritative Church, both before and after Christ.
.
Jesus did NOT hand out Bibles. He charged the Apostles AND their successors with authority ("he who hears you, hears Me", etc.).
.
Jesus DID found a Church - ONE Church, that would last until the end of the age.
@Dystopiologist And Paul told you that the Apostasy would come first. 2Thessalonians 2:3. In fact maybe it would be good to read all of the second chapter of 2 Thessalonians. What Church forbid its Priests to marry?
There are actually married priests in the Catholic Church. But celibacy has ALWAYS been a very Christian thing:
.
Jesus Himself praises celibacy in Mt 19:12. Jesus was celibate himself, and so was St. Paul. It's recommended in 1 Cor 7:32-35, and praised in 1 Tim 5:9-12.
Oh, and you cannot judge by the sinfulness of the Church's members. Christ did not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
Jesus picked Judas, didn't He? That doesn't invalidate His teaching. ALL of the Apostles were sinners, just like we are - but they were Christ's Apostles nevertheless.
@Dystopiologist I am not Judging anybody. I am merely sharing the Truth with you. It wasn't the members that had people killed; It was the clergy that killed people. The members are warned to get out while they can. Remember what Jesus said to the Scribes and Pharisees? Matthew 23:29-32. When true Christians were given this 1John 3:10-12; What Religion is guilty of this?
Good point - Jesus condemns INDIVIDUALS; those Scribes and Pharasees who pervert the Law for their own purpose. But nowhere does he say that somehow their teachings are bad.
In fact, He says the opposite: He says follow their teachings (because they actually know right from wrong), but don't follow their example (because they willingly sin anyway; hence they are hypocrites).
.
There is a big difference between personal sinfulness and one's office. Again, Judas was an Apostle!
@Dystopiologist The Roman Catholic Church is guilty of the shedding of Blood for way too long now. Tell me can you go to war and kill another Catholic in another Country and still be Okay with the church?
@Dystopiologist Matthew 13:24-30. Yes the weeds would be there, but they will be separated one from another. And are you saying that Judas was not replaced? And that Jesus did not say that it would be better if he was never born?
@Dystopiologist The bible was written for our instruction. What did Jesus say? John 8:32? You will know the "Truth" and the truth will set you free. What you are calling bad Catholics had the full blessing of the priests in their respective countries. I'm letting you know that your leaders have a long standing in war. And that is a historical fact. Just because they apologized hundreds of years later for the Inquisitions does not change anything. They still condone wars.
Okay, I guess you've just given up. You can't really find anything wrong with the official TEACHINGS of the Church.
Let me guess - you've got a chip on your shoulder from childhood. Maybe the nuns were mean (which they often were), or worse - and you haven't gotten over it. That's a shame, of course - but it has nothing to do with whether Catholic doctrine is right or wrong.
@Dystopiologist Show me how the Popes are different than the Scribes and Pharisees. Don't Catholics call the Pope, Father? Another direct contradiction of the bible.
@Dystopiologist No it doesn't. What Judas did should serve as a reminder to us all because he was right there with Jesus and he still betrayed him. He handed him over to be killed for some money. So should we not be even more careful and make sure of all things? Judas was replaced. And Jesus said it would be better for him to not have been born. That can't be good.
You know, that's a big Atheist argument. The Jimmy Swaggart scandal, the Jimmy Bakker thing, Benny Hihn, the Salem Witch Trials, the Protestant wars -
.
Atheists try to say that this means Christianity isn't true. That's a B.S. line of reasoning.
@Dystopiologist Of course not. We have to recognize that we are all sinners, but that does not give us the excuse to go and kill after we have become "Christians" Becoming a "Christian" is a sacred and special "Honor". And we are not to kill. How can we kill our own brothers simply because their country does not agree with the country we live in. National boundaries do not separate true Brothers.
@Dystopiologist Exactly - Protestants killed Protetstants, Protestants killed Catholics and vice versa. And Catholics also went and killed Muslims and vice versa; And yet what do the scriptures say about all this killing? 1John 3:12. Did you really think that because many people are guilty of it that it is okay? The narrow gate is the one to go through, said Jesus.
None of this sinfulness has ANYTHING to do with the truth, or untruth, of the Church.
.
