Check out his finger technique. When he plays the ghosts with his fingers, his wrist (left hand) hardly moves.

Cool................Gary Chaffee's book, Technique Patterns is a good one for that.

it seems less pronounced because he is using traditional grip and you dont have quite the same range of motion in the left hand as you do in the right but yes he uses a hybrid moeller stroke and he is letting the bounce work for him.
