@flip5775, A LOT of Alex's drum solos from tour to tour were and still are mind blowing. He's one of those "Oh, shit!" drummers. You never know what to expect from Alex whether he'll blow himself up or set his drums on fire or what.

I think to Eddie using the keyboards was like Jimmy Page using acoustic. It added versatility and changed up the music a bit. I love the Dave era way more, but musically they ran out their stay. There was really nothing else fresh they could do cus Dave didn't want pianos and synths in the tunes frequently. To me, 1984 summed up the sound of classic Van Halen. When "House of Pain" fades out, it really sounds like the end of Van Halen, or that era of VH.