You know, we've been going at it for hours now, and I can't for the life of me figure out exactly what your point is. Don't get me wrong; I enjoy discussing it - but what exactly do you think is "unbiblical" about the Catholic Church?
@Dystopiologist Yeah, we have been. I think I need to get some shut eye. If you want I will show you all the ways "Via" Scriptures that the Catholic Church is in direct opposition to almost everything biblical. Later on of course; right now I need to catch some zzzzzs
You mentioned that the Catholic Church would be the easiest "denomination" to discredit as being non-scriptural. I'm hoping that you'll do that.
.
You mentioned the Rosary. Are you of the opinion that Catholics dishonor God by saying: "Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb. . "?
@Dystopiologist Do you say Amen at the end of it? You are praying to Mary. Show where God gives the okay to pray to anyone other than himself and through anyone other than Jesus. Here are scriptures that show us who to pray to and who to pray through. Galatians 3:20; 1Timothy 2:5; Hebrews 7:25; Romans 8:34; John 15:16; John 16:23. Can you show me where Mary is an exception?
@Dystopiologist Calling someone blessed is not the same as "Praying" to them. Just look at Matthew chapter 5; Many people are called Blessed. But I see what you are saying. Look at what Jesus had to say about it at Luke 11:27,28. And do you still believe that Mary died a virgin?
@Dystopiologist Where did she pray to Mary? She called her Blessed. How could you not call her blessed for carrying Jesus in her womb? And at Matthew Chapter 5 we see Jesus calling a great many people blessed, but that does not mean we can pray to them. Or does it?
Okay then, let's define our terms. My Webster's Dictionary defines it as "1. To implore, beseech". When one files a motion in court, one "prays" for judgment in their favor (this is the actual terminology used).
.
That's also the Catholic meaning. "Prayer" is different than "worship".
I found this too: "Say, therefore, I pray thee, that thou art my sister: that I may be well used for thee, and that my soul may live for thy sake." (Gen 12:13). Abram is "praying" to Sarai, his wife.
.
But he is not "worshipping" her, as one should do only with God. He is simply "humbly beseeching".
So what do you call your male parent? Call no man father...... Stupid.

salvation does not come following the Law.

So - you defy Scripture, but fancy yourself a "Saint"?
Dystopiologist 1 year ago
@Dystopiologist I do not defy Scripture, the Word of God is 100% true. You believe in the Romish twistings, which suit their pagan hierarchy. I am a saint, and I will eventually reign with Christ. All True Believers are saints - all Protestants hold to this, and in the Bible the word saint describes all Christians. People like Mother Theresa are not saints - for example, she denied Jesus was the only way to heaven. She likely went to hell.
rokwing 1 year ago
@Dystopiologist Further notice that "Mother" Teresa was less dogmatic about Catholicism as you are, but was declared a Saint in March 2009. She told the Hindu's to pray to their gods as they died. According to Teresa the Heretic, your faith, irregardless of placement, saves, and she would consider your efforts pointless, as I and all these others are saved. Do you agree with her damnable heresy? The fact is, Catholicism is a bunch of superstitious, pagan garbage, unfit for a Christian.
rokwing 1 year ago
@rokwing
Good luck to you when you stand before the Lord.
Dystopiologist 1 year ago

Dystopiologist 1 year ago
@Dystopiologist Why have you been debating Protestants for years? Does the Pope? No. Like Mr. John Paul Mr. Ratzinger endorses the ecumenical movement. John Paul said even the Muslim's worship the same god, and he worshipped with Buddhists. If he can worship with pagans, why are you criticizing Protestants? Why are you wasting your time? And if the Bible isn't absolutely clear that Jesus changed Simon's name, why dwell on it? If Jesus did, ok then, good, it still doesn't make him the pope.
rokwing 1 year ago
@rokwing
Tell me then: Did Jesus change Simon's name to "Cephas" (Aramaic - or "Peter", Greek)?
