I was at a cine/concert last summer in London where they showed Dracula while the Kronos Quartet + Michael Riesman + Philip Glass (!) were here to play this score. Believe or not, but the audience managed to ruin most of it just by being pricks and keeping laughing whenever you'd see a puppet bat or Lugosi's strange look or this kind of dated things. It almost completely killed the mood...

It was still a great moment if you managed to pay no attention to those morons!

I think a new version of the DVD for Dracula have both the original with no music and with the music from Glass. It is actually really creepy with the new music. /// There is a really great version of the 1925 Phantom of the Opera here on Youtube with very high definition and a new musical score. I guess the old one would seem very dated to veiwers that are wary of silent films. It's a really fantastic version. Check it out.

Michael Riesman is truly one of the piano greats of our age. What a guy! And Philip's music is incredible too of course!

The music really brings anew feeling to an already wonderful film. The 75th ann. collection lets you watch the movie with the score by glass. I highly recomend it.

I saw the concert in NYC and it was a great performance of Michael Riesman.Philip Glass introduced the film and music version.These guys are awssome.Merveilleux!Merci;-)
