  • AWW SHES SO CUTE!!!!!!!!!!

  • Great! I have been trying to find a video that shows the results of positive reinforcement. See, my dog bites a lot when we're brushing him, and we want to train him to stop. I'm a special ed aide, and the teachers all use behavior mod for problem behaviors, and I wanted my family to use positive reinforcement ONLY. They're not convinced that positive is the only way, but I am! Your videos show how eager your dog is to find out the next great thing that's going to happen!!! Thanks!

  • @UkeGirl100 last year I adopted a dog that bites and had very matted fur and would bite anyone who tried to cut it or brush him, I am planning on making a tutorial on how I made him happy to be brushed, he will now sit nicely while I brush his coat right through. for an idea on how positive reinforcement works for dogs like this, check out my video about cleaning eyes on a difficult dog, that is the same dog and now I can clean his eyes in less than 3 minutes :) good luck with your dog :)

  • excellent video. thanks for posting!

  • If the dog spontanously does the right thing and you dont have a clicker handy - may I suggest you make a "click-sound" with your mouth? Timing is important..

  • If the dog spontanously does the right thing and you dont hav ea clicker handy - may I suggest you make a "click-sounbd" with your mouth?

  • did u actually do this in just one training session?

  • @tigercub995 oh no I didn't, I should have made that much clearer in the video, I will be sure to make it clear in future videos, this took quite a few training sessions, but all very short sessions of about 5 to 10 minutes. I hope that is a help :-) you shouldn't worry if your dog doesn't get it straight away.

  • if i clicker train my pup and i dont have the clicker at that moment can it still work doing tricks or commands?

  • @vidgirl4444 you can yes, you will still need treats though! you can use a marker word such as "YES!" in place of the click, make sure you say it short and make sure you say it the same way every single time.

  • @zsianz1 she now knows bow but get mixed up with DOWN! I will be starting the clicker training! the first thing i have to do is CLICK TREAT?

  • @vidgirl4444 the youtube user kikopup has a video on starting with the clicker, check that out for all the info on how to get started, it's called "What is clicker training?- dog training"

  • @zsianz1 thx i will check it out

  • I've got a German Shepherd who's just turning a year old (in three days actually), and she's very quick with learning. I think I'll give "take a bow" a shot :) thanks for this video! I'll post another comment about the results.

  • heey , greaat viideo !

im tryiing to teaach my dg tiia to bow , buut she doesnt stand up for long enough she just sits infront of me , any hellp ? :)

  • I tried teaching this to my Giant schnauzer, except I did it from her side and I touched underneath her belly to keep her from lying down. Now she only does it if I hold her belly up... :( I think I'm going to re-train using your method. Thanks!

  • You might be getting tired of me telling you how much I love your videos, but I have to say it again. I really like seeing things with both ages of dogs, and also showing how to click and use the toy as the reward. So very helpful. I've added this as something to "play around" with my new pup, and her big sis, too!

  • taz lays down in an instant, and i have no time to correct him.

  • yes, this is a real problem. try using a target then. train him to touch something with his nose and then place it slightly under his chin, if he brings his head down with out laying down (even just a little bit) then click and treat at once. and then try and work from there, if you are still stuck and not getting anywhere then mail me.

  • thanx again Sian!!

  • Just found this one and I thought I had seen all of your videos!!!! This is the next trick Sirius and I will be working on :)

He is currently finishing up "take it" but I'm having trouble having him KEEP it in his mouth for a while without shaking the life out of the toy. Hoping to be able to have him hold a sign for holiday pictures so I can share his insanely cute self with family that lives elsewhere :)

  • i find your training vids VERY helpful!

  • i just watched the bow video its really awesome

    post some more vidoes

  • great vid...al just love watching you training and learning new trics...i taught my gsd puppy with the stay command,i told him freeze(stay) while he was laying down,so i stopped him in the bow positio, after 1-2 seconds i told him 'bow' and then reward him

he learned it in 5 min:) i still watched this vid cuz' i love them all ,it doesn't matter if my dogs already know the trick,i'd still watch them:)

  • aww, thank you so much for your lovely comments about my videos :-)

  • they´re soo cute! my dog knows the trick, too. and he learned it in a few minutes xD but without this video :)

  • Great vid!

What cue do u use for take a bow?

  • I know it's not very good but I do actually say 'take a bow' haha! I think maybe a shorter cue would do better but a thesaurus is a great way to come up with new cues :-) thanks for watching my vid :-)

  • I'm sorry if you have already answered this question but what kind of dog is that in he beginning section of the video?

  • Hey, thank you very much for your comment :-) both the dogs in this video are Border Collies, the small one was just a puppy in this video (that's Mabel!) • Mabel has really grown, they are both looking lovely!

  • awesome! im totally gonna try that one tonight!!!

  • great! let me know how you get on!

  • haha. . .not so good. whenever we get in training mode, she defaults to ALL her previously learned tricks. so its alot of waiting and watching for shaping opportunities.

  • Oh dear! I had to do the same with Holly, she took a while to get the hang of it. Luckily once the penny dropped she did it with no problems though! Good luck :-)
