  • is there another program like after effects ? can do the this type of video ? please answer me ! thanks

  • Hey what program do you use to record?

  • I'm sorry but this isn't a tutorial just random steps.

  • Where is the Dynamic?

  • This must be that tween music that sounds like someone is taking a crap.

  • @joshuacalebm i eat crap for breakfast

  • What recorder did you use ?

  • @ThisKittenTutorials Camtasia studio

  • @VDFM1 What version ??

  • @ThisKittenTutorials

This tutorial is made in CS4, you can use the older and newer versions also.

  • @VDFM1 What do you mean on CS4 ??

  • @ThisKittenTutorials creative suite 4

  • @VDFM1 I mean the recorder :D

  • @ThisKittenTutorials Camtasia studei 7 :)

  • Pro Tip: Dont Use Sound System 2000

  • I cant hear the music

  • Will this work with Adobe Premiere 3.0?

  • @LindhoutProductions

It hypothetically could, but Premiere isn't made for animation and it'll be very, very time and effort intense to do it with. It's easiest with Flash or After Effects, even easier if you combine it with Photoshop.

  • @iGxLOL It's true, Premiere hasa the ability to add keyframes. Like you say, it will cost a lot of effort. Other method you can use is: Make a big picture( in photoshop or illustrator) with all the words on it(in a composition) then drag the picture in Premiere and start animation. This method will not allow you to give the individual words an animation as shown here.

    Thanks for watching!

  • Whats with the Sims loading music xD

  • several YouTube tutorials, where it seems almost as the ones who make the videos don't even know exactly what they are doing.

Another Example us videocopilot. In my opinion, andrew kramer makes sery good tutorials, 'even' if theyre step by step. What makes the difference is, that he explains the idea or method behind the scene/tutorial.

I didn't want to insult anyone. Sorry for my android bad autocorrection and my bad English.

  • Sorry, i said it obviously the wrong way.

But especially through YouTube, we can see more and more guys who REALLY just reproduces step-by-step tutorials. So they are not learning by themselves, connecting small parts of knowledge into a new product. They copy principles and ideas. The behind the scenes of (for example) freddiew2 are a good example: There shouldn't be explained every tiny step, but the main concept or method. You'll never be a pro if you learn by copying. A bad example are..

  • thank you man

  • A tutorial is the senselessest thing ive ever heard off. Guys should learn, not reproduce.

  • @highdownhybrid And it never occurred to you that tutorials *help* us learn? People only start off reproducing, and it lets us get familiar with the skills so we can use them for our own work.

  • @highdownhybrid A tutorial make us learn. If you told me that clouds float in the air, I have learnt that clouds float in the air. Just like how this guy learns people how to make Typographies.

Either you are a complete troll or a complete idiot.

  • Absolutely a Fantastic Tutorial!! all the other ones are just of them talking not SHOWING. Need this for my Citizenship project on EMA, Thanks!!!

  • Thanks for the video. I've been trying to do this for so long. When I get time to attempt this at home I will will post a response video so you can see the results

  • will this work on cs5?

  • @freakazoid110

    Yes it does :)

  • Okay, so I want to do this, but I have no idea what I am doing. I would rather not pay $1000 for one project, so is it possible that I can do this in less than thirty days?

the layer on the time ruler is green but lighter and greyish, not that that dark green.

how do I fix this? help please

  • How come I can't hear the sound in AE?

  • @yesrndm "AE does not play sound in realtime. You need to generate previews. An audio-only preview can be initiated with the comma on your numpad, a full RAM preview for audio and video using 0 on the numpad. To hear audio while scrubbing, hold down Ctrl."

  • Im lovin the background music

  • I am having the same problem as Jailbird62.

this was a great tutorial on getting the basic functions of how to create layers and use the camera tool..

but I can't seem to get it to go past 30 seconds, and the clip I wanna do from the big lebowski is 1:16 lol...

so if you could let me know how to get it to go beyond that I would be very grateful..

  • @devtwenty

Be sure that all your layers are 3D layers.

Be sure to subscribe for nex videotutorials :)

  • i have a kinetic type project due tomorrow and i have been working hard the past two days when i watch this and realize i didn't know about the camera tool. i've been doing it the long hard way by individually keying every word with its own transformations. you get what i mean?

  • @therealbillybeans

Ow, There is even a faster way. Just make the text layout in photoshop, import the file with all the text layers. And work from there on out.

  • @VDFM1

do you mind doing a tut on that? or if there is one, mind linking me to that? I heard it was easier that way, but I always found the picture tutorials quite confusing.

  • hey man whats wrong i dont have the eliptical tool!

