Love it! Actually ducks are very easy to herd. They naturally run together as a group. And no, most domestic ducks don't fly. I have a LOT of ducks (not as many as this though!), and I can herd them easily with a long pole, just put the pole out to the left, ducks veer right, and so on. As long as you don't rush them, they stay together. Very easy. No need to train the ducks, it's all natural. Works with geese too, but NOT chickens. :) Love the video. :)

I think they keep them on farms, just like you do with herds of cows. I suppose that if they can't fly and the farmer wants to move them, then shepherding then around by road seems as good a method as any. If they start herding them when they are very young then they'd get used to it I suppose.

they are all Indian Runner ducks which arn't good flyers to start with but without a mother to rigerously teach them they won't fly. they will still flap their wings (TRUST ME) they will still flap their wings but they wont fly domesticated.
