I grew up in california and I have made this for years.. It is a wonderful dip. I make it bit different. Instead of the chopped tomatos I use fresh salsa. And instead of the avocados I make quacamole using a pico de gallo (cilantro, tonatos, onions and the lime juice, salt and pepper to taste then the avocados) In the beans I add a bit of jalapeno juice to them and they are so tasty! Thank you for sharing your recipe. It looks great! :)
at first, I was like green pepper? but it was a minor word swap, it was really green onions! looks yummy, what do you do with all the food you make (:
@randomocity42o Thanks for your comment! We eat a lot of leftovers. I also send extra desserts with my son-in-law to work to share with his co-workers.
This looks great. I am on a diet now, but if I make my "weigh in" this weekend, my wife promised to make it for me. For now all I can do is look and wait. :-)
I have a wonderful guacamole recipe in bettyskitchen. It is called Betty's South of the Border Guacamole Dip. You might want to look at it--it is very good! Thanks for bringing up this great recipe!
It was really unintentional. I decided to upload a quick and easy nachos recipe for the Super Bowl back in January. It turned out to be very popular, so I uploaded a few more recipes--and it just grew from there. I started putting all my favorite recipes up, and new ones that I thought of, and then I decided that I would eventually print them all out as a cookbook for my family. I am really enjoying doing the videos, although it is taking more of my time than I expected!
My Mexican cooking is "Americanized," so I'm not really up on all of the flavors that go into taco seasoning. It is pretty obvious that there is a little difference in flavor for tacos, enchiladas, burritos, and fajitas--so I just use the appropriate flavor packets or canned sauces. Sorry I can't help here....Thanks for your compliment!
betty saves the day again lol thanks.

What is the serving size for this dish?
greenkawkabmuhsinah 1 year ago
@greenkawkabmuhsinah It can be whatever you want. If it is the only item in the meal (lunch, for example), it might feed 6 people.

@SuperNenalove With lettuce and tomatoes in it, you should keep it very fresh. If you change some ingredients, then you can bake it.

How about making some Guacamole?
Just add chopped onion and tomatoes to the avocado, then mix them. You can add some chilli if you'd like...

I like your kitchen. My mom used to make a dip like this when i was little but she didnt use as much stuff and she heated it to melt the cheese.
RedWhiteandBetrayed 2 years ago
Melting the cheese sounds great--I would need to change up the layers a little--but that's a very good idea! Thanks!!!
