The reason why it was not sold or shown here was that broadcasters here felt that the subject matter made it inappropiate for screening here what with terrorist problems here what with the IRA and various irish terrorist groups and Northern Ireland and as a result it was felt that it was upsetting for a lot a people and ITV for example was showing it the IBA would have either requested cuts or if neccessary banned it
Thanks DPWW1 for posting. I live in the UK and this show never made it to terrestrial tv here, I did read that Ally Fowler made an appearance on Possession.
Unfortunately Possession wasn't sold to British television however it was dubbed into German and was sold to a German satellite broadcaster during the 1990s- this signal could be received by viewers in the UK with Sky satellite equipment. This German channel also screened Neighbours and the cop show Special Squad.
