This lady is gifted. There is no one like her. I didn't know until today she sings in 11 languages. I first saw her in 1969 on American TV and have loved her ever since. I don't know how old she is here but I know she is still singing and would be a senior. Give credit where credit is due. If you are going by your own taste and not by musicality of voice then you would be wrong about her, as a vocalist she is wonderful.

I knew Barbara personnaly in the late 80s, though she was very popular and had money she was very easy to talk to, very natural, no game and no publicity. she phoned me several times like if she was just a neighbor, I can't imagine Dion doing this. Dion has a great voice and nothing else, it's not enough for me, i need soul when someone sings. When on stage, Barbara was handling you at the very first minute and 2 hours later you would leave the theater with her magic touch.

The first time I heard of Mireille Mathieu was when my first husband I were in Provo, Ut in 1977-with a lady who had just returned from her mission with the LDS Church. We knew Marie Dean very well while she was in San Diego. We met her at a french restaurant & the jukebox was playing some of Mireille's songs. She has a sweet soothing voice.
