This is so amazing!!!! You rock Graeme for being able to present such a memorable footage considering limited access and availability to a video camera back in this day. Always wanted to see footage of the Wonthaggi line up and running and has got me falling back on my chair!
Fantastic to see I lived at Wonthaggi and used to travel on that train it brings back so many memories it is great to see that history has been perserved, thankyou to the person who recorded this.
@utoobeigiveup That was me. That little railmotor you used to travel on spent some years in the railway museum at Williamstown. It was taken out and restored and now runs on the Yarra Valley railway at Healsville.
You can ride it there now. It's on youtube if you type in - RM22 Healesville Yarra Valley Railway - on youtube search you will find it. Great to hear from you. Thanks for your comments.
@westfootscrazy Great memories. About all left as main reminders of the line now, are the old highway bridge and Bourne Creek trestle bridge at Kilcunda and and the station and station building at Wonthaggi.
@gobombers07 No worries. I've a similar vintage video from 8mm film of D3 639 to Kirrak mines-- and it bringing out one of the last loads of Wonthaggi coal just before they closed the mine in 1968 nearly ready to upload also.

It really bought back memories from my childhood, I am glad someone had the forethought to keep this kind of history, well done.
