hey, i have a pair of peach face lovebirds , they hatched 4 babies, 2 died and 2 survived. my question is, they laid eggs again right away after i took the 2 away to hand feed them, it has been 28 days, and none have hatched, could it be that they mated too soon? please explain to me i would appreciate it. i dont know how old these lovebirds are cuz someone gave them to me , i didnt ask that. thanks alot
i was wondering from ur experience... my lovebirds are having eggs some of them (2 up to now have hatched) but none have survived... she covers them but then nothing, we find them... well dead. is there something we could do?
omg..that what you call a miracle of nature..i'm a bird man too..this is really inspiring when you see your birds breeding in captivity..meaning they were properly cared and adjusted to their contained environment..its sooo cool..i have a colony of lovebirds..and colony of african lovebirds..it made me homesick from home..though i have a lilte here in the kingdom..thanks for this great post..love yah
o im sorry to comment again but it wouldnt fit. but the other lovebird went in before the two breefding couple went in. i also clipped one of the birds wings a few months ago but no she can fly a little. did i do something wrong? is there a reason why they arent going in?
I'm not a lovebird expert so my answers might not be valid, but in my experience, the birds will breed by themselves if they desire it and if the conditions to do it are proper. They most likely know there is a nest for them there, but they are probably not ready or don't want to breed. You can't really force two lovebirds to make babies.. It's their choice at the end...
hey i kno im asking this really late but i have 2 lovebirds who are a breeding couple. but i also have another one that i bought from a place called the SPCA in san francisco and i seperated the three birds lleaving the breeding couple in oone half of the cage and my other one in the other side. they are seperated by a white piece of metal. and i used this thing called carefresh bedding to help them with the nesting material. but they arent goin in the nest. can you help me please with thing?
I have the same thing. I took them some time to go in it, just wait. What I did thought was I put some food near the nesting box and that made them less scared of it and eventually they wandered in it and made a nest thing in there.
