Dick has it spot on. Far be it for me to criticise a fellow nortie, but yer way out on facts here. Phil was indeed born in Hallam and he's a Lynott (Lie not).
His estranged wife checked him into Salisbury Infirmary, where a few days later, he unfortunately for me and millions of others, passed away. Not at his home on Kew Road as a lot of misinformed reporters reported.
Will love Philip Lynott forever! One of a kind he was!Still In Love With You Phil!!!! Such deep meaningful and heartfelt music.....Gone to soon, missed forever.......Glad to have seen him in 1980 in New Jersey US.......Love his music and listen to it everyday....30 years later!R.I.P Philo....my musical hero for me to! xxxxx
Paul you seem to have got it so wrong he was born in Hallam Hospital now Sandwell General Hospital in West Bromwich and not in Woodville his Mum was living there at the time and he died not at his house but in Salisbury Infirmary intensive care unit also his name was Lynott pronounced Lie not, Not Linnet Here is a quote from Philip himself from an Irish music mag called Spotlight Linnet is a bird, I'm not. my name is Lynott it rhymes with why not,.even the priest got it wrong he copied you.
This guy is wrong! The greatest memorial is not in the heart of Dubliners, it's in the hearts of Thin Lizzy fans all around the world. Not all Dubliners loved Phil but all Lizzy fans worshipped him & still do.
"for the love that people had for this enigmatic Irish Rock figure"... The correct word is HAVE...

The name Phil Linnit means nothing to me either. The name is pronounced Lie-not.

Very nice video ! I'm glad that Phil is remembered so well in his native country. Thin Lizzy is one of my favorite bands ever!
