I kinda have the same problem only worse... it takes about 1-2 minutes to boot the first time. Turns out my CPU (Pentium D 820) is not one of the supported CPUs. Tried all the BIOS upgrades out there, but I stopped carring as long as it works in the end.

It could be your video card. It may not support res of 600x460, like my current video card doesnt, and on the windows xp loading screan the screan res 600x460 i cant view it till password screan because mine doesnt support that low of a res.
did you plug your cable properly? sometimes your screen doesn't fit , i mean the resolutions , try a bigger TV / screen , and try to set around 800x600 and apply then shut down , bring it to your PC screen and plug back it in , my card has this problem , they say my screen doesn't have this resolution , so i have to do it that way
any pc can have this problem!!!!

i had same problem.i solved it by upgrading my bios.
use bios upgrader software provided by asus it will surely solve this problem
my specs.

@barrelstudios Go to JumperFree configuration, there you can chosse if you wan't preloaded overclock or your own...