Dystopiologist 1 year ago
@Dystopiologist I don't believe Jesus did, the Bible does not clearly state that He did. He may have, but I believe the evidence is against it. However, it is really pointless. It's only important for a Catholic because his whole religion hinges on such trivial, secondary things. At any rate, you must admit the evidence of your position is certainly not solid, so your whole religion rests on unsolid evidence, that if true, doesn't necesarrily mean you're correct anyway.
rokwing 1 year ago
@Dystopiologist So, when are you going to buy your plane ticket to Rome to tell Mr. Ratzinger to stop being so ecumenical? Are you going to visit John Paul's tomb and pray say a pagan prayer for the dead so that God may forgive his sin of worshipping alongside pagans, in a horrific display of spiritual whoredom (it's not really whoredom when you consider the Pope was never a Christian to begin with, but a pagan like the Buddhists).

Dystopiologist 1 year ago
@Dystopiologist MacAurthur provides plenty of Scripture in his videos, of course I read the Bible, I read it tons. I love the Bible. And if you research history, you'll discover that Catholic communion is a mere Baal worship ritual and Mary nor any other saint was ever meant to be prayed to. Constantine just went over mithraism with a Christian theme. Mary takes the place of Semiramis, or Ishtar, in Catholicism. I was born into a Catholic family, I am well acquainted with the false religion.
rokwing 1 year ago
@rokwing
Dystopiologist 1 year ago
@Dystopiologist The Catholics aren't even a denomination. They're a whole different religion. All Christian's are priests, the only priests who wore raiments in the Old Testament were those of Baal, and incidently the Catholic raiment is identical to pagan raiment. Look at the Pope's hats and the priests of Dagon, Baal, and Mithra. Not all Protestants are saved either, those who reject sola fide are Pelagians or some other type of heretic. You need faith alone in Christ alone.
rokwing 1 year ago
@rokwing
Dystopiologist 1 year ago
@Dystopiologist Many good theologians have left the Catholic church too. Being a theologian is irrelevant. I do know the Catholic church very well. The nuns are mere vestal virgins of Greco-Roman paganism. In Christ there is no laity, we're all priests, the doctrine of hierarchy is the sin of the Nicolatians (nico - laity - above laity) in Revelation. The true church is all the believers in Christ all over the world, regardless of denomination. John 3:14-18 my friend.
rokwing 1 year ago
@rokwing
So - you're going to start your own "church", are you? How do you know that your interpretation will be correct?
.
At some point, you'll need a "Statement of Faith", correct? Do you have one drafted up?
Dystopiologist 1 year ago
@Dystopiologist The church is the body of believers all over the world. I want to plant local churches. They will be nondenominational, it will simply be a fellowship of believers in Christ that would meet in homes or perhaps a rented building - I want money to be spent on evangelizing, not building upkeep. It will be similar to what you see on Xenos' website. The statement of faith would be similar to the salvation page on the Bibleone website.
rokwing 1 year ago
@rokwing
Dystopiologist 1 year ago
@Dystopiologist No, God has the authority, not some antichrist pope in the order of Jupiter. God has the statement of faith. Jesus said what one must be do to be saved. They need to be born again. It has nothing to do with a church full of silly meaningless rituals lead by what are too often child molesters and homosexuals. Jesus did not give any special authority to Peter, Jesus has the authority reserved solely to himself. Jesus is the rock of the church, Peter was a follower.
rokwing 1 year ago
@rokwing
Dystopiologist 1 year ago
@rokwing
.
Dystopiologist 1 year ago
@Dystopiologist I don't get that out of that passage at all. The church is the body of believers, if someone sins against you, you tell those you fellowship with. Jesus is the only authority, there is no increasing levels. The Catholic church has 0 authority, what earthly power is has it has abused to slaughter innocents. I don't know why you're so pious about your church, Pope John Paul was not, he was praying with Muslims and Budhists and glorifying their paganism. Some "Christian" he was.
rokwing 1 year ago
@rokwing
So there's my challenge to you. Prove me wrong: YOU pick a topic (Mary, Purgatory, Works/Faith, Pope, etc.). Please tell me why the Catholic Church isn't "the fullness" of Christianity, and in fact, the MOST biblical.
Dystopiologist 1 year ago
@Dystopiologist Ok, but only because I don't want any man to perish, and because your zeal for a false religion will be a great benefit to Jesus if you turn to Him and away from the doctrines of man. Let's start with the Pope. You're more zealous than he is. Mother Teresa told the dying Hindu's to pray to their own gods. Pope John Paul prayed in Buddhist Temples and kissed the Koran. The Pope really started with Constantine after 500 AD. The Pope wears pagan regalia.
rokwing 1 year ago
@rokwing
.
