Janet is my favorite female artist...she is the perfect example of a stunning voice like an angel woman of color who yes has a body of a God (at times lol) but didnt just use her beauty for making a name but also sang on important issues like domestic violence AIDS racism and so on. I love her warmth and sincerity. When I was a kid I use to put on makeup and wear a mole to look like her (or try!) now I know why. She is the best. Janet I love you :)

Janet herself has made interviews saying that she enjoys being a woman of color and a role model for other children of color... :) so I was just piggy banking on that and saying she is a good positive image of a black woman, as there arent many good images of Black women. most images are negative and degrading. Thats why it matters - why do you feel the need to pick at my comment?!

I dont mean to be rude, we all have pride I understand....for me if I like an artist I dont feel the need to mention their color or race...If I were to say that I love that a musician is white I would be called a racist. so why just like the artist and not the "color" of the artist

Is it just me or did Janet and Mariah make better music in the '90's then now. It might be do to the fact that they had a lot to prove being that young and successful that now they have nothing to prove.I don't know but that's what I think.

In a way I feel that tooo....buh Janet makes better music nowadays than MAriah...Janet still has a passion for music..nd youh could see tht because of the energy & time she puts into it. Also...she has to change her style of music... to be able to compete with todays type of music...sum people dont feel it because they're used to the old type of songs she used to make. Buh Mariah on the other hand...youh can telll..she jus need money. Either way Im still a fan of JANET'S. Mj Forever(♥)

I think Janet and Mariah made better music in the 90s because the listening audience had higher expectations for R&B music(and hip-hop too). Maybe its just me, I'm a 90s kid who grew up on this classic.

@BRazor78 - I agree, but there were so many other great music in the 80's...Music has changed so much. It's like all you hear artist singing about it "Telephones" "videophones" "In the club" "Poppin Bub" - it all sounds the same. Janet and Mariah have a large catalogue of good music.

This younger generation is willing to accept ANYTHING as R+B and hip-hop rather than listen to the lyrics, decide if it has feeling or not, THEN classify it as music or noise. I grew up on the class that was '90s R+B and hip-hop as well, and I hate how much it's all gone down the tubes nowadays :(

@mommycupcakes09 If you really think that then you are extremely deaf and need 1 million hearing aids, Mariah is simply amazing and great, she sings a trillion times better than all of the people that you names, especially Janet, Janet cannot sing at all. She just entertains, I have a friend who knows her engineer and he even told my friend that she never sings out. You sound like a jealous hater to me, especially for you to hate on Mariah like that, someone who kills it.

@mommycupcakes09 I love Janet, and like all those other people too, but to said Mariah never did anything or was not close "to being great or even good" and that she can't compare to Janet especially in the 90's, is a little crazy, if anything, she is just as good as Janet. They both were/are great, have broken/sold many records, did/contribute a lot to the music industry, and are talented in what they do.
