I love that all these years later people still insist on varying meanings to this song. I've heard dozens of explanations but the most fun ones involve bizarre tales of heavy drug use and the writers struggle to keep it together while partying.
@prybar49 Apparently the song writer was writing about song writing. He's staying up late and trying to decide about staying up more and continue to write.
@prybar49 It's 3:30 a.m...or there abouts...they're still passing the mirror around the room...you look at the clock on the wall and try to figure out whether it's 25 or 6 to 4. "Should I try to do some more?!"
A song that made no sense to me lyrically but a blast!!! You can't play this loud enough. It has so much going for it; probably in the top 25 of all time classics that influenced rock early on.
After Jimi Hendicks saw Terry his comment was DAMN!!! But what would he know about it? RIGHT?

Anyone ever realize the main riff and bass line to this song is the same from Zeppelin's "Babe I'm Gonna Leave You"?

Jimi worshiped Terry Kath. He said after a show one time that Terry " Was the best guitar player in the universe" May they both RIP.

Ok, with all due respect to terry kath, putting him in a class with jimi is just ludicrous...top 20 is reasonable, but come on

Did every 70s high school in America use this one in every cheer leading squad? It sure seemed like that back home.