Do you wear a wedding ring?
.
Have you ever had a Christmas Tree? Do you celebrate Christmas on Dec. 25?
Dystopiologist 1 year ago
@Dystopiologist I am not a legalist, yes I do celebrate Christmas in the 25th, knowing full well that it is merely the pagan solstice day and Christ was not born in December. I do get a Christmas tree, out of tradition, knowing full well the tradition originates in Ashtoreth worship. The Pope on the other hand wears pagan regalia and thinks it is holy, that God wants him to wear that pagan filth. He adorns himself in riches while millions suffer. I am a priest of God. All Christians are.
rokwing 1 year ago
@rokwing
Why do you do these pagan things??
Dystopiologist 1 year ago
@Dystopiologist Additionally, Peter was not a Pope. He was an apostle and a disciple of Jesus Christ, unto the CIRCUMCISION. Unto the Jews. He never ever went to Rome. Paul did. You figure Clement of Rome would have mentioned Peter.. he never did, but he mentioned Paul plenty of times, knowing Paul personally. The rock of the church was what Peter said, and Jesus is the rock. The Pope is essentially the line of Roman Mithraic Pontifex Maximus's. BTW what does the Bible say about honorific title?
rokwing 1 year ago
@rokwing
.
Dystopiologist 1 year ago
@Dystopiologist My authority is the Bible. It says Peter was the apostle unto circumcision. MacArthur gets his revelations from the Bible too, that''s where they are found. I don't agree with "most" protestants scholars. The Bible is clear that Paul went to Rome, and the early church fathers don't say Peter was there. Simon Peter was there, the gnostic Samarian witchcraft practitioner. He was deified and buried at Vatican Hill. Maybe he's your real first pope.
rokwing 1 year ago
@rokwing
If your authority is the Bible - which Bible do you consider authoritative?
.
Do you use the complete O.T. that was used at Jesus' time?
.
Do you use the one where Martin Luther took out 6 books?
Dystopiologist 1 year ago
@rokwing
Secondly, even Johnny Mac understands that there is a clear "primacy" to Peter. But Jesus unmistakably calls PETER "Rock" - his very name is changed to Rock (Cephas). Maybe you haven't read this passage? (Mt 16:18)
Dystopiologist 1 year ago
@Dystopiologist Read verse 16: The rock is the confession that Jesus Christ is the Messiah. He never changed his name. Peter's name literally means rock, it always did, Jesus didn't have to change it.
rokwing 1 year ago
@rokwing
That's a new one! Where did you get that?!!
.
So, when he addresses him (with a Blessing) as "Simon bar Jonah", and then says "thou art Rock", Jesus is just reminding him what his middle name (or something like that) is??
.
That's utterly ridiculous - there is clearly a name change here. No serious scholar would propose this.
Dystopiologist 1 year ago
@Dystopiologist There is no name change at all, many Catholics don't even consider it a name change. His father's name was Jonah, and their surnames were Peter. In Matthew 16 Simon Peter was already being called Simon Peter, and that was prior to this vague "name change." Yes, the entire Catholic dogma rests on a misinterpreted verse. I don't expect you to admit that I am right, to do so would be to admit Catholicism is a false religion.
rokwing 1 year ago
@rokwing
.
So you disagree with St. Mark:
"He appointed Twelve to be with Him, also that He might dispatch them to preach, with the power to cast out demons; there was Simon, whom He surnamed Peter, etc. etc." (Mark 3:14-16).
.
It really doesn't get much clearer than this.
Dystopiologist 1 year ago
@Dystopiologist It was his name prior to the confession Peter made. He gave other Disciples nicknames as well. For example, John was a "Son of Thunder." Peter was his surname before. It was his faith, his faith, and resulting confession was the rock. The rock therefore is Christ. Just because Jesus called Peter the rock, does not mean he was the first Pope. The first Pope didn't come around until after 500 A.D.
rokwing 1 year ago

I'm amazed at your defiance to the clear Word of God. Scripture says that Christ "gave him" the name; you say He didn't.

