Such a delightful fantasy, one of my all time favourite films, first seen 50's television when they began all the airings of old films. Sadly in the usa there was no respect for films which were cut to ribbons for the sake of bloody commercials. at least now we can watch all in its glorious beauty. Ava was gorgeous. Eve Arden I have always adored in anything she did. Bob Walker was splendid and vastly underrated. I have know people who knew him..all say it was Jennifer Jones who destroyed him.

@4MaryAnna Yes! R. Walker was a great actor. In this movie he is a comedic stumblebum. In "Strangers On a Train", he is a very scary psychotic! A very chilling portrayal of a killer! The best die young. (sometimes)!

@early60srcool Yes.so true.some of the best do die young.Although Elizabeth Taylor wasn't young(79,I believe?) It's sad we've lost her also. There's not many of the truly great ones left. Thank god we still have Mickey Rooney!He's just wonderful!
