Thank you. By the way, why are you holding your arms against your torso like that? Any particular reason? Perhaps it gets explained later. Come to think of it, maybe it helps limit the amount of motion in your body to hold them still, so it is easier to feel just one part at a time. Is that it?
I don't know if the instrument sounds better with better posture, but the musician will put less stress on their body, so the music may sound good for a longer portion of their life. Especially with the hands, pianists can develop arthritis if they're not careful to keep good posture.
He beleives that finding your posture will make learning easier to enjoy, less painfull. Some people love playing so much they would bleed if they had to, maybe their postures are more comfortable for them.
Thank you all so much for the positive feedback. It truly excites us when artists like you get the message we are trying to share. And thank you so much for taking the time and energy to let us know we've been of service. It inspires us to want to work even more to keep piano-ology alive and growing! No, posture does apply to you. There's not a musical instrument in the book that doesn't sound better with correct posture.

This is cool and all.
But I don't feel like posture really applies to me that much.
I mean, watch Ben Folds, Amanda Palmer, or Amy Lee.
However, I'm going to watch this entire series.
It's very informative and well done.