  • @iPaSooN

  • Dude,ur mouse clicking was FUCKING annoying, but now i have a typography intro :P Ty Like :D

  • to everyone who wants to know the shortcuts to previewing with audio:

the number 0 on the numpad does a RAM preview

alt + numpad 0 previews it like he did with audio ;)

  • how u get the audio to play without it being a RAM preview? please help i rly want to do typography :3

  • shotguns, well like guns that fire shot? lol wtf? XD

    great tutorial btw :)

  • i cant import my song plz help its and mp3 file. why cant adobe support it plz help what do i do!

  • i find it easyer doing the layout in illustrator. you save the words as layers (release to layes - sequence) and save to .ai...you then open it in AE- file/import/file (.ai file - composition).

  • Is it like guns that fire shot? :o

  • Hey I cant get my audio to play it is in .wav

  • @D12WorldNight same problem. i tried wav and mp3 and nothing worked..im running cs5. let me know if you find out how to fix it

  • @ihmboy10 Let me know too please! :)

  • @xCar0ll

Import > file, import your sound file into the library. Then drag it into the timeline, a new audio layer will be created.

To play back this sound, Window > Preview, and press the RAM preview button |||>.

  • @VDFM1 thx!

  • @ihmboy10

Import > file, import your sound file into the library. Then drag it into the timeline, a new audio layer will be created.

To play back this sound, Window > Preview, and press the RAM preview button |||>.

  • @VDFM1 Thanks :) Could you PM me a link of a HD version? youtube kinda messes it up for me.

  • @D12WorldNight

Import > file, import your sound file into the library. Then drag it into the timeline, a new audio layer will be created.

To play back this sound, Window > Preview, and press the RAM preview button |||>.

  • @D12WorldNight press zero on the num pad :)

  • I don't see what's wrong with the music. It's real, unlike the crap that is out now in the mainstream.

  • @magermax000

Here's someone who knows what he's talking about :)

  • @magermax000 There's absolutely nothing wrong with Miles Davis and John Coltrane's "So what" , great music for thinking and creating

  • @declau I never said there was anything wrong with it. It is great.

  • @magermax000 THANK YOU!

  • not bad dude.

  • ok so i just got into after effects and i was trying to make typeog. for a sound clip from a movie and when i would preview i wouldnt hear sound. so i asked around, my friend said its not suppose to. How do i enable it?

  • What is with the mouses very loud clicking? I hear this a lot on these tutorials but can`t figure out why the mouse is so annoyingly loud. Anyone have an answer? Is it just a cheap ten dollar mouse or what? Maybe it`s some kind of Mac mouse, because I use a PC and I don`t know anything about Macs....

  • i think it's that way simply becouse he actually wants you to hear when he clicks something, imagine how hard it is sometimes to see when he clicks on something. Its just easier to follow the tutorial, or the steps =)

  • You should have narrarated it.

  • anyone know why there are no handles appearing on either side of any of the bars in my timeline as I can't animate the timing of the words to the music without them?

  • very helpful; thank you.

  • how do you add voices like that?

  • how do u get sharp text ( not jagged when put on a big screen)?

  • this is not very useful, it just confuses the hell out of the viewers, what's with the highlighting text blah blah, you could just create something new, and that disarranged layers, uggggh, shotguns!

  • nice,

why do you work with camera layers; isnt it easyer to move around the whole text comp?

question, i cant hear my wav's in AE...

ps. I rather listen to my own music

  • not my taste in tutorial... xP

  • what's the font??

  • I don't know how is the original song, but i heard it before on an Erykah Badu lp

  • Useful. Thank you.

  • Ok so i've imported MP3, and WAM files of songs to AE, but whenever i play the audio file there's no sound. It's not muted, the audio file works when it's not in AE, and it is playing but theres no sound. Anyone know what to do?

  • Press 0 on the numberpad.

  • Yeah. Flipping because of the friggin music.

  • Youtube put a mute-botton on the video's for a reason...

  • @dregdata Omz you like Lady Gaga and Rihanna xD Shame on you, Jazz is Everything.

  • @dregdata I bet you like lil wayne or some crap music. how can you not like miles davis...

  • How do I preview / listen to the audio in After Effects?

  • same problem for me, when i press the spacebar, there is no sound...

  • ram preview

  • you dont

  • to your far right there should be a button that looks something like

    III>

  • ram preview

  • I believe you need a RAM preview for that.

  • nice tutorial man! ...and xanderdias,, u see the button where you press play? ..you can also pause! -

  • its good but you do everything too fast for a tutorial

  • thats why you can rewind

  • excellent tut

  • What font are you using?

  • It's helvetica.

  • thanks!

  • where can u get the sound from movies, and put it in the video?

  • Just use a plain edit program like sony vegas or even the free movie maker . Select the part you want. Then cut everything away except the part and then save it as a mp3 of wav file. Then just import it in AE.
