Autocross is for slow Honda drivers because the courses are usually set up like this one, in a parking lot, so they never have to go faster than 30MPH. Perfect for slow cars.
that's actually pretty true, EG hatches and EK coupes and Hatches kick ass at autocross, 2000~2200 lbs, all you do is throw on some Falken Azenis and run neck and neck with much faster cars. Very rarely does acceleration help you at autocross. Lambos are meant to perform well on wide open circuits with speeds averaging 100 mph, trying to throw it around at autocross is a bad idea.
I have yet to see a newer generation Honda that weighs as little as a Lotus Elise (2000lbs). Try 2800 - 2900 lbs for the 8th generation civic. Unless you are talking about 1980s Hondas, then again every car in the 80's weighed a lot less. 80's 3 series BMWs weigh 2500, current 3 series is about 3500 lbs.
Even the 5th generation Civic (92-95) weighed 2300 lbs. I am sorry but busted old Civics from the 80's earn no respect except from someone already interested in them. Good luck with the ladies in one of those.
LOL This is not the car for autocrossing.
