  • This guy was a legend, period.I love the way this guy managed a game. Those Big Reds mahine teams were amazing and who can forget that 1984 Tigers team. They started out 35-5 right out of the gate.

  • One of the greatest baseball minds of all time- if not the greatest. It's a real sad day.

  • Rest in Peace, Sparky. I'll never forget going to Riverfront Stadium with my grandpa to watch the Big Red Machine.

  • @fulcher33 awsome memory

  • @aredsfanz4192 Yeah, I grew up in the 70's and 80's. At one time I can remember Kroger's giving away 8x10 photos of each player on the Big Red Machine if you bought a 6 pack of Barq's Root Beer or something like that. My grandma got me every single one of them and then my grandpa took me down to the stadium and got us a seat over the dugout and I was able to get all of them signed by each player before the game. I'm now 43 years old and have no idea what happened to them. What a shame.

  • A kind ,friendly person who never had a problem talking and visiting with fans in the Thousand Oaks area. : (

  • The manager of my childhood and was always a great act to watch...love you Sparky

  • A true Legend. A reason to love baseball in it's purest form. Some team in Heaven just got an unfair advantage :) God bless you Mr Anderson.

  • So sad to see such a great mind wasted by dementia. He will be missed.

  • RIP SPARKY! GOOD MAN!
