THANKS MAN!! a note to others DO NOT try this level with the grunt funeral skull on. it makes it sooo hard, i did it so others can but jeez someone shoulda told me! i still like that this guy sounds like Seth Rogen, if i wanted to hear someone talk me through a level it would be seth rogen. he keeps it light yet on target.

I found that the combo of grenades & sniping to work well & allow me to keep the guys back (since I had more control over my advancement)...however I play on the 360...could that be an influence ?

Every body you don't have to do the control room battle after the 3 sword elites, you can just run straight to the launch bay.

I had to come and watch this video because Captain Keyes died right when I activated the control panel. I got the 'Captain Keyes had died' message, but it started up the next level, so I didn't get to see the very end of the level.

Keys does get in the way pretty much the same at all play levels, an annoying trait of his AI, right at the exit of the holding cells he says "Chief, take point" but he's the first one to do otherwise... can say how many time he met his demise at the hands of the other marines just for getting in the way.

Keyes never got in my way back in the days that I played heroic, or normal when I first started. I've never beaten this level on legendary, I got to the hangar bay and quit because of my accessive death count and not getting anywhere. But that was a while ago, and I have since learned new tactics and watched your walkthrough. thanks alot, I'm pretty sure I can do it now!

the only camofluged ones that are dangerous are the plasma rifle cloak ones on legendary they drain your helth and you cant even see them

hey i [layed this lvl on heroic and got to the control room and killed the elites and cortana said hold here and it skipped to the end cutcene and i said i beat the mission???

I haven't ever played heroic much, but it sounds like a glitch to me.

On lower difficulty, That final control panel where you activate to release the dropship. If you activated it BEFORE you rescue Capt Keys, then afterwards the game will end early.

This is because that control panel is not checked for being toggled "ACTIVATED" until the last dash for the hangar bay. But you can toggle it ACTIVATED at any time.

And true, its not allowed in LEGENDARY difficulty.

Stayed up REALLY late last night and finally beat this level couldn't believe it thank you so very much of course at the end Keys kept dieing you know running into grenades being retarded but I got him through only took a few tries to get to the check point after that I was able to get to the shuttle bay kill the elite and blow by the rest. After I get out of work I move on to unknown territory for Legendary. Next level any easier?

Hey, really? u can kill a red elite with one shot of the head? cause ive tried lots of times on the truth and reconciliation level, like in the begining where u "recon" the covanent position... and i have one question, what is the difference between, Halo Custom edition, and just regular full Halo?

I picked up some of the that info on what is considered a respected Halo site, but they were wrong. They either made a mistake or were referring to a different level of difficulty. So, I just corrected the comment below after testing it out in several situations. Good catch!

That's a good question. You can play all the standard multiplayer maps along with many user created maps and most agree that the coding is better in Custom Edition and it definitely includes more features. The main drawback is that the vast majority of players almost never use it anymore, so it's become kind of dead at this point. But, I'd say it's still worth the free download if you have room for it. Just know the more maps you add to it, the longer it'll take to startup.

@ForumsExtremeDotCom There is a way to play campaign in custom edition just with a few changes. You have to download every map one at a tim though.

dude, thanks, i love ur tatics, it helps me lots, but it is possible to kill blue elites with ONE shot, a head shot, but im not sure about red or yellow ones...

Hey thanks. Yeah, I probably wasn't specific about that. You should be able to kill Blue Elites with a single headshot with the sniper (I just often get body shots, so it takes 2). Red and Yellow/Gold Elites take 2 headshots with the sniper and Stealth/Active Camo/Invis Elites have no shield, so you can kill them with one headshot with a pistol. (Corrected Comment)

Yeah, in the context of the title of this video CE was meant to stand for Combat Evolved, which is just sort of the subtitle for regular Halo 1. But, in other contexts Halo CE means Halo Custom Edition, which is a free download for Halo Combat Evolve PC users. So, it's understandable if you were confused.
