hey mate I got this same A/F gauge and I tried installing it today and i got red green and black all hooked up and the directions said i didnt need to hook white wire up but with white not connected i havnt been able to get it to work. so do u actually need the white wire hooked up and i also cant find the head light wires so i was wondering how cud I hook white wire into my cigerette lighter like u did?
just a note, that a wideband O2 sensor should be used to accurately determine AFRs. narrowband (stock sensors) are really only good for determining accuracy within +/- 1 of stoichiometric point (14.7:1).
i have the same problem as you (just shows rich), i just spliced into the sensor under the hood but iv since removed it coz it didnt work. what did you say you needed to do to fix this(something about pre)?
w0w 5o mpg's... why didn't the old cars stay around ?

junk narrow bands suck its a 0-1 volt sensor as a wideband is 0-5 volt, so that gauge is just a light show

I agree. I bought this gauge only as a quick warning tool for my turbo engine. I have an Innovate wideband O2 sensor I use for tuning.

if you have the single-wire O2 sensor, you'll need top tap into the wire directly before the ECU where it isn't shielded to get an accurate reading.

i think the green is lean and red is rich

it just depends on the gauge you are running. This particular brand of gauge (Sunpro), red is lean and green is rich. Others are opposite that.

so do i install the green wire to the O2 sensor sownstream(after the cat) or should it be run to the front O2 sensor

upstream O2 sensor (first one), but you must connect it at the ECU otherwise you will get no reading on the gauge.
