  • You are so beautiful! Inside and out

  • You have a beautiful soul and your positive energy is contagious. Thanks for sharing this video!

  • I started watching your channel this week because you have great info for people like me who are beginning to experiment with make up. The first thing I noticed was your natural hair and I loved it because it looks gorgeous on you! I am natural and I have a natural hair channel and website. this was a very touching story.

You are beautiful and your hair is beautiful sis!

Thanks for all the beginner make up info.

  • wat does transition to ur hair mean

  • @andiebabyxxx Did you watch the video?

  • @BargainPrincess ya i did but i comented be4 i watched the video

  • You probably don't remember, but I told you about a 1 ago that I would love to go natural. I grew my hair so long and that made it difficult for me to stop relaxing. I told you I was not strong enough. You told me I would if I really wanted to. Does words I'll never forget, so inspirational. I feel that I have accomplish almost everything I've ever wanted to, but that!. I'm FINALLY transitioning of the "CC" for 5months! God Help me I'll make it work! THANK YOU SO MUCH! This video is my booster<3

  • @biohanydesi Yes, I remember!!! Congratulations, I wish you nothing but the best in your journey to healthier hair!!! You won't regret your decision, because you did it for you & no one else ;)

  • Do you have a video log on this i want to go back to natural hair but i am afraid of the big chop because of my chubby cheeks

  • @beckjeezy You don't have to cut all your hair off at once. Do what I did and transition for 2 years. Check out my big chop video.

  • This is a true Testimony! I use to hate my hair when I was little girl and felt it was the ugliest thing ever. I got a perm at nine years old and then started wearing extensions at 11. But now I appreciate my hair and will wear my curly fro with pride.

  • @Catgirl2021 Congratulations! I'm happy for you :)

  • @TheMamiTall I know it's hard. Try to embrace your hair, by accessorizing it with cute hair accessories or funky jewelry. I'm sure you'll soon love your hair, once you get the hang of it :)

  • Thanks for the video. I am also currently transitioning due to hair loss(i am 24). I am glad to see that I am not the only one going through this process and I hope that my journey is as successful as yours

  • @leestar149 Good luck! :)

  • Do You Have To Chop Your Hair Off To Transition? Im 4 Months Post Relaxer & I Know I Have A Long Journey Ahead Of Me.

  • @2cut32handle Nope, but I recommend trimming your ends often. I transitioned for 2 years. Check out my "mini" big chop video ;)

  • i'm 17 and about 14 months post texturizer. i can't wait until march when i do the big chop!!!

  • @anewmeePassion Good luck :)

  • Hi, I love your videos. I wanted to know if you put anything on your scalp daily, like oils? I also wanted to know if you could please tell me what moisturizers you used when you were transitioning? I'm currently transitioning and I need some help with keeping my ends healthy and my new growth moisturized.

  • @cmcandys I don't really put much on my scalp. I'll either use shea butter or coconut oil on my hair & ends. When I transitioned I used shea butter and bb oil moisturizer (still use them today)

  • I went into the bathroom and chop all my hair off Im sick of relaxed hair it's refreshing

  • @laffy It sure is! Congratulations :)

  • @laffy I DID THE SAME THING TONIGHT!

  • @tonyautobodyandpaint omg really, how do u like it??

  • u hace nice teeth

  • @laffy Ty ;)

  • I just havr realll nappy hair sooo i admire ppl who can do it but really my hair is now soo thick and nappy and short cause i cut it that i can't even combe it

  • @naditsia Use conditioner on wet hair when combing your hair. Never comb or brush your hair when it's dry. Also, invest in a denman brush

  • Hey i get everyonbe but when i was little i had like um a little bit of straight with curly hair , but when i was growing up my hair became thicker and thicker i still loved my hair but my mom could not handle it. It was so thick that she would get cramps in her hands just for holding it so to put a elastic in it .. so finally i uesd relaxer. Now i am waiting on a afro straight not because it is better but because now the relaxed just broke my hair in those years so now i don't have any curl

  • @naditsia I'm sorry to hear that. Good luck

  • where r u from? u sound like u have a Caribbean accent.

