i found out about this song sitting in a county jail doing time. it helped me get through some real bad days. no radio or tv so we sang it at the tops of our lungs every night. old habits are so hard to break! "i tried the hard stuff but i had to let all that go" this is soo true for me. i am so thankful it only took time in jail and not my young life to learn my lesson

Expanding on my previous comment, This girl's talent far exceeds much of what is coming out of Nashville these days! Sure they all sing good, but only a few can really express a song in such a way that it is believable. Like Roy Clark said (speaking of real country music) "It seeps into your soul. You bring it up from the inside". Ole JR. himself might get a litttle jealous if he heard Stacy sing this one!

Ok Stacy, I've listen to sing this about 5 or 6 times now (and sent it off to my friends) -- it's stunning. You really have turned the tune into something a whole lot more soulful than Hank gave us. Also, your pitch gives me chills (and I'm a musician who isn't easily thrilled). Frankly, you're just killing this notes. I do love Emmylou's music, however, I don't have any of her albums. I've been singing with my sister for as long as I can remember and she's always taken the alto stuff, because that's her natural range. She's a huge Patsy fan, whereas I'm a huge Dolly fan. I love singing Patsy, though (my favorite is probably "She's Got You").