rokwing 1 year ago
@rokwing You are right. You are a saint because you believe in Jesus and accepts Him as your Saviour. In the new testament, believers and followers of Christ are called saints, and they don't even have to be dead to be called such. One of many examples in the new testament is Romans 1:7 where the Apostle Paul addressed the christians in Rome as "beloved of God, called to be saints". Catholics such as dysiopiologist are spirtually blind; they don't even understand the simple word of God.

Mash494 1 year ago
@Dystopiologist And a good history book or 2 while you're at it. For brevity's sake i'll give you 2 passages to chew on. "I am the the way, the truth, and the life; no-one comes to the Father but by Me."John14:6 And Acts4:12. That leaves Mary out of it. I won't bother adressing other issues because the 'church' evolves and adapts it's philosophy according to the times and environments it finds itself. In direct contrast to the Holy Scripture.
Dystopiologist 1 year ago
@Dystopiologist The whole works or no works; That is hardly the main thing in all these segments. It is just a part.
Dystopiologist 1 year ago
@Dystopiologist I agree with you one hundred percent. It is Gods gift that one can be saved, but you have to show your appreciation for that gift. Now showing appreciation does not mean that you have earned that gift. Showing appreciation sinmply shows how much that gift means to you. Faith is evident by our works and dead without them.
ladivadivala 1 year ago
@ladivadivala
We pretty much agree! That's the Catholic view, btw.
Dystopiologist 1 year ago
@Dystopiologist The works are doing Gods will. They are not general as donating to the goodwill. Even athiests do good works like that. To be a christian means to live the life that Jesus lived. He was our example of what to do. All you have to do is find out what did Jesus do while he was here that he told his followers to do also?
ladivadivala 1 year ago
@ladivadivala
Are you asking me a question?
Dystopiologist 1 year ago
@Dystopiologist Yes I am. Do you know what Jesus told his followers to do until the end?
ladivadivala 1 year ago
@ladivadivala
A number of things - but two come to mind: "Watch and pray?"
Also, "He who perserveres to the end will be saved"?
Dystopiologist 1 year ago
@Dystopiologist Are you ready for some scriptures that clearly state what true Christians are supposed to do? Did you know that Jesus was sent here to do more than die for our sins? He had a message for the world to hear and he told us to do the same. Do you know what that message is?
ladivadivala 1 year ago
@ladivadivala
Okay. Why don't you tell me, please!
:-)
Dystopiologist 1 year ago
@Dystopiologist Matthew 4:23; Luke 4:43; Luke 8:1; Romans 15:5,6. Have you grasped the theme?
ladivadivala 1 year ago
@ladivadivala
The first three talk about Jesus preaching the Gospel; the fourth about Christian fellowship.
What's your point?
Dystopiologist 1 year ago
@Dystopiologist Yes preaching the gospel. The gospel is about Gods kingdom which Jesus is Kings of right now. This is what he told his disciples to preach to all the nations. The good news of the kingdom is the theme. And Romans 15:5,6 tell us exactly who to glorify. The question is - Do you Glorify the God and Father of Jesus Christ?
ladivadivala 1 year ago
@ladivadivala
I try as hard as I can.
Glorifying God is done in countless ways, of course. For example, helping the poor - Jesus said that when you help them, you "do for Me. . ." Art can glorify God too.
Sure - all honor and glory go to God. What's your point?
Dystopiologist 1 year ago
@Dystopiologist I like your answer, but Jesus set an example for us as to what the most important word is. Even athiest give to the poor, but an athiest is not going to preach about the Good news of the kingdom. The kingdom is what is going to fix all the wrong that started with that lie in Eden. Do you actually know who the Father is?
ladivadivala 1 year ago
@ladivadivala
No-one knows the Father except the Son. If you want an exact answer, that's beyond me - but I know Him as the 1st Person of the Holy Trinity.
Dystopiologist 1 year ago
@Dystopiologist John 17:3; If you don't know who the Father is then how can you have everlasting life?
ladivadivala 1 year ago
@ladivadivala
Jesus is praying to the Father that we do know Him. Sure, I seek Him with my whole heart.
And?
Dystopiologist 1 year ago
@Dystopiologist The Father is the God and Father of Jesus. Do you worship the Father? How can you worship a God without a name?
ladivadivala 1 year ago
@ladivadivala
Are you saying that we must "know all about Him", or that we must "know His name"?