  • @Msdanish16 Nope, I'm from the U.S

  • @Msdanish16 you don't interact much with carribeans now do you .... Cause i live in the carribean and know accents from guyanan jamaica etc and nopes she does not sound like that.

  • how do you get such good hair please help.....

  • @parireena What's your definition of good hair?

  • @BargainPrincess

Thank U for that Princess, I get so tired of other sistas talking about good hair. What the hell is good hair--straight hair?! Why does this qualify as good hair? Says who? So what is the so-called definition of good hair, and who the hell made these decisions? That's the real ??????? We need to stop the self-hate.

  • @BargainPrincess i have normal hair i dont use any thing except for sampoo and conditioner frm treseme....but i use flat iron sometime..... my problem is my hair falls alot and m really worry abt it i wanna know what kind of hair product do you thing we need to use to take care of hair

  • @parireena It doesn't sound like you use a heat protectant? If not, It is very crucial to protect your hair from the heat. As we all know, heat can be very damaging- especially when used all the time. Also, I recommend deep conditioning your hair, keep it moisturized and don't forget to trip your ends

  • super-gorgeous

  • @1990banks Aww thanks hun!

  • @BargainPrincess Your Welcome =)

  • I'm currently transitioning and experiencing some breakage and my hair is very dry no matter how much I deep condition, co-wash and moisterize. Do you have any tips on how I can keep my hair as healthy as possible while transitioning???? Please help!!!

  • i sound just like u my hair was always neck length or an inch longer my mom relaxed my hair at 5 or 6 and i've always wanted long hair. I'm transitioning now but i'm still worried about how to stlye it but hopefully 2 years later it'll be healthy

  • Hello, I just love your hair lady.....I cannot wait until my hair is that long :) I did my BC last week & I LOVE IT!! I dealt with the 2 textured for 4 months before doing the BC though but I just adore my TWA.....thanks for the videos they're helping me so much. I learn SO SO much on youtube......IDK why it took me SO long to go natural....I'm NEVER going back!!!

    - MO

  • @PINKICEPRINCESS88 Congratulations on your big chop!!!! :D

  • you are so pretty, i love the way you talk :) lol

  • @TheChipotleLover Lol ty! ;)

  • I just came across this video!! And I think that you would have looked beautiful with a TWA. Your bone structure could handle a style like that. But we all have our preferences of how we feel most comfortable. Congrats through!!!

  • @757chaneal Thanks

  • I love that u called ur self a little Bit*h lol wow!!! I was too........ But any way Luv ur story. It is very close to my story. I luved that Tyra show!

  • @alaughlin33 Lol! Thanks hun. I'm glad to know I wasn't the only "biotch" growing up...haha ;)

  • Im just saying IM 15 and going natural and Im almost 9 months into my journey. My friends (3 of them) have decided to go natural along with me. There arent many people at my school that are natural. I was scared at first, but Im so happy im going natural. I saw that episode of the tyra show && I agree. it was soo sad

  • @Chinaboo94 I'm so happy for you! I know it was probably hard in the beginning especially, at such a young age, but now your 9 month strong & inspiring others!! Good for you!!! Good luck :D

  • I love your name! So incredibly smart!

  • @MissBillieH Thank you ;)

  • Idk I remember you saying you transitioned for 2 years...at times were you frustrated? U should do a video on that because I look at your hair and its so pretty...I am in my transitioning stage, and it'll probably take that long for my hair to be completely natural...so I have to deal with the split ends, the waiting...ugh..its so difficult :(

  • @mskittye Of course! It's not an easy journey in the beginning, because your dealing with two textures. Eventually, you'll get the hang of it & the journey will be a lot easier. To speed up the process & eliminate the split ends, try giving yourself a small trim once month. Deep condition once a week and keep your hair very moisturized. Good luck!

