They're not stealing. They bought the games so they can do whatever they want to them at that point. Taking out the promo code sucks, but they're entitled to do so before they resell them. If we want that code in the box, we need to buy the game from somewhere else (screw Gamestop.)
My parents got me MW3 for Christmas but the people at gamestop gave us only the case with world at war and it was really pissing me off that someone was cheap enough to do that

Sorry Gunns, but I got to disagree with you on this. Unlike Walmart, Gamestop is actually buying the games directly from the company and then selling them for a higher price. So between the time that they buy it and sell it, they can do whatever they want with it. Is it unethical, yes. Is it stealing, no. Am I still going to shop there, no.

Futureshop is better anyway. I bought la noire and played it for a week and traded it in. The trade in value was 47 dollars which is a hell lot more then eb games would give me. Plus with that store credit it can go to somthing other then video games.

What if I want to get a special edition from gamestop because it comes with exclusive in game stuff that isn't available at say future shop? I'm pre ordering AC:R from there for the exclusives.

I was actually at an e.b games when they were talking about removing the coupon. I thought it was funny how the guys doing it were pisses as hell because they're fellow gamers. I would boycott them but i have 4 or 5 preorders with them right now. But after that I think I will definitely only use them as a last resort.

Gamestop should've have refused to sell Deus Ex from the begining, which is well within there rights. If they wanted to sell cartons of milk they could if it makes them money thats business. However anyone who bought the game opened should have got it at second hand price or they should get a refund & buy the game some place else. Finally is Gamestop the only place you can buy games? No there are plenty of places you can buy them, some of them almost certainly cheaper than Gamestop.
Man I bought a used PS3 ""from gamestop"" i just tried to take it back the other day to get a newer model, because i had a 40GB, and they said the person that sold it to me removed all the stickers on it so they don't know if it is stolen so they can't take it. I just said F*ckn gamestop sold it to me, but they wouldn't take it so i had to go to best buy get a hard drive 250GB for 50 bucks. And I can't say imma go shop somewhere else cause gamestop has the lower priced used games :(

I used to shop at Gamestop when I lived in Canada, they were idiots, trying to sell me some kind of disc insurance n all that but if ya smart enough you can see through the whole charade and just get what ya came in to get. Same about damaged 2nd hand games, just ask to look at disc, don't accept if it looks bad.

I have several issues with GS.: If you dont pre-order and you go in on release day they have no copies. I can understand preordering big label games, but it's a waist of my time to preorder EVERY game. If I had found my game opened I would have been pissed.

Its not theft. This entire arguement is flawed. They bought the game and as a retailer have complete legal ownership of it. They could take out the cd and sell you the empty cases if they wanted as long as they told you there was no game inside. Being a coupon this is even less of an issue. Deus Ex could have offered the free trial online by putting the code in the game itself. Gunz is too emotional and doesnt rationally look at the situation.

EB was bought out by Gamestop. There is no more EB game stores. Btw I think I will continue being a costumer of gamestop. The eb games at my house is great. They are extremely friendly and always make sure you get everything you're supposed to get. They're friendly, all locals and they all share a love for games. Some places may suck, but the EB games near my house doesn't
Lulz, they did this to me when I bought NFS last year. I bought a BRAND NEW copy and didn't get an online pass. So I just returned it and went to Wal-Mart and bought a new copy. Pain in the ass, but at least I got to play online. I NEVER go to GameStop ever since I got a high end PC. Steam > GameStop.

The problem is the full price they expect people to pay if it's open. A new game is unopened, still in the plastic wrapper. Gamestop sucks. I sold my games there on my birthday. All my games from Gamecube to Gameboy. Including the consoles & it was about $80 store credit on a gamestop card. They ended up giving another guy my money..
I have been boycotting GS/EB since i was 12. They have terrible customer service, they rip you off when buying used games, and everything is way overpriced. This is just the icing on the urinal cake.
I hat gamestop (or EB games in Australia). They are greedy, unhelpful overpricing c**ts. Other stores sell games for more the 20% less then EB. I think Gamestop needs to come down from their throne and actually serve their customers.
The only reason why I would ever go to gamestop would be to get a preorder. I refuse to get any other kind of purchase there whether it be used (because out of 10 used games, BioShock was the first to actually work when I put it in my xbox) or new. I would love to boycott Gamestop but that would require me to not be the only one in the rally with a lone sign trying to rally everyone that thinks I am a loon.

Well, I wouldn't mind any of this if they said that "You know, we don't support our competitiors" and if they returned all of the copies back. Then that would have been their policy and I would just buy that game from somewhere else. But now what they did is absolutely retarded and illegal, since they took the coupons out of the packages in secrecy, while the deal was probably to sell them as they are...

I notice that the top two comments mention that they either love or hate gamestop. If you ask me, it seems that the service quality of stores, (worldwide) seem to differ. This video is talking about GAMESTOP, itself. Not the store you go to buy at. If you are displeased with the service or product you receive fromyour outlet store, complain to that store, no need yell at the people who had nothing to do with it.

I have several issues with GS.: If you dont pre-order and you go in on release day they have no copies. I can understand preordering big label games, but it's a waist of my time to preorder EVERY game. If I had found my game opened I would have been pissed.

Its not theft. This entire arguement is flawed. They bought the game and as a retailer have complete legal ownership of it. They could take out the cd and sell you the empty cases if they wanted as long as they told you there was no game inside. Being a coupon this is even less of an issue. Deus Ex could have offered the free trial online by putting the code in the game itself. Gunz is too emotional and doesnt rationally look at the situation.

This is bullshit I've heard of stuff going around like that and also when I went to go buy shift 2 unleashed they asked me if I wanted to play online and I said yes but thing that got me was that it cost like 10 bucks more and even on the game case it told u that it came with it free... EB was bought out by Gamestop. There is no more EB game stores. Btw I think I will continue being a costumer of gamestop. The two stores I go to are nice and the ppl who work there are helpful and kind. If they do what was explained in this video then...so what. As long as I get my fully functional game.

The eb games at my house is great. They are extremely friendly and always make sure you get everything you're supposed to get. They're friendly, all locals and they all share a love for games. Some places may suck, but the EB games near my house doesn't

Lulz, they did this to me when I bought NFS last year. I bought a BRAND NEW copy and didn't get an online pass. So I just returned it and went to Wal-Mart and bought a new copy. Pain in the ass, but at least I got to play online. I NEVER go to GameStop ever since I got a high end PC. Steam > GameStop.

people go ask any gamestop employee they will tell you the true story. dont act like a pompus asshole and think you know anything about the situation. and gunns left out one big piece of info it was only the pc versions of the game. square enix didnt tell gamestop about the coupons and therefore have recalled all pc versions. so get the story straight before you make an ass of yourself.

The problem is the full price they expect people to pay if it's open. A new game is unopened, still in the plastic wrapper. If it's already open, I want it to be under the category of used games and get it cheaper then. Boycott? no.

I hat gamestop (or EB games in Australia). They are greedy, unhelpful overpricing c**ts. Other stores sell games for more the 20% less then EB. I think Gamestop needs to come down from their throne and actually serve their customers.

The only reason why I would ever go to gamestop would be to get a preorder. I refuse to get any other kind of purchase there whether it be used (because out of 10 used games, BioShock was the first to actually work when I put it in my xbox) or new. I would love to boycott Gamestop but that would require me to not be the only one in the rally with a lone sign trying to rally everyone that thinks I am a loon.
