  • Havent seen one for years. They bring back lots of memories.

  • Cant be many of the plaxton supremes left now. moxons, notts had a few plaxton supremes lux536p.

  • @jaggass There are more than you think still on the road and in preservation.

  • i could never work out what engines the bedford plaxton supremes have. is it a leyland or bedford engine?

  • @jaggass Its a Bedford engine.

  • 500 cubic inches in the case of the Bedford YMT.

  • Nice to see a Bedford Y on Youtube - I think this is a YMT? Doesn't sound like a YNT.

  • @gcbus Its a YMQ

  • o0oh yess...

I remember going to school on the old bedfords...

    The noises

The walnut interior and bright orange sky-lights

The smell of damp old flannels and diesel fumes...

and the hissing of air-powered wipers...

    love it!

  • That brings back some memories! Same body as one of our school buses - though it was on a Volvo B10 chassis. Same whine in 1st as my favourite though - which was a Bedford engined Duple Dominant II. Not sure which engine precisely though.