  • very well said

  • I dont know what influnced yall back in the day..I am prob. the same age as you and I had my hair in pig tails just like the little girl on tyra....and I loved it...all my friends were like that...no self esteem at all I was proud...but thats in the south and in chas. SC we still have a strong black presence hair with alot of African Influence..you can hear it in our dialect still...I hope its around for my children...and so on

  • toucing--- it looked lke you were tearing up a little. i do have relaxed hair. it is very hard to keep up. i respect your decision.

  • Btw I too am natural......and I think you and your hair are both beautiful...good luck on your hair journey!

  • @icisprincess09 Thanks so much! I'm loving my natural hair ;)

  • Okay, this comment is a bit late 8 months to be exact lol......I just wanted to clear up a previous message that i posted .....I want to go on record and state i totally agree with yours and any other womans decision to go natural. I was saying that i dont agree with young girls hair being chemically processed, because of the hair loss i have experienced.

  • @icisprincess09 It's ok ;) I'm glad you feel that way now! How's your journey going?

  • the bargain princess logo is really bothersome

  • @happieeyore Why?

  • @BargainPrincess because its like on your face so im focusing on the logo and not you lol

  • @happieeyore Lol oic. I'll remember that for next time

  • Comment removed

  • @bessyakabossy Thanks hun ;)

  • It's extremely hard for some black girls to go natural during their highschool and college years because that's when your really around guys and they think the boys won't like them without hair because you have to kinda start over and it's true in some cases but It's hard for some

  • @CerebralMadness True. But if this person truly feels that way around these boys, then don't transition or find hairstyles your comfortable with. If she doesn't, then she'll end up hating her journey and her hair even more. Transitioning isn't easy, so it would make the transitioning process a lot harder then what it has to be.

  • i love ur hair! :)

i've been transitioning for about 6 months. i used to think straight hair was the best hair, but now i find natural hair to be beautiful. i'm noticing that without a relaxer, my hair grows much faster and thicker.

  • @Dare2Lose150 Thank you!

I'm so happy for you!! Good luck on the rest of your journey :D

  • I am so scared. My hair is breaking really badly, but it never got that bad until 8 months ago. I believe it's because of the chemicals. I would perm it, then after a while I would put extensions in it. I'm only 14, so I don't have a job and my mom doesn't care. Watching these videos is making me cry because my hair is really unhealthy and idk what to do. I was not willing to go natural because it was so short and damaged, so I keep braiding it with extensions and weaving it. HELP!! ;-(

  • @babyvae14 Check your inbox. I'm glad you made the decision to go natural. Remember: your doing this for you, not anyone else. People are always going to talk, so stand tall and laugh it off. Transitioning is going to have it's ups and downs, don't let that stop you! Search Youtube and natural hair forums for tips, style ideas, and advice to lead you through your journey. Good luck!

  • @babyvae14 ..if ur afrad to cut it all off mayb get it styled short stay aways from flat irons blow dryer etc avoid all heat, products with sulfates like (shampoo) alcohol (gels) try to find all natural products sleep with a scarf on ur head or get satin or silk pillow covers (cotton rubs again ur hair while sleepin pullin it out and damaging it ) get ur ends clipped ,try to keep ur hair moisturized with oils coconut, olive oils jojoba oil (not vegatable oil not a real oil) get a wide tooth comb

  • thank god for youtube

  • @oprah7 Lol I'll say! I've learned so much as well ;)

  • can i ask what are some good tips for natural hair and how often do you need to trim

  • @edvykoi The best tip I can give is to keep your hair moisturized! Avoid much heat as possible, & certain products such as petroleum, sulfate, alcohol etc. I don't trim my ends as often as I should. I guess it varies for different people

  • Has anyone ever told you that you look like Dawn from Danity Kane, just a bit lighter?

