Just a reminder of why ANYONE who says "The Canadian health care system is great because it's 'free' and everyone has healthcare" is an absolute IDIOT.
Ha! We got the Canadian system beat. Here in the US there is no wait time. No money or insurance you just don't get one. You can't wait for something you're not going to get, duh. Sarah Palins death panels are built into the US system by default. Or you can get private insurance and have the insurance company death panel make the decision for you.
Government controlled health care is not only totalitarian but an act of state aggression upon the sovereign citizen who alone has the right (using their own money) to choose what medical advice and treatment to get without state interference, oversight or funding. Socialized medicine just like any other state controlled entity brings about higher prices and lower quality, such as waiting 3-5 months for a MRI and up to a year to see a specialist. I should know, I live in miserable Canada!
WTF are you talking about. We have single-payer, not socialized medicine here in Canada. In socialized, the government assigns a doctor to you. I can switch doctors whenever I want.
Below are the waittimes that Lindsay had access during the period this video references. This is taken directly from the ONT Min.0f Health website: THE SCARBOROUGH HOSPITAL(TORONTO) MRI WAITTIMES DEC-JAN06 90% ofMRIs done within 27Days Average 13Dys Median 11Dys TRILLIUM HEALTH CENTRE(Greater Toronto Area) CANCER SURGERY(Neurological ie.brain)Feb-Mar06 90% surgery done wthin 27Days Average 21Dys Median 6Dys It's hard to have sympathy for a man who's his own worst enemy.KNOW THE FACTS
The events in this video were selective(cherry picked) and by defntion this is PROPAGANDA. PROOF:In Stuart Browning's speech to CATO he states that Americans can key in their ZIPCodes Online and find medical care.He conveniently fails to mention that residents of ONT can key in their loc. to the Min.of.Health website and find timely healtcare.Had the man in this video performed this search he would have found an MRI in Toronto within 27 days. GOOGLE WAITTIMES ONT follow the links for the truth.
The individual in this video states that he could not get an MRI in Toronto for 4 months. However, during this period(JAN06)The Scarborough Hospital had a MRI waittime of 27days for a priority4.Considering his described symptoms he would at minumum been a priority 3 which would mean less than 27 days and having it done before Feb 3 in CAN.Yet Michael Moore is dishonest? 4 months versus <27 days.Stuart Browning should take a long hard look in the mirror.Check out WAIT TIMES ONTARIO for the facts.
Mr Brown fails to disclose that his fees are paid by the US hospitals he refers Canadian patients to. Also Mr Mc Creith's brain tumor was first diagnosed in Canada by CT. That CT was performed the the first time he went to ER with symptoms.

The problems with waiting times in Canada only started in the last 10 years, when the government started slashing healthcare budgets massively to compensate for the fact that corporations have been paying less and less taxes over the years. In the 1950's they used to pay 50% of all taxes, and now it's about 7%.
In the US when you get sick your insurance company finds an excuse to cancel your insurance. It's a disaster there too. WIth all the problems it's still better in Canada by far.
We moved back from the US where we lived for 10 years. Medically speaking we made one of the biggest mistakes. One needs to wait a long time for relatively simple tests. It is difficult to find a family physician. We could only find one after 15 months she was 70 miles roundtrip away from where we lived. Without a physician one has no recourse but to go to hospital emergency where one has to wait for many hours and one does not have continuity regarding treatments.
Government holds a monoply over a nationwide service industry. The courts say you can use an alternate source but must still pay for the government service. The system is run by entrenched bureaucrats who are terrified of fair competition. If the service they offer you stinks your only option is to shell out your own cash while still paying for a broken system through taxes. Thus the poor suffer the worst consequences. Sounds like the American public school system
There are more MRI machines in State of Mississippi then all of Canada!
End of discussion! National Health is a train wreck... good for nothing but bombastic politicians to appease the poor - who don't pay anything now anyway!
Yeah.I'm sure your government would love to 'have' Mr.McCreith.They'd love to 'have' everything he and his wife have earned over their lifetime if he gets sick in the U.S.
There are things wrong with the American health care system AND there are things wrong with the Canadian health care system.
Hard to believe such well meaning idiots in this country want our great system to become a socialistic state. What happened to freedom and democracy? Oh, I forgot...democracy is fine if the votes go our way...but just let "democracy" in action produce a winner like Hamas and then it is no longer desirable. Hypocracy.
Great system huh, I don't think going to my family Dr. and paying $100.00 for a flu shot is a great system. Then have to fight with my insurance company to pay for.I don't like socialize medicine either just cost control.

This is totally outdated. The Canadian government has fixed the wait time problem that
did exit. This video is only on the web to make you
think that the Canadian system is no good. Seek
the truth.

The answer isn't one system or the other.
What about a combination of BOTH systems?
