The reason why kenpachi can't use shikai and bankai is that they wasn't able to seal his reiatsu in a sword because of the huge amount. Even so, he thinks of his sword like a tool, so even if he got a real zanpatou, he wouldn't be able to use it at more pwer than a regular sword

@rakakakarakakaka I don't see how you can rate unohana higher than the majority of the captains when she has NEVER fought, or how you can rate kurotsuchi so low when if you even take a tiny breath of the poison from his Bankai, you'll die, and Shunsui is actually a lot more powerful than most think, especially when Ukitake warned Shunsui that he shouldn't use his Bankai where others could see, meaning that it is incredibly powerful. and some captains' bankai still have yet to be revealed.
@PenguinofDestruction I gave Shunsui a very good rating, I don't see why you think I gave him a small rating. Yes, he's the most powerful of the captains we saw fight, but it's alluded that he is weaker than Unohana, and obviously Yamamato is the strongest. As for Kurotsutchi's poison, you're wrong. Kenpachi directly breathed the poison and simply wasn't effected due to his massive amounts of reiatsu.
The weakest captain is Kurotsuchi, but to make up for it he has his science, his paralysis and his poisons. Next weakest is Hitsugaya, but only because he's young, with a few more hundred years he'd be close to strongest. Next is Soi Fon, she's the fastest, but not the strongest. Komamura is next, he has a very powerful Bankai, but it's quite slow. Kuchiki follows, strong, fast and versatile. Kenpachi is stronger, but only when he fights seriously, which is almost never.

@zwatcher trust me, it still wouldn't match Ichigo's highest point at the (minus a few chapters) current point in the manga (the japanese dub of the anime is VERY close to the manga, but the english dub still has 2 arcs worth of fillers until it gets back on track, then it still has the arc that is currently running in japanese to catch up (which by then will still be far behind)

it was explained that kenpachi cant use a bankai because of way he thinks of his sword. He never learned his swords name, nor cared to he saw it as a tool and not a being like others did. However not like he needed it, he's one of the most powerful warriors in series hands down.
actually he says he cant use bankai bc he has to much reatsu to seal into a sword not so much bc of the name, his sword cant have a name bc he cant seal his massive amount of reatsu into the sword soo yea
actually no, he says he his zanpakto is already in its unsealed form, like ichigos sword is he doesnt have to unseal it to unleash its full power. However unlike ichigo he cant call on his swords power because he doesnt know its name, bankai comes from sword knowing its name calling on its power and being one with your sword. Kenpachi cant use bankai because he sees his sword as a tool and nothing else. Watch ichigo vs kenpachi again, and see why he'll never have a bankai.

go watch tail ends of episodes 38 right before he breaks zangetsu he says "the reason i dont seal my soul slayer is because my spirit pressure is so huge, i couldnt seal it even if i tried as hard as i could" there ya go enjoy
and if u want more proof instead of just the anime go to the manga at onemanga or somethin and go to chaptre 109 page 17 and he says it there as well ;]

@1233dragon1233 incorrect, his sword is currently in Shikai, he mentions it to Ichigo when they first fight in the Seireitei, and he also mentions that he can NEVER achieve Bankai due to that his sword will never speak to him since he never bothered to see it as a being, just another tool for killing.

(continued) The only time Kenpachi ever fought seriously, with both hands on his sword, a single swing took out a high level Espada. Next is Shusui, he beat Espada #1 without Bankai, though it took a while. Stronger is Unahana, and the top is Yamamato. So, in order of strength,
Yamamato > Unohana > Shusui > Kenpachi (serious) > Kuchiki > Komamura > Soi Fon > Kenpachi (playing) > Hitsugaya > Kurotsuchi

@rakakakarakakaka lol i dont see how u can rate them in terms of strength cause if u hadnt noticed the fights are fixed like for instance u say shusui is strongest next to unohana and yamamato but if he wouldve fought number 3 espada i doubt he wouldve won same goes for kenpachi id be willing to bet kurotsuchi would beat kenpachi and shusui just cause he is that much smarter and unohana has never fought so u cant even put her up ther

@rakakakarakakaka I don't see how you can rate unohana higher than the majority of the captains when she has NEVER fought, or how you can rate kurotsuchi so low when if you even take a tiny breath of the poison from his Bankai, you'll die, and Shunsui is actually a lot more powerful than most think, especially when Ukitake warned Shunsui that he shouldn't use his Bankai where others could see, meaning that it is incredibly powerful. and some captains' bankai still have yet to be revealed.

@PenguinofDestruction I gave Shunsui a very good rating, I don't see why you think I gave him a small rating. Yes, he's the most powerful of the captains we saw fight, but it's alluded that he is weaker than Unohana, and obviously Yamamato is the strongest. As for Kurotsutchi's poison, you're wrong. Kenpachi directly breathed the poison and simply wasn't effected due to his massive amounts of reiatsu.

The weakest captain is Kurotsuchi, but to make up for it he has his science, his paralysis and his poisons. Next weakest is Hitsugaya, but only because he's young, with a few more hundred years he'd be close to strongest. Next is Soi Fon, she's the fastest, but not the strongest. Komamura is next, he has a very powerful Bankai, but it's quite slow. Kuchiki follows, strong, fast and versatile. Kenpachi is stronger, but only when he fights seriously, which is almost never.

Bleach is awesome i love naruto shippuuden too but bleach has the best villain... Aizen is brilliantly written i doubt anyone really saw him as a villain he always seemed like one of the nice guys... brilliant story telling.

@zwatcher trust me, it still wouldn't match Ichigo's highest point at the (minus a few chapters) current point in the manga (the japanese dub of the anime is VERY close to the manga, but the english dub still has 2 arcs worth of fillers until it gets back on track, then it still has the arc that is currently running in japanese to catch up (which by then will still be far behind)

remember back when we learned that all hollows where once humans so all espada and arrancar where once humans or are made up of thousands of humans in one body........thats messed up. and remember when we learned that only a cut from a zanpakuto could send the soul of a hollow to peaceful rest while quincy arrows,kido,and cero's all destroy the soul completly. and hollows are created when a person feels a emptiness in their heart and cant pass on until they are happy. go watch beginning episodes

it was explained that kenpachi cant use a bankai because of way he thinks of his sword. He never learned his swords name, nor cared to he saw it as a tool and not a being like others did. However not like he needed it, he's one of the most powerful warriors in series hands down.

actually no, he says he his zanpakto is already in its unsealed form, like ichigos sword is he doesnt have to unseal it to unleash its full power. However unlike ichigo he cant call on his swords power because he doesnt know its name, bankai comes from sword knowing its name calling on its power and being one with your sword. Kenpachi cant use bankai because he sees his sword as a tool and nothing else. Watch ichigo vs kenpachi again, and see why he'll never have a bankai.

actually he never ever ever says that all zenpachi says is that his swords already in its unsealed form. unless can quote me the exact line, and time where he literally says " my retsu's to big to seal" which i dont recall him ever saying...like ever.

go watch tail ends of episodes 38 right before he breaks zangetsu he says "the reason i dont seal my soul slayer is because my spirit pressure is so huge, i couldnt seal it even if i tried as hard as i could" there ya go enjoy

@1233dragon1233 incorrect, his sword is currently in Shikai, he mentions it to Ichigo when they first fight in the Seireitei, and he also mentions that he can NEVER achieve Bankai due to that his sword will never speak to him since he never bothered to see it as a being, just another tool for killing.