  • @3xquisit3 Nope. You're the first ;)

  • I just saw that video on Tyra a couple of weeks ago and I had to make a response video...seeing all those girl point on the afro was disheartening.

  • @vanie0295 Yes it was

  • I just wanted to say that I am14, and I have decided to go natural, because a perm breaks my hair, and you havee inspired me to natural after a lot of research. Now I have to convince my mom not to perm my hair. Wish me LUCK. =P. THANK YOU AGAIN. YOU'RE AN INSPIRATION TO ME.

  • @MegaYahoogurl Sorry for this late response.

Good for you girly! Good luck on your journey to healthy hair :D

  • ...2 years..... great...also love your videos

  • @ModischFrame Thanks so much!

  • Hi, I haven't had a relaxer since October and I'm trying to transition, but right now my new growth in the back of my head is really hard to comb through and now I don't even bother combing it out since its really rough and I don't want to cause a lot of breakage by pulling through my hair. Do you have any suggestions on what products I should try using to make my new growth soft and easier to comb through?

  • @cmcandys Never comb your hair when it's dry. That will cause a lot of damage to your transitioning hair. Try combing your hair in the shower, while your hair is lathered with conditioner, with a wide tooth comb. Start from the the bottom & work your way up to your roots. As for products, check out shea butter! I love this stuff. It's a natural product that is very moisturizing to the hair. Good luck

  • im curious..wat did u do to save your edges..cause im noticin mine doin the same as my mothers..but she has permed hair n mine has always been natural

  • I either use jam or eco styler gel to smooth down the edges. Brush that in place & tie a satin scarf on for 20 min or overnight

  • Hey I'm thinking of going natural too, how do you keep your edges down in the front?

  • I either use jam or eco styler gel for the edges. Brush that in place & tie a satin scarf on for 20 min or overnight for that sleek look.

  • @sapphirebhs try shea butter also just dab some with a big of water actually and slide your edges down and then use a scarf for 20 min.

  • i too started getting perms when i was little due my mom being white and she could'nt handle my hair, i am 4 months into transitiong and i also have very thick hair growing up into adulthood. I am having some negative feedback from those around me as well as my professional environment,, this truely a journey, but i am doing this for me !

  • Good for you!!!!!!!! It will all be worth it at the end. Keep it up :)

  • @ljb415

I can relate to you about the negative feedback. I just did the big chop last week and I have been getting so many crazy stares. I really do not care because I know it is the best decision that I have ever made for my hair.

  • Wow 2 years to totally natural. Great job. I am 10 months in and loving it. My transition has been totally positive. I cut about 2-3 inches per month. I now rock my shoulder length hair with a blow out and ceramic press. Cowashes, oil treatments and lace front wigs absolutely saved my hair from drastically doing the BC. That Tyra show was a real eye opener, broke my heart.

  • I'm sooo happy for you & your positive experience in transitioning!!! Good luck on the rest of your journey :)

  • I love your hairstyle in this :D how do u do it? x

  • just a simple bun ;)

  • great job on your decision to transition! ur so gorgeus and even balding wouldn't have stopped that! =) just curious, but what texture do you have naturally?

  • Lol thank you! Check out my newest hair vid using cantu shea butter. Their you'll be able to see what texture I have ;)

  • I don't think it's hereditary since your hair is a lot thicker now, I think it's just how your scalp is reacting to the NaOH in the relaxer. It's not the best thing to put on your hair, but I am very happy for you going natural :) And this is random, but I think you'd look beautiful bald.

  • LOL oh no!! Me with no hair & my big forehead...ekk!!

Lol, but thanks for your random compliment. It made my day ;)

  • Hi, Thanks for posying videos like this, its so empowering. I am starting my hair journey and I was wondering how did you maintain your new growth and relaxed hair?

