This movies says 1992, but really it looks & sounds (especially the soundtrack) like it was made in 1982. It also looks like a rip-off of Mortal Kombat games. That being said, I think I will go try and find/download it. Even if I don't like it, it would be a nice addition to my Martial Arts movie collection.

@1o2o3e Were Bruce Lee around today I think he'd be very interested in MMA and the Gracie family's ground work techniques, he'd likely embrace and study them himself and incorporate them in his Jeet Kune Do. I don't think Lee would be impressed by your defending his martial arts like this - he was all about learning and fusion. As a scholar and expert practitioner in martial arts he'd not be so dumb as to fail to see the limited effectiveness of standing trading blows prooved through MMA fights.

@marginatus um dude... you obviously don't understand the core principles of Jeet Kun Do. It IS MMA. It's what MMA came from. Bruce's iteration of JKD didn't stress takedowns or grappling; however, watch the uncut Game of Death or the first fight in Enter the Dragon. And, yes Bruce could've knocked out a "big MMA fighter." He might have jabbed him in the eye or stomped his instep to disorient him first. JKD was always based on fighting to avoid imminent death meaning "by any means necessary."

I agree with you I saw a video of bruce lee fighting in the 1960's. he moved so fast I could barely see what he is doing, and that was back then, he annihilated 10th degree black belt grandmasters in a matter of minutes, compared to today's MMA fighters, they move at the speed of a slug compared to Bruce Lee, plus Bruce Lee knows Dim Mak, he knows how to attack pressure points, and do moves that are not allowed in MMA. Too many rules in MMA, they dont have the killer instinct of bruce lee.

@kabfik bruce lee never killed he got the fighting spirit :P, and what is more you cant do it proffesionally if you dont have fighting spirit it is imossible and dont compaire heavy weigh to bruce and what is more important when you go against somebody who is skilled speed doesnt matters at all :) and he could know dim mak but he doesnt know jiu jitsu ground game and I saw how gracie defeated many martial artists but if bruce have been training for a half year grappling he would be maybe best

@ReikoX7 Dude, Bruce lee had LOTS of ground game. Watch Enter the Dragon's first fight scene with Sammo Hung. He ends it with a modified arm bar. Ground work was simply not Bruce's ideal choice for ending a fight. He grew up in HK. Fights in his time were RARELY 1on1. In which case, a ground game attack would leave you very vulnerable. Thus, Bruce was much more comfortable striking. JKD stresses to grow your strengths and train to reduce or prepare your weaknesses.

@ReikoX7 You seem to be missing the point. My comment was on the nature of Lee's preference of striking, but also having GG (see any JKD curriculum). Remember, Liddel also preferred striking. Would you say Liddel had NO CHANCE against Hoyce? You are correct that it would be against Bruce to fight in UFC and that he COULD loose. UFC fighters rely on the RULES to ensure a fair fight ie: NO head kicks when 1 knee is down. Lee trained for fights with no protective rules. Bar fight = Lee's advantage.

@ReikoX7 I don't contest that he could not be beaten. In fact, he's dead so he already lost to Royce or anyone else for that matter. The point that I'm making is that MMA in UFC is constrained by rules where a Striker like Lee would be hampered. In a barfight, Lee would have a considerable advantage over anyone as his JKD is suited for no rules. Any JKD curriculum is heavy on BJJ training. JKD is pure unadulterated MMA. How an instructor teaches it is limited only by his own skill set. JKD = MMA

@rstheoneandonly Again, check the opening fight of Enter the Dragon for an example of GG by Bruce. A better example would be the uncut version of Game of Death when he faces the Judo opponent. Bruce was fascinated by grappling and joint manipulation. Read some of the JKD books and you'll see that. But, for him he simply didn't want to let a fight progress that far where a take down was needed (ie: against an opponent that could be subdued with striking). This has been a fun exchange by the way.

As for UFC, it's now elbow spikes to an opponent ever, no kicking an opponent when they have one knee on the mat, no heel strikes to the kidneys while using the guard position, no small joint manipulation, no toe stomping, no direct tracheal compression, no open hand blows to the ears, and no headbutts. The last one is the worst as that was Hoyce's favorite move. It's probably why he lost when he came back to UFC.

Bolo, though impressively strong and is quick, he cannot reach the same kind of agility Bruce did, and for that reason Bruce would win, HOWEVER, if Bolo somehow could corner Bruce, and able to block enough of those attacks to get close, he could beat Bruce easily.
