  • Peyton Place, the 1957 movie, is the one I like a lot. The Camden, Maine location made me want to live there.

  • RIP David Nelson.

  • Peyton Place was a great movie. Excellent cast, great script. A piece of Americana with all of the scandals, human frailities, and passion that Hollywood could muster from Grace Metalious' monster hit book.

  • Peyton Place (Gilmanton, New Hampshire). Grace Metalious ripped the lid off of the stench-filled community; & they despised her for it. Instead of appreciating the fact that she let some fresh air into the staid, puritanical caldron; the reaction was torrid shunning. How anal can one town be? I've interviewed folks there, (who referred to Grace as “Gracie” in an affectionate tone); who quietly seemed happy she wrote what she did.She is buried in Gilmanton Iron Works, Smith Meeting House Cemetery

  • What is the title to the song?

  • 3:19...Ryan O'Neal and Leigh Taylor-Young were made out to be a perfect couple.I remember seeing them together on more than one talk-show.I also remember when she left him because of his unfaithfulness.(A newspaper article in early 1972 read;Peyton's Leigh taylor-Young finds place without Ryan.)She has raised her son well and he is a successful announcer-more than I can say for Ryan's other kids by other wives

  • This is another great tribute to Hope. The original movie of Peyton Place had so many big name actor's in it.

I miss you Hope and may you RIP.

  • This is just wonderful. I love the Peyton Place movies and the novels by Grace Metalious. My friend bought me 4 lobby cards from the films original release as a gift several years ago and I so treasure them. I've never seen the TV series but Amazon just delivered Vol 1 and 2 to me today and I know I'm going to love it. Your postings are so great I'm going to subscribe right now. Again: A million thanks!

  • How young Ryan O'Neill looks! Sorry if it's mispelled!

  • if anyone is interested, i have the entire series on dvd, 514 episodes plus the four movies.

please contact me if you would like to own a set.

  • diane varsi was spot on as allison and lanaturner a great choice. in the early part of the tv show barbara parkins had the right slutty look. i understand that unfortunately the town metalious wrote about still hasnt forgivin her preferring to be remembered as the home of the killer in the white city. her book will live on as a classic as will the movie

  • This is such a beautiful movie thank you for posting this do you have the entire movie part 1 or 2? these are great classics i like to remember.

  • Interesting grouping of Photos - I don't care for the song chosen but the presentation is very nice ~ good job.

  • This isn't my originally chosen audio - I had to change it due to a copyright claim by Warner Music.

  • I understand ~ it's very nicely put together.

Peyton Place The series (I think) is coming to DVD this Summer - a nice item to purchase for PEYTON PLACE lovers.

  • Right on thank you for that info, i will be looking out for it i loved both movies 1 &2.

  • @Muirmaiden

My mother was inspired so much that she named me after Lana's character. I was born in 1958, but you & fans should know that I was a result of exactly what happened to Hope's character. My mom must have found solace in this story. Our relationship has often been enstranged, but I'm grateful I was allowed to live. The stepfather is dead, by his own doing. I did not realize how important this was until today. I'm doing research for my own book about my life!

    Thank you,

    Constance

  • Beautiful Hope Lange

  • Richard Dreyfuss was in this somewhere.

    xx

  • my youtube name is jmet69 the met stands for metalious Grace Metalious is my great grandmother

  • God bless your great-grandmother! She touched a lot of lives, in my opinion...in very positive ways. You should be very proud. It is because of her story I have this name.

    Thank you,

    Constance

  • Peyton Place did so much for Literature. African American Author referred to "Peyton Place" in her book "Mama". In the hit record "Harper Valley PTA" was referred in the One Hit Wonder by Jeanie C. Riley and David L. Lander (Squiggy) on Laverne & Shirley once said that the Paramount TV Studios was like "Peyton Place" what with all of the actors & actresses from "different" shows sleeping with each other.

  • The movie version of Peyton Place came out the year that I was born: 1957.

  • My Grandmother was an extra in the Movie. It was filmed in the Camden Rockland area of Maine.

  • This show would be a hit today.

    It is a classic.

    George Vreeland Hill
