  • Many of you forget that this city is a Navy, Marine, and Air Force City now. I was there at this game from Houston cheering on the Bears, with 2 brothers serving, one a Seal, and other Corpsman. Nobody here dishonered their country. This is how sports, and salutes are done in one of the oldest cities in the nation. Take a trip along Navy Pier and ask how many service men are offended by this. Doubt you will find one.

  • Each city has it's own view on patriotism and how to handle the anthem. One is not more patriotic than the others. We have our way in Chicago it has been this way since when the Russian National team came for a hockey game against or Hawks.I was there to wittness it.The guy from Boston signs it his way ,Carolina and St.Louis and so on. I mst admit I love the way the Canucks and their fans handle the anthems.Wonderful.

  • Dude Paulies house is huge? He probably got a killer deal AZ

  • epic jim

  • shoulda been him instead of c.aguilara (sp? @ the super bowl.

  • Considering my beloved Ditch-hawks lost....this was probably the only high point of the whole day!! This guy sang it like he MEANT EVERY WORD!! God bless him!!

  • @redsonya1959 your dictch hawks had no business in the playoffs anyways

  • Hasselbeck looks stunned!!

  • He's a Chicago treasure and he and our fans show their love and respect in a way that some will never understand. We need more like him. Especially at this down time in our great country.

  • I suppose I can see where you might say that it is not disrespectful if you place your sports team before your nation. Our national anthem is not some inside joke that fans shout throughout its singing. Singing along, loudly, quietly, in tune or out, but with pride, honor and humility is awesome. Clapping, cheering and yelling...not so much. But hey, you have that right thanks to all the military who died to secure it for you.

  • IT SOUNDS POWERFUL

  • this is my favorite national anthem performance of all time. the combination of his voice, the crowd, and the snow beginning to fall is monumental.

  • So he is singing for all the rest of the playoffs and the Super Bowl! Go Bears!

  • Cornelison sings the anthem for the Blackhawks, and the cheering during the anthem is a tradition at Blackhawks games, so loud that you can't hear his singing - it's a Chicago thing. I could understand if you didnt know why we were cheering, how it would seem disrespectful, but it was a great insider thing that really got the crowd PUMPED and I'm sure made the Seahawks feel lost!

  • @slimer303 Hell yeah! The game was over before it even started! Say hi to the Ghostbusters for me!

  • Great rendition. I wish the crowd would have shown a little respect and shut up. Random yelling during the anthem is not cool.

  • @Fourfourfivethree

I was at the game it was totally awesome especially with the fly by and the snow. And the cheering during the anthem a tradition at Blackhawks games and it's done in recognition of our military. It's way better than all these divas and pop shit stars putting extra notes and junk into it when they sing.

  • This was the best one ever. Jim made me feel good to be free and American. I teared up with emotion. I thought maybe there would be more comments by now. Nice to see a real manly looking man singing his heart out with passion. When he pointed to the flag I about fell off the couch with pride. Sounds dumb, but this guy knocked my socks off.

  • not disrespectful at all! (unless you're military)......i'm in nc & i told my wife that was 1 of the greatest renditions i've ever heard.......i don't see how a visiting team has barely a chance after that......awesome.....

  • Awesome!

  • I was at the game and this was the best part of the game! Truely EPIC! It was so loud you couldnt even hear the Jets when they flew over

  • the seahawks were doomed as soon as he started singing. if that doesn't get you motivated, nothing will. i was actually sitting at home watching this live with my wife and said "they gotta have the flyover, this guy is EPIC!!" and sure enough as those jets flew over soldier field i almost crapped my pants :P
