For me, this level was the game version of the movie "U-571". The details may be diferent, but the layout is mainly the same: board/infiltrate a U-Boat, take out the crew, sabotage it and get out.

the funny thing on giacchino is, everytime when we see an U-boat in the series Lost, it comes exactly this track, maybe little bit different but really similar^^

looks like he have always the same idea how an U-boat should sound on musical ways

i'm speculating but the U-boats number i believe it to be the "end year" of wwII and the year it was made. So 49 is their wwII end year and 02 is the year MOH: Frontline was made. Really it's quite obvious

@megasman1 WW II ended sept 1945 a U-boats has surrendered and destroyed or been abandoned by 1946 by 1946 all German Garisons had surrendered.

The only people left fighting after where Japanese Soilders who refused to belive the war had ended and hid away in the hills.

all they really did was come down from the hills and shoot farmers and police but the last soilder of world war 2 one Hiroo Onoda fought untill 1974.

Seriously I would play the game just to use the MP40 with unlimited ammo on and spray like a maniac!

If any of you are Lost fans, Michael Giacchino (the composer of this game and Lost), uses the cue from 2:28 many times when the submarine is shown. It's great he sticks to his roots.

if you crouch while the chef ischucking knives at you, you can push him into the corner and he'll jump on top of you. try to get up. you wont be able to. so the game decides to let you go really fast while crouching. SUPER CROUCH!!! oh, and then you can shoot him from the inside of his own body.

They play this song in Lost when Lock was sabotaging the submarine. They did it as an inside joke because the same guy did the music in this as did in Lost.
