Greetings! First, great demo of just a few of the MANY piano's that this board offers, Second, thank you for demoing all of the various styles of music/sounds from classical, pop, rag, etc... I just have to tell anyone looking for a complete awesome keyboard, as I use this exact board on stage every weekend in my band, the Roland Fantom S is simply amazing from sampling, sequencing, ability to use expansion boards for just about any sound possible, ease of navigation and being able to layer, sp
Can i record my own songs with different instruments like a piano part a guitar part and a drum part together and ON the keyboard? And how many instruments can we add? Please answer me in a message on my account
@danydrumsable Hey Thanks for the kind words! I did this demo for a friend from the UK who wanted to hear what this new Sound Expansion board would sound like . Glad you stopped by to take a listen.
@LAZERFIST888 I guessing the JV 2080 is an older Roland Synth or sound module?. Google a search about the specs of your unit. I don't believe The Roland SRX-02 Piano Module will work the JV 2080.
When you were playing at the 1:14 mark that piece really touched me. Seriously loved it! Is there anyway I can get that whole section in midi please?
@BrownWZ why yes. Its a Yamaha Sy77 FM Synth 16 track Seq. Its over 20 years old and Still kicks butt! That's why i never got ride of it. Check out my demo of the yamaha sy77 in my other videos. Its digital.. but... sounds very analog.
@BigTimeBeatz2007 Thanks Much, I love this song to. about midi. I don't have a midi set-up for the song. But i guess it wouldn't be hard to redo. I'll redo the song some time and save the song as midi. I"ll get back with you.
Nice Playing, man. You made my decision. I found the SRX-02 much more realistic and "nice" than the SRX-11. I have to decide because I only have 1 Slot (Juno-G).
Do you experience the abnormal velocity switchings that so many people claim they have with the srx-02 card and if so have you found a way to tweak them? thanx for the great videos btw.
No Experience with bad velocity. I even tried to adjust the V. Switching to see if i could make the response a little better. I found out that the preset Velocity switching was just fine for me. I think tweeking the Velocity switch to much can make it sound worse. in My opinion. Thanks!
hey good playing man. question - i have a juno g, are all srx expansion boards compatible with it? and do i need to get one of these to expand my ram? how do i expand my ram? because i have no memory on my juno g... thanks a lot
If you sampled true pianos, It all depends on what type of quality mic, set-up, velocity switching setting, sample rate and bit rate. Also room acoustic effects to where the true piano will be in. But, overall, you might just get a great sample. I sampled my moog little phatty and it turned out better then expected. Good luck!
The Fantom S has great recording capabilities. 16 tracks. still very upgradeable. great user interface just like the fantom x series. Compete with x series? well, its, all a matter of personal choice of what a musician wants i guess. I'm happy with my Fantom S and i'm not into hype of new products that come out. Had my fantom s since 2003
hi can you tell me if you think the srx 02 would be a good addition to the soniccell. im not sure if the sonics piano sounds are new or from the same sound source as the early fantoms great plying by the way
Yes, But i don't think that the memory upgrade is required before you install the SRX. I just added the memory because it was cheep and i was opening the bottom of the roland anyway. Its was a simple process. Took me all of 5 minutes. Roland recommends a curtain tool to install the SRX board.
Very nice playing. I wonder if you have any impressions on how this compares to the SRX-11. I'd like one of the two, but unsure of which one would better suit me.
To be honest, I haven'r realy tried or heard the SRX-11. I was lucky enough to get my SRX-02 on ebay for $125.00 If your looking for better tone and professional Piano Sound Samples, Then the SRX-02 is your best bet. Anyway thanks for watching my demo.
Thaks for the demo! I've got a Ronand SonicCell sound module along with a Fatar 990 keyboard, and I've been thinking about buying an SRX-02 card. You made me make up my mind!
I bought a Fantom XS8 workstation. I'll be paying for it for two years.
I fight the guilt of having something I can't really use, and couldn't really afford. I keep promising myself I'll read the manuals one day...but each time I get them out....I lose myself in the moments that follow switching it on.
I can't play..I can only play well enough for me...but for me...thats enough.
I've had it for a year....I turn it on each day...and still the manual will have to wait.
Thanks, I checked out your RD-700GX on the web. Haven't listened to sound patches from your keyboard. The SRX-02 piano was the right choice for me. With a keyboard like yours, you should have great piano sound. Tinker with the effects and experiment. Or, You can purchase this SRX-02 and you find that its not for you, return it. I got mind on ebay used for 125.00 retails for $259.00 good luck!
I think you have to create a sample from the SRX card using the Fantom X sampler feature and save the file. Then, upload the file to your computer. You might want to check out roland forums for help. good luck.
Yes, all you have to do is change your playing style and thats it. The SRX-02 expansion board can do all types of music styles. Blues, classical, Lantin, Salsa.
