Can an experienced player like Keith HEAR and FEEL the 3 or 4 thousand dollar difference between say, an Eastman E series OM and a Collings OM? Woods and materials being equal, is there any reason the work of a Chinese masterbuilder couldn't be the equal of the American masterbuilder in every way except pay scale? I'd really like to know if someone with experience playing quality guitars knows where that line is, and when it's been crossed.
@broknprism Good question! Chinese builders can be just as good or better than any American builder, but there are many factors that go into the pricing of guitars. Besides the difference in cost of labor, many American builders like Collings are often spending more money on materials and selecting the absolute best woods available. That being said, a more expensive guitar isn't always the better one, and Keith does actually own an Eastman and he uses it often with Harry Connick Jr. and others.
@Fichtezxc We think you are right (about the "under a grand" amount). These guitars are just unbelievable for the money. A guitarist like Keith makes it possible for us to really demonstrate the capabilties of these amazing instruments.
@OldGrowthRedwood Appreciate you saying so... these little Eastman acoustics are starting to seriously gather momentum. Perhaps the quality craftsmanship/tonewoods and and carved nature, or because they rival instruments from "big box" guitar makers that literally cost 2x to 3x the money!! Thanks for the comment

Best I've heard for 1000 or less. Keith could probably make anything sound incredible though.
