What did you clean the pan with? It looks like brand new. I am going to be servicing my 2004 GMC 2500HD next weekend and hope it goes as easily as you make it in your videos. Thank you for posting these videos.
@bhallais1 The easiest way to do that would be to take the vehicle to a service center where they have a machine that will take all of the old fluid out and replace it with new fluid.
I have a 2004 chevy Surburban with 250,000 miles. It has never had a fluid change. but it shifts perfect and runs like new. With that many miles should i go ahead and change it or leave it alone.
@pensacolasurfer I wouldn't flush it as that may disturb some of the gunk in there. You should be ok changing the filter and adding in some fresh fluid.
great video; I appreciate your time and effort. I have learned quite a bit through these and other videos in the net. it's great to find those sharing their knowledge specially in times when you pay a good bit for everything and money is not enough.
@1961gonzalito Appreciate the compliment and Glad to help! Please visit 1A Auto dot com next time you need parts for your Chevy, GMC or any other car or truck.
great info here. we normally don't drop the pan and change the filter. we just flush the transmission and lines. cause really by dropping the pan your really only changing less than half the fluid, the rest is still in the torque convertor. i was always taught at full operating temp of the engine, the trans fluid should be 3/4 the way to the hot mark. something i was always taught if that seal on the filter stays in there when the filter is down to leave it, have you ever heard that before.
u make it so easy ..... hard to belive that they want to charge 100 bucks for that.... dammm ....... thx 4 the in site ... good vid..........on the vid with the transfer case motor can that work for a chevy blazer
@crime943 Toughest part is those 2 bolts near the trans mount. Just takes a little patience. Not sure which trans case vid you are referring to. I will be doing one on an S10 in the future.

@kckettridge You can wipe it down with some clean rags. It should look pretty clean after you wipe it down.

How would you complete the full flush? How would you remove all 11 quarts of fluid, including the one in the torque converter?

@kenman1717 That's correct. On this truck when you do a full flush it takes about 11 quarts of fluid.
