How marvelous to hear Mozart's words inflected for the theatyre and as if they really meant something instead of the usual chipmunk chatter that passes for "authenticity!" How I detest the operatic performances and the arrogant charlatans posing as "experts" we have to suffer today. The magnificent tempi and orchestra playing here are under the supervision of that great Maestro, Erich Kleiber.
