  • The Dorman replacement part is part # 924-706

  • I couldnt find anyone who had the replacement Dorman product in stock. I simply removed the original pink plactic one, and drilled a hole above the broken tab, and hooked the spring in it.

  • My car "06 magnum" so I removed the pink shift lock and put everything back together without replacing. Everything works fine like normal, is there any safety concerns I should have before buying the BT replacement part? Thanks

  • @meandmaze Without seeing the vehicle first hand, we really do not feel comfortable answering this question. Please consult a professional Technician to address any safety concerns.

  • One more thing. Even if your vehicle does qualify, you must *first* have them diagnose your vehicle at your expense. And to do that, they must dismantle everything around it just as they would when they replace it. So in essence, YOU are paying for the labor. It takes less than 30 seconds to remove the part and put the new one on. This part is plastic, Dorman duplicated it using an alloy for only $21. See my post on yahoo for the part and class action info. see post below for link.

  • Thank you. This happened to my sisters charger the first time I drove it. Pissed me off. Called the manufacturers at Chrysler and they said it had no recall notice. But obviously its a common problem. Cant believe they actually use a standard plastic piece for something that could cause people alot of trouble. Gonna install the new piece my self now. Thanks again.
