@Hw123321 Yes, I agree. Lots of bugs, lots of limitations. It does not seem compatible with Windows 7 and the company has never released any patches or updates.. It was the first game engine software in which you could make 3D first-person games without programming knowledge, so it is special in that way. Now there is FPS creator, however. That software looks much more promising.
@MrRojinx Hi. I fixed the link in the annotations leading to the new game walkthrough. Are there any other links that are broken? If it is the download link for the games, that probably means the school server was down temporarily. Thanks for commenting and let me know if there still link problems.
@GreendudeDJK The link for the downloading the game is in the description box, but I don't know where you can find a free version of missionmaker--the software for producing the game. That is fairly expensive - 400 USD - and it is buggy and hasn't been updated since it was released in 2006. You better try it out before buying it. If you can't find a cracked version anywhere, you can try asking your school to get a copy (it is considered educational software).
After working with MissionMaker in Windows XP, Vista7 and Windows 7, I think I will have to go along with Hidden Trojan's criticism. Unless you are working with Windows XP or Windows 2000 (and don't plan on upgrading), the game engine is simply too buggy to work with. I defended the game in the past, but there are just too many problems.
@coolguy12391 Hi, yeah, there is no way to save a game. The software for making the game has lots of limitations and that is one of them. You can see HiddenTrojans comment on this page about some of the others. So why even use the software if it so limited and buggy? I think it is probably the only way for someone without programming knowledge or animations skills to produce a 1st-person action game.
@619amirkhan: You can't change the noise of the gun, but you can add a sound effect that plays immediately after you shoot someone or something. First go to media and then add a .wav file that you downloaded or recorded, then assign this media file an action (e.g., Scream2 Plays when Alien2 is Shot by Player or Alien2 says Scream2 when Alien 2 is shot by Player) .
I really detest MissionMaker. I had to use it for my Diploma in Digital Applications, and after making an extensive game, you can really say it simply is not adequate for purpose.
The controls are too simplistic and long-handed, the software is glitchy, some of the functions do not operate correctly or fail after certain periods of time, there is no way to code it manually and worst of all, because it has been insufficiently tested, it actually caused damage to my computer from voltage leak.
@HiddenTrojans Yeah, this software is very buggy. The keyword in your comment (besides 'detest') is 'extensive'. For those of you considering using Missionmaker, I would recommend:
a) keep the game short and relatively simple (make a mini-game)
b) don't add video (the exported game will crash)
c) change the file name as you save it (in case you need to go back because of a programming glitch)
d) delete outdated rules
e) don't have many different things going on simultaneously
To get, the game engine (MissionMaker), you can either buy it from the producer's (Immersive Education) website or search for a cracked version on the web (As we are a school studio, we have the bought version. It isn't cheap).
To download the finished game, click on the link in the information section (above), download and install the MissionPlayer file, download the zipped games, unzip them (if you are using Windows try 'right click' + 'extract here'). Double clicking on the extracted file.
You can see my response to cecfagregas313 below. He asked a similar question. I think the company who makes the software would be able to sell a lot more copies if they reduced the price to make it similar to a normal PC game.
Legally? You should buy it from the Immersive Education website (The site, however, is down. I wonder if maybe the company has folded).
Illegally? Try searching on Google for 'mission maker download'. There seem to be a few copies floating around on sites like rapidshare and files-express.
If you want to create game, a google search for 'missionmaker download' will probably give you a few sites. If you buy it from the Immersive Education site, it is a little expensive (around 140 USD). The site seems to be down at the moment, however. If you just want to play the game (although it's more fun to make your own), you can get the 'Missionplayer ' software free at lots of places (see the 'more info' part) at the top right of the screen.
This is shit and difficult software to work with. There are so many glitches! Rating: 2.5

Not legally, but if you look hard enough . . .

It really is more fun when there's not just one voice for everything, isn't it?

It is . . . but I wish you could design your own characters (like in Spore's creature creator).

Will you put your game on the web when you are done? (BTW, you might need to put it in a ZIP file first so people can download it).

The software for playing the game (MissionPlayer) is free. The software for producing the game (MissionMaker) is available from Immersive Education.
