the reason? candles, not only are we still burning coal to produce electricity to a house thats not using it, we're also burning candles to create light because if your not aware, buring ANYTHING creates CO2.

Now my sources may or not be correct, BUT my english teacher told me that he's father, a power station worker (or something) that works in an electrical powerplant where they create power is always burning coal, the less you use for this one hour does not reduce the amount of coal burnt, the power station doesnt just burn as you use. electricity is constantly being sent to you, but you only pay for the amount you use.

Our pollution is not effecting the suns energy output man. 2 things: there are things called "CFC's" and a thing called the "Ozone layer" Cfc's are emitted by many human activites they rise up to the ozone layer, and are broken down by ultraviolet light to release, amongst other things, Hydrogen chloride. This reacts with Ozone and breaks it down...

When less power is being used, the turbines in generators do less work, producing less electricity (and consuming less coal/gas/uranium/whatever as a result).

If this didnt happen, excess energy would do work on the powerlines and burn them any time electrical power demand was less than supply.