  • You are so very welcome! Check out my hair videos for my transitioning styles. Good luck :)

  • "my hair would just never grow when I had a relaxer" That's sooo funny, did you get touch ups because if you did your hair WAS growing, you just wasn't retaining it! :-) I always LOL when people say that! It took me going natural, to be able to retain length also! Happy Hair Journey!

  • Your right. My hair was growing when I had a relaxer but it would just break off & shed everywhereeee. So that's why I said my hair just never grew.

Happy hair Journey to you as well ;)

  • Ive bn transitionin since 2006 because i don't want to chop my hair off. I have about 4 in of relaxed end only because i use to rarerly get my ends clipped. i need sum help!

  • Wow since 2006! I suggest for you to slowly trim away the relaxed ends yourself or just keep letting them grow out. Good luck

  • Thank you ma for your story and your transition. I've been asking other sistahs on YouTube about their change and what you said really hit home. I am a grown woman, on my own and I know that this is something I have to do. I have been playing tag-a-war with the though for a while but I know that going natural is the way. I love who I am I think being a black woman is one of the most beautiful thing and about of that love includes my hair. Black woman have to take back their hair.

  • Amen to that sista! Good luck on your journey to natural healthy hair :D

  • it sucks because most black girls get their hair relaxed as a young age...and so as I....it's all about learning how to take care of black hair so I'm glad that you are doing the transitioning for you and your children or future kids :)

  • Haha thanks so much ;)

  • im 15 and i got my last relaxer in august.

it messed my hair up, and 3 months later it is still breaking.

but i dyed it black last night and it feels healthier, as weird as that sounds.

and i saw a little curl in my hair and it made me so so happy.

i cant wait til all the relaxer is gone.

  • good luck with ur journey. im actually 13. ive relaxed my hair like 7 times.

Im actually really happy i havent relaxed my hair for nearly a whole year! *claps*

im so gratful for youtube seriously. if it wernt for youtube i wouldnt of even thought of going natural. i would of still been ashamed of my hair

Im actually excited to get my afro hair back. add me as a friend? we can talk about it? x

  • wow dye!? That does sound weird! Just make sure you keep your hair well moisturized, and trim those dead ends. Good luck!

  • Og what a coincidence! Im towards the end of my high school years (11th grade) & i'm finally on a journey to accepting myself & everything that I come with. I'm transitioning & learning not to try to alter my appearance or personality to please others. Thanks for this video! Great story!

  • Good for you! Good luck on your journey :)

  • Thanks. I BC'ed November.20. The video is on my other channel: smartblackchic

  • Congrats!

  • Thanks.

  • My mom relaxed my hair in the 2nd grade. I dont think its right, i lost plenty of hair behind it.

  • It's not right. Are you taking on the journey to go natural?

  • Girl my mama relaxed my hair by kindergarten lol, but i'm so glad i'm natural! Thanks for sharing!

  • oh wow!! good for you girly :)

  • I was about 4 or 5 when I had my first one and I see my edges are getting thin as well. I'm 18 now and I've decided to go natural because of my edges and because I want to embrace my beauty instead of someonelse's vision of beauty. My mom was always wanting me to get a perm and I didn't really pay any real attention to my hair anyway, until this year.

Thank you now I know there is at least hope to stopping my edges from thinning and maybe getting them to be thicker and longer.

    Great video!

  • Thank you, I'm so glad! Good luck on your journey to natural healthy hair :D

  • I was 5 too!

  • You are so inspirational and congratulations on your beautiful hair.

  • Thank you so much!

  • What are you talking about..What process? Who said I use a chemical to obtain "Jheri Curls". Transitioning to natural hair which I stated in the video is freeing the hair from all chemicals.

  • No one saild that you use chenamalce on you hair. i was agreeing with you on the comment you had in your video about when you used to use chemacale in your hair and you said you were staring to loosed your hair because of the chemacles. Don't misunderstand me what you are doing going natural is fantastic. :)

  • Hi, thanks for your testimony. I am transitioning and have only done so for 3 months. Most people transition for just a year or less. What made you decide on 2 years? I am curious. I am not in a rush with mines either. What styles did you use to transition for so long.