The Jews dared not utter His name - but they were still the Chosen people. Where are you going with this?
Dystopiologist 1 year ago
@Dystopiologist The "Jews" as in a person born a "Jew' are no longer Gods chosen people. When they killed Jesus that was the end of them being Gods chosen people by birth. Now the Jews of God are Jews in a spiritual sense not a physical one. And I'm not about to take any leaps beyond scriptures. The Jews were wrong not to utter Gods name. He wants his name known in all the earth. Remember what He told Pharoah?
ladivadivala 1 year ago
@ladivadivala
Dystopiologist 1 year ago
@Dystopiologist Okay. I will show you in the scriptures that the Jews of the flesh are not Gods chosen people anymore. A few minutes.
ladivadivala 1 year ago
@ladivadivala
Dystopiologist 1 year ago
@Dystopiologist
Diva, the "Are Jews saved?" is a sidetrack.
What are you attempting to say in general?
Dystopiologist 1 year ago
@Dystopiologist I am letting you know that Gods name was important to Jesus. And Jesus said that he would declare Gods name to his brothers. Hebrews 2:12,13. Remember that Jesus said he is the Way, the Truth. and the Life; And that no one comes to the Father except through him? Well he also says that he will declare Gods Name to his Brothers. So his Brothers do know Gods name. It is not a mystery. God wants everyone to hold his name as sacred and holy. Matthew 6:9,10.
ladivadivala 1 year ago
@ladivadivala
Okay. I don't really disagree. The Hebrews of Jesus' time saw a "name" and the "person" as almost the same thing; that's why name changes were so significant.
Dystopiologist 1 year ago
@ladivadivala
Why do you think that Simon the Fisherman was the only Apostle to get a name change?
.
Jesus changed his name to "Rock", and promised to build His Church on him. (Matthew 16)
Dystopiologist 1 year ago
@Dystopiologist That is a common belief amongst Catholics but it is not true. Matthew 21:42; Acts 4:11; Isaiah 28:16; Mark 12:10; Ephesians 2:20-22; What Jesus said to Peter has been missused for nearly 2,000 years. The rock was always Jesus. And as far as what Jesus said to Peter, look at this scripture also - Matthew 18:18 The same as he told Peter applied to all the Apostles.
ladivadivala 1 year ago
@ladivadivala
You're telling me that Jesus named Himself "rock" in Mt. 16:18? What Bible are you using?!
The Greek "Petra/Petros" means "Rock" - and yet, we even know what Christ actually said because it is preserved for us in Scripture ("Kephas").
How can you not say that Peter didn't get a name change to "Rock"? Why isn't he called "Simon" any more after that?!
Dystopiologist 1 year ago
@Dystopiologist I'm not saying that Jesus didn't name Simon, Peter. The prase that Jesus said to Peter is misunderstood. What did all those scriptures that I shared with you say about who is the Cornerstone of the Church. The scriptures are here to clear up misunderstandings and give us the Truth. 2Timothy 3:16,17. The Scriptures are the final authority. Jesus is the Foundation not Peter.
ladivadivala 1 year ago
@ladivadivala
Really? The SCRIPTURES are the final authority?
Nowhere in the Bible does it say that. Here are two verses for you:
.
1 Tim 3:15 - What does this verse say is the "pillar and bulwark of the Truth"?
Mt 18:17-18 - Who is the final authority here?
.
Show me the verse that says that "Scripture is the FINAL authority"!
Dystopiologist 1 year ago
@Dystopiologist I like those scriptures and 1 Timothy 3:15 a pillar and support of the truth is Gods household. That does not negate what 2 Tim 3:16, 17 says. Heberews 4:12, 13 add to it. John 17:17; Ephesians 6:17. The Bible was put here for us to know the Truth; John 4:23,24.
ladivadivala 1 year ago
@ladivadivala
It's The Church, Diva. I can give you at least a dozen more verses.
But you will not be able to find a SINGLE verse that says that Scripture is the FINAL authority.
