And if you check out the stats on fifa's website, you can clearly see that for a year from 2005 to 2006 we were in the top 10, and for 5 months we were in the top 5 then we went down due to that horrible performance at the cup, the best we have reached has been 4th.

After watching the highlights I would say that both team had great chances, you can't deny that the US got more into to the match in the second half. The Copa America in 2007 was just a tryout for unexperinced players for the US, that was their B-team or C team.