  • Congrats! I transitioned for 2 years, because I wasn't use to having such short hair. Most of The styles I did while transitioning can be found in my Youtube videos & half the time my hair was styled in a bun ;)

  • It is nice when you embrace your natural features...I love this video, very inspirational although I have straight hair.

  • It's ok!! Thanks so much :D

  • did you do the big chop....because thats one thing that scares me about going natural...

  • Yes I did! Don't be afraid, you'll know when the times right to do the BC ;)

  • You could be bald and still be beautiful!! But I am glad you made your switch. I don't go to salons as much anymore, more so cause of the money-none!

  • Hehe thanks so much! I hear what your saying, besides were I live I don't think anyone could handle my hair ;)

  • It's not that I don't like going, I enjoy the head message when they wash it, it feels fantastic! Of course, it costs but more so for giving it a break from the constant processing. But I have to get it cut every so often, you understand that. Mine can be hard to handle as well. The most I do to it is wash it, goop it with whatever tames it(hair conditioner-palmade?!) and wear it back in a tail or braid it.

  • Another thing: you look a lot like Kathy Sledge, one of the once famous Sisters Sledge.

  • oh...BTW i luv the earrings.

  • Thank you! :D

  • I know exacly where ur comin from when u said that you received ur first relaxer at a young age. I too have very thick hair. about 6 months ago i made the decision to go thru that transition to natural hair. somedays i do want to go back to a relaxer, but the thought of my outcome after this creates an unexplainable excitement in me. I am def ready to continue my journey. Kudos to you, Mama ; )

  • When you are fully natural your going to LOVE it!!

It's going to be hard at times, but trust me...

The results at the end are sooo worth the wait :)

    Good luck girly!

  • Thanks bargain princess...I checked out your Tyra videos...so sad! That made up my mind completely at 41 that I'm going natural...its been a month and I had some worried but after looking at that video, I know who I am and what I am and that is "Beautiful"

  • Wow, good for you! I'm so happy for you :D

Good luck on your journey & if you ever have any questions during your transitioning don't hesitate to ask!

  • omg i totally relate the women in my family are losing there hair also and mine started to come out and i stopped perming and my hair grew back thick and health i will never perm again....mine was for the same reason my cousin has lost all but a little of her hair and shes only 36

  • I'm so sorry to hear that. Hopefully you'll be able to encourage your family to make the right decision to go natural. It'll be the best thing for them!

  • Thanks you helped me a lot. I am seriously thinking about going natural and I am on the fence. I notice waiting longer to get a perm is causing my hair to grow longer so I am wondering if I go natural how much longer and thicker I can grow my hair. My hair is thick but is thining with the perm. Waiting longer is causing my hair to thicken and become fuller.

  • Definitely give it a try! You won't be disappointed, trust me ;)

  • was it hard for you to comb through the two textures for 2 years! i got my first relaxer when i was like 7!

  • It was hard in the beginning but then I got use to dealing with the 2 textures afterwards. The longer my new growth was the easier it was to comb threw ;)

  • Congrats....I just made a year natural!

  • Congrats to you as well!!! :D

  • I have been natural 4 months strong....Congratulations on your natural hair success!!

  • Thank you so much sweetie! & Congrats to you for being 4 months strong :D

  • OMG! You have the same story as me!! im posting my video tommorrow..crazy how going natural hides the hair loss imperfection... god is good right! ;-)

  • Right!!! Looking forward to seeing it :)

  • you have very nice hair, it is full and healthy looking.

  • Now it is!! It wasn't like this before...lol ;)

  • Wow, I ddnt know you were transitioning. I think it was a really touching and personal reason why you're transitioning...thanks for sharing this story! I bet it will look great when/if you cut it!

  • Thank you! I actually ended up cutting off my relaxed ends a couple months ago & I love it :D
