  • No, I'm sorry. This song is SOO not disco. Disco ("Staying Alive","More, More, More, "Dancing Queen " and similar songs, are disco) Disco does not "breathe" like this funky dance floor tune, I've been a professional DJ since 1977. This song falls in the Cameo, Bar-Kay. One Way funk category. It was played at discos, but so was "You and I" by Rick James. Trust me.

  • Hip Hop music 1981...VINTAGE HIP HOP!!!

  • @meechamaka411 NOT RIGHT ON. I TOTALLY DISAGREE WITH YOU. THIS IS 100% PURE DISCO MY DEAR FRIEND. ITS ROOTS COME STRAIGHT FROM THE WONDERFUL 70'S . HAS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH SHIT-HOP. NOTHING.

  • @hector69ize I believe what meechamaka411 was expressing is "funky be-bop" by Vin-Zee was one of the songs played at jams which are now considered the building blocks of what was later to be named "hip-hop".

  • @cooliegee RIGHT ON BROTHA, RIGHT ON!!!!! THAT'S MORE LIKE IT.

  • @hector69ize This song may have been played at discos, but it is NOT disco, This is Dance Floor Funk.

  • @overjam1 This is HOW is known by younger generations now days. They just call it WHATEVER they feel it. But I am tellin'ya, way back in the early 80's WHEN this particular song came out, it was labeled as DISCO. Not hip-hop, and most definately NOT dance floor funk. NO Sir. No way jose.
