You could tell that Piangi is dead, cause how could he have lost weight so fast? The Phantom, has killed him and put on the costume. For he wrote this show, Don Juan. I just need to say that this is the most gorgeous song out of the whole entire show, next to Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again. But this is a beautiful show itself.

The film version certainly seems to have more passion. In the stage versions The Phantom's hands always seem to hover over Christine, but he doesn't touch her a lot of the time. I think Crawford's voice is better, but Butler cartainly has presence. He is a larger man (maybe partly cos he's acting with a much younger smaller person) and the good singing he can do works well.

MMMM... I am in love with this song and Butler's version of the phantom. Crawford and the rest were amazing... but I LOVE Gerard. The former Phantoms may have a wider range of musical ability and experience but Gerry sounds so much more powerful. Former Phantom's voices always seemed to be overpowered by Christine's singing, and that never seemed right to me - he is suppose to overpower her. Butler's voice is so much more powerful, rough, sexy, and seductive. ;)

I agree completely with you! you see it in Christine's eyes they totally just read, "I'm sorry...it was the only way." she was just trying to save him because she knew they were going to kill him and after he sang that song to her...she knew she couldn't let them go through with it so she did that. I love the singing in this movie. Crawford and the rest of the older Phantoms can sing, but I prefer Butler's singing because you can actually feel all the emotions. Whereas Crawford singing doesn't have enough emotion in it for me. I actually almost cried to Butler's singing.

kind of a beginner? gerard has never taken voice lessons, expect when he was learning the parts for this musical. I really wish they would have used broadway performers for this production. I cant stand these two voices, they make me cringe.