Dystopiologist 1 year ago
@Dystopiologist How can you know the True Church? By The bible just like 2Timothy 3:16,17 says. "For reproof, For Correction,... Does your church stand up to the Scriptures is the question? Paul told us of the apostasy that would come, and it did. It has dominated the scene for nearly 2,000 years and people are being shown by scriptures what that is. The catholic church is the easiest to show to be out of harmony with Scripture.
ladivadivala 1 year ago
@ladivadivala
Nope, it's not out of harmony! Diva, I was a Protestant for 40 years. I thought just like you did.
But what you THINK you know about the Catholic Church isn't really what you know. Guys like MacArthur love to keep the lies going.
.
But I discovered that the Catholic Church is actually the MOST biblical Church. That makes sense - the Bible is a Catholic document, isn't it?!
Dystopiologist 1 year ago
@Dystopiologist MacArthur is not important to me. What I mean by that is that I had never heard of him before seeing this video. I know the Catholic Church is the most agressive Church against what the Bible teaches. Almost everything that it teaches is a direct crossing of Pagan worship mixed with Christianity. And Yes they killed holy ones not heretics. And the killing of heretics is not biblical for Gods children. The bible is clear of who would be killing who.
ladivadivala 1 year ago
@ladivadivala
Well, Diva, test it and see. If it TRULY contradicts God's word, then reject it.
.
But trust me - it is the most misrepresented institution on the planet. It is universally hated.
.
And yet Christ promised that the Church, founded on "the Rock", would last until the end of time. Hell would not prevail against it.
Dystopiologist 1 year ago
@Dystopiologist You are right it will stand until the end of time. However you are wrong in who that "Church" is. Are you going to be another Catholic that brushes away all the people that the catholic "Church" had killed? That blood shed never washes away.
ladivadivala 1 year ago
@ladivadivala
Dystopiologist 1 year ago
@Dystopiologist And Paul told you that the Apostasy would come first. 2Thessalonians 2:3. In fact maybe it would be good to read all of the second chapter of 2 Thessalonians. What Church forbid its Priests to marry?
ladivadivala 1 year ago
@ladivadivala,
There are actually married priests in the Catholic Church.
Dystopiologist 1 year ago
@ladivadivala
Dystopiologist 1 year ago
@Dystopiologist I am not Judging anybody. I am merely sharing the Truth with you. It wasn't the members that had people killed; It was the clergy that killed people. The members are warned to get out while they can. Remember what Jesus said to the Scribes and Pharisees? Matthew 23:29-32. When true Christians were given this 1John 3:10-12; What Religion is guilty of this?
ladivadivala 1 year ago
@ladivadivala
Dystopiologist 1 year ago
@Dystopiologist The Roman Catholic Church is guilty of the shedding of Blood for way too long now. Tell me can you go to war and kill another Catholic in another Country and still be Okay with the church?
ladivadivala 1 year ago
@ladivadivala
Okay, Diva, JUST STOP. You're not even making sense. Your argument is invalid, and you know it.
There are always "weeds among the wheat" (Mt 13:47-48). God remains faithful even if human are not (2 Tim 2:13)
Dystopiologist 1 year ago
@Dystopiologist Matthew 13:24-30. Yes the weeds would be there, but they will be separated one from another. And are you saying that Judas was not replaced? And that Jesus did not say that it would be better if he was never born?
ladivadivala 1 year ago
@ladivadivala
I'm not saying that at all.
.
But you're trying to indict Catholic Christianity by simply dragging out "bad Catholics". I think that you're smarter than this.
.
Kinda funny how you've found an extra-biblical attack now; I wonder why?
Dystopiologist 1 year ago
@Dystopiologist The bible was written for our instruction. What did Jesus say? John 8:32? You will know the "Truth" and the truth will set you free. What you are calling bad Catholics had the full blessing of the priests in their respective countries. I'm letting you know that your leaders have a long standing in war. And that is a historical fact. Just because they apologized hundreds of years later for the Inquisitions does not change anything. They still condone wars.
ladivadivala 1 year ago
@ladivadivala
Dystopiologist 1 year ago
@Dystopiologist Show me how the Popes are different than the Scribes and Pharisees. Don't Catholics call the Pope, Father? Another direct contradiction of the bible.
ladivadivala 1 year ago
@Dystopiologist And Judas was replaced.
ladivadivala 1 year ago
@ladivadivala
But doesn't Judas's treachery condemn Jesus's teachings, by your argument?
