  • Danny - the dance music pioneer. He was also an 'E' pioneer as he used to bring loads of it back to the UK from the US before it was classified as an illegal narcotic. So I read, anyway....

  • @ManuelGrandi get over it

  • The Camelot Easy Mix Wheel "created" by Mark Davis!

    What a joke.

It's The Cirlce of Fifths and it's been around for hundreds of years.

  • @BongoPedro this is correct ! its what iv been thinking ahah i think its just an easyer way for non musicians to understand it

  • i now use mixed in key (and platnium notes) in all my mixing. i wouldn't go back.

  • why is it htat wene i analiyse it come out with everything but without the song key

  • sell sell sell

  • OMG, Danny since when did you grow an afro?

    Hehe, see you soon....

    J-Me* Griffiths

  • does pitch shifting without key lock. Change the key of the music? Like with a Technics SL-1200. That is the only question i have. Otherwise great info. Someone please reply. :)

  • no it does not

  • Yes it does. That's one bonus of using pro CD players or DJ software which can lock the key, rather than turntables.

You can find info online about what how pitch percentage affects key. Obviously at some pitches the tune will be between keys.

  • 8 bpm change means half a tone so if you are lets say on a F# and go up 8 bpms you got yourself a G :D

  • The amount of BPM will depend on the tempo of the song to start with! It's the percentage amount that will be the same for each tone (or half tone).

The faster the song, the closer together the beats are, so the BPM will change faster for each percentage moved.

  • @tattoomaniacsalina yes it changes the pitch. moving the pitch fader +6 changes key

  • that camelot is nothing new, its classic Circle of Fifths...

i knew it allready, and i though i can do it without this software, i analyzed keys of tracks using midi piano, but on some tracks i struggled so much.. i bought this yesterday:)

  • excellent info

  • Lovely tutorial ..just got mix in key and already i think i am alined

  • just got mixed in key today and love the video thanx

  • That wheel idea is *really* clever - music theory is complex, man that makes it easy!

  • you are a legend! thank you for demonstrating the amazing capacity of this software. I look forward to using this software to better organize my CDs...so that I can spend less time switching CDs and more time experimenting with my DJM-800 and CDJ-1000mk3s!...platinum notes is also an amazing program for polishing the very subtle rough edges inherent in most lower quality (<320Kbps older tracks) also can save you money on beatport (buying 192kbps versions instead of 320, platinum notes fixes it)

  • hey i just bought this and the key part sint working right i tried blending a 4a with a 4a/5a/5b and it wasnt flowing smooth at all lol i use serato..I must admit i use the bpm part though cause it calculate the proper bpm as i can see sumtimes itll be twice as much but most of the time ur good to go maybe im doing sumthing wrong if so help me but heres my review:)

  • Software makes things easier but it's not perfect. No substitute to using ears!

Software can still get confused and get things wrong.

If you really must mix two incompatible tunes together, you can use software to change the key of one song so that it works with another.

    Sony Acid for example.

  • Iam new on this i got the mix in keys put i try to grope my song in order like 1A have all on File and 4A all in another file could you gave me a hit iam a Dj from the old school back from the end off 79' into 80' where difrente so iam try to making a come back but i need help all this new stuff we did not have back then you had to train your ears so let me know ok saying hola from San Juan Puerto Rico your tru Angel

  • Very useful explanation. U cleared things up for me.

  • HOW MUCH IN ENGLISH MONEY, THANKS

  • Brilliant!

  • I might buy this if this automatically tags your mp3's in the proper serato column.

  • cheers mate, you made my day!

    thanks a bunch for posting

  • man . . you're the best

now i can use the program ^__^
