The russian orthodox church should return to the old monophonic chant and not these western styled italian opera music.Orthodox church music is always monophon and has a spiritual meaning it is not beautiful in secular terms, chanting is like an holy icon wich is revealed to our Holy Fathers like St. John of Damaskos and so on ...For example Tschaikovsky is a great composer but not a saint his music is a secular one!!!and also Rachmaninov, and so on...