Dystopiologist 1 year ago
@Dystopiologist No it doesn't. What Judas did should serve as a reminder to us all because he was right there with Jesus and he still betrayed him. He handed him over to be killed for some money. So should we not be even more careful and make sure of all things? Judas was replaced. And Jesus said it would be better for him to not have been born. That can't be good.
ladivadivala 1 year ago
@ladivadivala
Dystopiologist 1 year ago
@ladivadivala
I guess you and your brothers and sisters at the church you go to are all SINLESS, right?!
Dystopiologist 1 year ago
@Dystopiologist Of course not. We have to recognize that we are all sinners, but that does not give us the excuse to go and kill after we have become "Christians" Becoming a "Christian" is a sacred and special "Honor". And we are not to kill. How can we kill our own brothers simply because their country does not agree with the country we live in. National boundaries do not separate true Brothers.
ladivadivala 1 year ago
@ladivadivala
Do you know how many people Protestants killed after Luther's rebellion? It was in the tens-of-thousands.
So - Protestantism isn't Christian, right?
Dystopiologist 1 year ago
@Dystopiologist Exactly - Protestants killed Protetstants, Protestants killed Catholics and vice versa. And Catholics also went and killed Muslims and vice versa; And yet what do the scriptures say about all this killing? 1John 3:12. Did you really think that because many people are guilty of it that it is okay? The narrow gate is the one to go through, said Jesus.
ladivadivala 1 year ago
@ladivadivala
Dystopiologist 1 year ago
@Dystopiologist Yeah, we have been. I think I need to get some shut eye. If you want I will show you all the ways "Via" Scriptures that the Catholic Church is in direct opposition to almost everything biblical. Later on of course; right now I need to catch some zzzzzs
ladivadivala 1 year ago
@ladivadivala
I agree.
Nice chatting with you - and God Bless you.
Dystopiologist.
Dystopiologist 1 year ago
@ladivadivala
You mentioned that the Catholic Church would be the easiest "denomination" to discredit as being non-scriptural. I'm hoping that you'll do that.
.
You mentioned the Rosary. Are you of the opinion that Catholics dishonor God by saying: "Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb. . "?
Dystopiologist 1 year ago
@Dystopiologist Do you say Amen at the end of it? You are praying to Mary. Show where God gives the okay to pray to anyone other than himself and through anyone other than Jesus. Here are scriptures that show us who to pray to and who to pray through. Galatians 3:20; 1Timothy 2:5; Hebrews 7:25; Romans 8:34; John 15:16; John 16:23. Can you show me where Mary is an exception?
ladivadivala 1 year ago
@ladivadivala,
Luke 2:41-42 (all citations KJV): Elisabeth, who was FILLED with the Holy Spirit, said TO MARY, of course:
.
"Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb." (Lk 2:42).
.
During that interchange, the Mother of our Lord says "...ALL GENERATIONS shall call me "blessed" (emphasis added, Lk 2:42)
Dystopiologist 1 year ago
@Dystopiologist Calling someone blessed is not the same as "Praying" to them. Just look at Matthew chapter 5; Many people are called Blessed. But I see what you are saying. Look at what Jesus had to say about it at Luke 11:27,28. And do you still believe that Mary died a virgin?
ladivadivala 1 year ago
@ladivadivala
Wait a minute - so Elisabeth, who Scriptures say was "filled with the Holy Ghost", prayed to Mary?!
.
Say it isn't so!!
Dystopiologist 1 year ago
@ladivadivala
The same Elisabeth who was mother of John the Baptist, whom Jesus called "the greatest of ALL the prophets"
.
She PRAYED to MARY??!!
Dystopiologist 1 year ago
@Dystopiologist Where did she pray to Mary? She called her Blessed. How could you not call her blessed for carrying Jesus in her womb? And at Matthew Chapter 5 we see Jesus calling a great many people blessed, but that does not mean we can pray to them. Or does it?
ladivadivala 1 year ago
@ladivadivala
Okay then, let's define our terms. My Webster's Dictionary defines it as "1. To implore, beseech". When one files a motion in court, one "prays" for judgment in their favor (this is the actual terminology used).
.
That's also the Catholic meaning. "Prayer" is different than "worship".
Dystopiologist 1 year ago
@Dystopiologist
