When he saves Luke, he does destroy the Sith when he kills Palpatine and then dies himself, bringing balance to the Force, just as the prophecy predicted. And when he does this, he becomes Anakin once more. Luke held the same belief about Anakin just as Padme did.

Actually A new hope was made in 1977 and it was the fist Star wars movie ever and The empire stricks back was second movie and Return of Jedi was third and last. The most powerful and most evil Sith Lord in the galaxy has ever seen died by being lifted up by Darth Vader and thrown into a... pit or something. That's kinda awkward. I know, I act like a fucking cunt, but the ending should have been epic and interesting as the ending to "Revenge of the Sith". I dunno... when Luke is hit by lightning, Vader should have begun thinking about his own life and how it was BEFORE he fell to the dark side and how much he loved Padme, about Obi-Wan etc etc.

Could have been a more interesting ending. I mean... Anakin (a.k.a. Darth Vader) should have fought alot more with Luke, 'cos it's the duel between "the father who turned to the dark side 20 years ago or so" and "his long lost child"; should have been as interesting as the duel between Anaking and Obi-Wan in "Revenge of the Sith"... Now that was the most epic and most interesting Star Wars battle between a fallen jedi and his former master. And Darth Sidious... died too easily.

Anakin is the same age in III so that makes him 50 in IV. and you notice it took them the entire time between III and IV to build the first death star, and they're almost done with a whole new one here, so it's possible another 15 or so years have passed between IV and VI.
