Isn't it interesting how jazz music can combine with almost every other genre of music and give birth to something incredible, unique and viable. Yet, as much as Roy is giving it everything he's got, this type of groove is not suited for the jazz trumpet. As much as I want to , I just can't hear it.

For me the backing groove in this style just does not do enough for the trumpet. Hargrove is doing everything, but the music doesn't really take off. And man if he can't make it work ... well
